  1. I posted my questions on the Port of Call for 2 days and haven't received any response, so I am trying this thread. We are in our mid 60's, each will have a 28" luggage and a carry-on. Do not want to take train or bus. We will arrive on April 3 (Monday) around 7 a.m. from the U.S. on a 15-hour non-stop flight. Will embark on a Princess cruise on April 4. We mainly want to find a hotel that is: clean and safe, within walking distance (or short taxi ride) to the cruise terminal, convenient to casual eating places and will be nice, if also convenient to a market (for water and snacks). Questions: 1. Any suggestions for hotel that is within walking distance or short taxi ride to the OPT? I only saw ads on the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney and Swissotel Sydney. Any better ones? 2. Which is closer or within walking distance to the OPT? Four Seasons Hotel Sydney or Swissotel Sydney? 3. How far is the ride from the Kingsford Smith airport to the hotel near Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT)? 4. If take taxi, approximately how much is the ride? Can I pay the driver using credit card? 5. Can we use credit card for the taxi/eating/shopping (souvenirs)/market (buy water, snacks, etc.)? 6. Or it is wise to get some AUD at the airport ATM? Thanks in advance for any assistance!!
  2. Yesterday I sent an email to apply for the Stockholder OBC. In less than 10 minutes, I received an email, subject line: your booking confirmation. Opened the email and noticed the stockholder OBC already showing on the new booking confirmation. That is super fast!!
  3. We will be coming in Apr 2023 for a cruise. We will arrive 1 day early just in case of flight delay. Looking for suggestions of where to stay and how to get from Kingsford Smith Int'l airport to hotel and then hotel to the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT). We are 2 females in our mid 60's, each will have a 28" luggage and a carry-on. Do not want to take train or bus. We will arrive on April 3 (Monday) around 7 a.m. from the U.S. on a 15-hour non-stop flight. We visited Sydney about 20 years ago on a 7-day escorted land tour, so already saw most of the sightseeing sites. For our 1 day pre-cruise, we mainly want to find a hotel that is: clean and safe, within walking distance (or short taxi ride) to the cruise terminal, convenient to casual eating places (for lunch and dinner) and will be nice, but not a must, if also convenient to some casual/market shopping. If we are not tired, then after check-in to the hotel, we will walk to nearby area for shopping. If too tired or jetlag, then just relax in the hotel and only go out when time to eat lunch and dinner. Questions: 1. On the average, how far is the ride from the airport to the hotel (near OPT)? 2. If take taxi, approximately how much is the ride? Can I pay the driver using credit card? 3. Suggestions for hotel that is within walking distance or short taxi ride to the OPT? 4. Can we use credit card for the taxi/eating/shopping (souvenirs)/market (buy water, snacks, etc.)? 5. Or it is wise to get some AUD at the airport ATM? Thanks in advance for any assistance!!
  4. Will I need a prescription to buy CIPRO at PV Walmart? TIA.
  5. I would like to know also. On Tuesday morning, I plan to call Princess to take advantage of the new $100pp OBC promotion for four of my 2023 b2b2b bookings. This promotion is for new bookings only, so probably need to cancel and rebook. I like the cabin I booked because it is the same for all three b2b2b cruises.
  6. I would like to switch to another CVP also. Do I just call the Princess general line? My CVP doesn't reply to emails and always had to leave at least 2+ messages before he responded. I want to take advantage of the current $100pp OBC promotion for all four bookings that I have. I requested those changes more than a week ago; sent him 2 emails and left several voice messages, but he never replied or call me back or make those changes.
  7. It should be the Skagway dining room, midship, deck 6.
  8. Check out this link; it shows pictures of all 3 cabins. You can decide which one you feel is best for you. https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/ov.php?ship=Regal-Princess&cabins=E501-E535
  9. Same machine as the airport at TSA for carry-on? I don't think a 28" luggage will fit through those TSA scanners at the security check-in point. Airport check-in luggages go through a different size scanner, and those scanners are large.
  10. All carry-on luggage needs to go through the scanner, can 28" luggage fit into the scanner? If so, I would like to carry it on myself instead of checking it in.
  11. I just noticed all four of my booked 2023 sailings now have a new promo offering $100pp Shore Excursion Credit, pricing is still the same as what I booked. My CVP is off until Monday. Before I call my CVP on Monday to cancel and rebook all 4 bookings, I would like to find out if anyone knows if those "shore excursion credits" can be used for gratuities or to buy items at the Princess shops, or pay for specialty dining. I do not plan to book any excursions. Thank you.
  12. From CC posts that I read, exchanging the mini-bar for all plain water or coffee packages or a mixture of non-alcohol drinks is no problem. But someone mentioned there might be a problem if exchanging all 20 items for all Perrier or San Pellegrino.
  13. The following was posted on the Princess board regarding the self-laundry on the Discovery Princess. Those of you who are on the Discovery now, if you happen to pass by the laundry room, please kindly check if the laundry is still free now. Thank you. A CC post on 9/2/22. We were just on the Discovery 2 weeks ago. I used the laundry facility on the Riviera deck. Totally free. The machines are not even equipped with token slots...they are free to use and detergent was available on a shelf.
  14. Thank you for finding it out for me; that is great to know. Hopefully, Room Service is willing to exchange my mini-bar with entirely just sparkling mineral water.
  15. mthomp5 and TrustMeI'mANurse, If you happened to pass by the bar next to the International Cafe, or when you order room service, please kindly ask if the ship carries bottled sparkling mineral water (San Pellegrino and/or Perrier)? I will be on the Discovery at the end of October and am thinking of exchanging my Elite mini-bar setup for 20 bottles of sparking mineral water. Thanks in advance!!
  16. I also prefer San Pellegrino over Perrier. I read on previous CC posts that the majority of the Princess ships carry only Perrier.
  17. Thank you all for the information and suggestions. I don't drink wine. To make the question simple, I only asked about a 5-day cruise. I am actually on b2b2b cruises. First cruise 7 days, 2nd cruise 5 days, and 3rd cruise 4 days. Taking into consideration everyone's info and suggestions, I think for the 1st cruise, I will trade in for 2 coffee packages (since I read on CC that unused coffee can be carried forward to my 2nd and 3rd cruises). So that will give me 30 specialty coffee over the entire 16-day cruises. Then for the 2nd and 3rd cruises, I will trade in for 40 Perrier water.
  18. I read on CC that we are not allowed to carry plastic bottles drinks/water on board.
  19. I am Elite and have always traded my mini-bar for a coffee package with 15 specialty coffee. I have a 5-day cruise coming up and this time I booked solo, so I will get 2 coffee packages for myself. I only drink one cup of coffee each day. With the coffee package, besides getting the specialty coffee, can I use it to get Pierre water also? For example, in the morning I get a specialty coffee, in the afternoon, I get a few Pierre water.
  20. In the Travel Checklist, my arrival status shows "green". Now, where do I go to pick time for arrival group? Thank you.
  21. I have an old phone and am not able to download the app. My b2b2b cruises are still 7 weeks away. I think I will wait until early October to call my CVP. Maybe by that time, he can do it at the discounted rate.
