  1. You might want to consider getting off at Rockaway Blvd. Use your Google maps to find closest gas station. Then Google maps to get to Hertz. Driving the backroads thru JFK can be confusing if not familiar.
  2. I would definitely take the Holland with your Mom. That NCL will be a party ship. It says OPEN BAR — which is fine if that’s what you want. But that if I want a nice peaceful cruise I wouldn’t chose that. Plus the itinerary looks better on Holland.
  3. Definitely not. Kids that age want to run and climb and have fun. There’s just nothing for them to do on the Navigator. I was on a cruise in the Med on the Voyager. There were three boy cousins with their Moms and Grandma. Kids were around 8 years old. Well, near the last day, the Moms had a loud argument by the pool, with 2 of the sisters yelling they wanted to take the boys on a Disney Cruise and how horrible the Regent cruise was for school aged kids.
  4. Besides gratuity, there might be an extra excursion you can purchase.
  5. It’s really a crapshoot if you get high water/low water. The crowds will be the same. If you don’t want crowds then consider very early or very late in the season sailings.
  6. You can’t possibly use square footage to compare crowds on a River ship and an ocean liner. River Cruise everyone is off the ship and on their way on excursions within 15 mins. Ocean cruises it can take hours when tendering is involved. There is also the “class” system in play ala the Titanic when it comes to dining, seating and getting off the ship on the ocean liners.
  7. Yes I do have the Credit Card. I have the AMEX Delta.
  8. We loved the full day Salzburg. It is too far to enjoy for only 1/2 day. Shipmates did do the 1/2 day a felt like it was a waste because hardly any time in Salzburg. You make stops coming and going to Salzburg and we loved the stops also. One stop was Mondsee which has a gorgeous lake and the church used in the Sound of Music. I forget the stop going home but it was in the country.
  9. Great. It’s the location that’s the most important over there. Enjoy!
  10. Jersey City no doubt! Even if you don’t want to visit Manhattan, there is a promenade with a beautiful view of NYC skyline. The restaurants are diverse. Also easy access to Liberty State Park with views of the Statue of Liberty plus you can ferry over to the Statue easily. Elizabeth is good if you want inexpensive lodgings. The restaurants are chains in the mall.
  11. Lol. Sorry I confused you all. Maybe because my itinerary is unique, the Uniworld Po River there are such few reviews. Only one from last year. Also if you have the Delta app, they offer you upgrades. It varies and I keep a watch. It was ridiculously expensive and then all of a sudden was $399 extra to fly D1 which is Delta Business class.
  12. That was crazy. Who is the guy with the blue shirt and white pants? It looks like a vigilante type situation.
  13. 2023 Cruising is in full gear and I have seen very few reviews! I looked for my particular itinerary on the official review page. ONE from last year! C’mon peeps. Let’s hear it. The good, and not so good. What you loved. What you disliked. It helps everyone. What to look forward to. How to be proactive. Which itinerary to research next. My cruise is end of July. Fingers and toes crossed. First cruise since 2019. 🤞🤞🤞 I upgraded myself to D1 on Delta this am. Last week they wanted 2998 Pp. Today 399. Yeah I’m spending my kids inheritance. YOLO 😁
  14. I heard 44 X is great. There is also cantina rooftop. Go to Google Maps and look to see what cuisine you like. There’s a bagel place too.
  15. The castles on the Rhine itineraries Basel to Amsterdam or reverse has a river day when you sail past all the castles. It’s glorious.
  16. One time we were rafted to our Amawaterways sister vessel. The two ships were identical. So when you walked into the ship you weren’t sure if you were on the correct one or you should walk through. Lok
  17. You might be disappointed if you planned to sit on your balcony and enjoy the view. Also those with mobility problems might have an issue in some stops.
  18. That sounds too high. It’s only 2 miles. I just checked and it’s 24.97 for Uber X now. That seems better. It all depends on the weather and day of the week and time of day.
  19. Bring a Gortex waterproof windbreaker type jacket a little big. You can wear it by itself and keep dry in rain or wear a sweatshirt underneath and be warm in chill and windy. I have one I bought to take to Alaska and it has gone all around the world with me.
  20. Hi. We took the Uniworld Libson and Porto trip. The main draw is the culture and history of the area combined with the wine (vineyards). We opted for the additional excursions to Cascais and Sintra in Libson also. It’s a more relaxing vacation type of feel than other River Cruise Itineraries. We went in July, so sitting by the pool, sipping cocktails and cruising thru the locks admiring the vineyards is part of the experience.
  21. You definitely don’t need two new outfits per day. Mix and match! Bring separates. You need a good pair of walking shoes or sandals and maybe a dressier pair for dinner. Country club casual for dinner. A couple of dresses but nothing too fancy. Bring a waterproof jacket. Tours go out rain or shine.
  22. Same with Amawaterways and Uniworld. 😀
  23. I’d get there around noon. All the departing pax would have left already. So lots of spaces open up. I wouldn’t worry. For backup download the “Spot Hero” app. You’ll find a garage close by and get the best rate.
