  1. I will be booking my next cruise as solo. So if I call RS to exchange my mini-bar for the coffee card, I will get 2 coffee packages (a total of 30 specialty coffee) loaded to my Medallion?
  2. When I log in to my Princess account and go to the cruise that I am interested in, after I chose a cabin, I noticed it says can hold until "XX" (XX is 3 days later). If I do a mock booking and 2 days later I decided to call in to Princess and tell the Princess agent I am now ready to do the actual booking on the "hold" booking I did, is that okay? Or I must go back to my account and finish that booking online? Also, if the website's price a day or two later gone up higher than the booking that I placed on hold, or OBC offered on my "hold" booking is no longer being offered, will I have to pay the new price or my "on hold" booking price and OBC offered still will be honored? Thank you.
  3. The cruise we are considering changed "name" yesterday; it is now called "Comedy Themed West Coast Getaway...". So Princess added "Comedy Themed". I wonder what they mean? Most of the shows on this cruise will be comedy shows?
  4. Instead of calling Princess and booking my cruise with them on the phone, if I choose to use a Princess CVP, can I still call Princess for assistance if I can't get a hold of my CVP and would like assistance ASAP? For example, want to change my cabin to a different cabin or take advantage of a 2-day sale, etc.)? I know if I booked through an outside TA, Princess will not assist me at all; so just curious if that is the same situation using Princess CVP?
  5. Because they are family members, so even different booking numbers, all the persons are covered. My case is different, we are not family members.
  6. Jersey42, thank you for asking the question for me. I decided to try Princess' Live Chat. Got a Live Chat agent immediately, and she answered all the questions I have in a very speedy manner. According to her, the FCC refund under CFAR is good for a year from the issued date.
  7. Do you happen to know if there is an expiration period for the FCC refunded due to CFAR?
  8. My cruises are in Oct-Nov., so won't be able to take advantage of the Cruise with Confidence or COVID plans (unless extended). To be safe, best to buy my own insurance.
  9. Forgot to mention, that the main reason this time (since this time we plan to each book our own cabin), I am considering Princess Platinum protection is because of their CFAR. Since we can cancel for any reason, I don't have to worry if something happens and we can't go on the cruises, we definitely can cancel without any problem and get all money refunded (FCC is fine since we cruise often).
  10. Jersey42, thank you so much for such a thorough explanation!
  11. I For 20+ years, we had always bought third-party insurance, mainly because we had always done only international cruises and a lot of Transatlantic cruises that had many sea days. For those cruises, third-party insurance has a much higher coverage on medical evacuation (in case we need a helicopter to take us to medical assistance). Due to so many problems lately with flights, we decided to do 3 short b2b2b cruises (total 16 days) that do not require us to fly (the port is less than an hour drive from home) and we will hand carry our luggage and no 2 sea days in a row. So this time, the most important factor to consider is to have CFAR (mainly for possible COVID issues). That is why we are considering Princess protection.
  12. For my upcoming 3 b2b2b cruises, instead of buying from outside insurance companies, this time, I am considering buying the Princess insurance. I am Elite so I can buy the Standard plan and will get a free upgrade to the Platinum plan. More than 10 years ago, when I inquired about the plan, I was told the cost is 8%. Is the cost still the same? I can't remember if the 8% cost was based on only the cabin fare or the total cost (includes cabin fare and port charges/fee), anyone knows? Thank you.
  13. Thank you Jersey42. I will post the questions on the Princess forum.
  14. My friend and I plan to each book our cabin as a solo passenger on 3 b2b2b Princess cruises. If something happens (for example, one tests positive for COVID before the cruise, serious illness, family emergency, etc) and one of us can't go on the cruise, then the other person does not want to go also. Questions: 1. If we both buy the Princess Platinum protection plan, and we link our bookings together, then one of us must cancel the cruise with a "covered reason", will both of us be able to cancel, and both get a full cash refund? 2. Or the other person without the "covered reason" will have to cancel using "cancel for any reason" and only get FCC refund? 3. FCC refund is good for how long? Thank you in advance for any input!
  15. Since it was booked as solo, then the cabin will be equipped with towels for one person. Did you have any problems asking your cabin steward to supply daily towels for 2 persons?
  16. For the b2b cruises that my friend and I are interested in, the total price of booking 2 separate mini-suite cabins came out to be $400 cheaper than if we booked one mini-suite and share the cabin. The saving mainly from lower price and booking solo gets $100pp OBC, but booking together in the same cabin will only get $50pp OBC, and like you said, each of us (elite) will get our own minibar and each cabin can get its own stockholder OBC. My friend is afraid to be in her cabin by herself at night, so even if each of us books a solo mini-suite, she will just leave her mini-suite vacant and stay with me on my mini-suite. But I never thought of one of us booking a mini-suite and the other booking an interior, that will save even more money. THANK YOU for bringing that up. I do have a few questions and would like to know the answers before deciding what we want to do. After we get on the ship and then we go to Passenger Service to tell them to allow my friend entrance to my cabin using her Medallion because she plans to just stay with me and leave her interior cabin vacant, will PS charge her extra money because she is now staying in my mini-suite as 2nd guest and not her booked interior cabin? I will definitely try to get her interior cabin to be across or next to my cabin. But if both cabins will not be serviced by the same cabin steward, could my cabin steward refuses to do services for 2 persons when the cabin was booked for 1 person? And then no work for the cabin steward who will service the vacant interior cabin. Any input will be much appreciated!
  17. If cancel a cruise under the "Cancel for Any Reason" and Princess gives FCC for the refunds, is there an expiration period that the FCC must be used for future cruises? Thank you.
  18. She has to keep testing until the result shows negative before her work allows her to return to work. Her work requires official proof of negative test result.
  19. My friend and I plan to each book our cabin as a solo passenger on 3 b2b2b Princess cruises. If something happens (for example, one tests positive for COVID before the cruise, family emergency, etc) and one of us can't go on the cruise, then the other person does not want to go also. Questions: If we both buy the Princess Platinum protection plan, and we link our bookings together, or one of us pays for both bookings, if one of us must cancel the cruise with a "covered reason", will the other person be able to cancel also and get a full cash refund? Or the other person will have to cancel using "cancel for any reason" and only get FCC refund?
  20. Thank you for the replies!
