  1. For our cruise, the OceanView was open late for us. We got back around 10:15 pm. I believe it was serving main dishes such as meat carving, etc. until 11 pm.
  2. The lights go through a sequence of being dark and then gradually become brighter and brighter in increments. A huge improvement over the Beyond.
  3. My suggestion is to head down to the IT Department and have them set up an App which they called a shortcut. It will say Home Page on your device. You just check on the shortcut and you go right to the login page. Easy.
  4. We were on the Ascent the week after you. 9th floor if that makes any difference. I can tell you that the water had a 'different' taste to it and was not like the water of other ships. I am not sure this is related but the taste was quite noticeable to me.
  5. We were on the Beyond about one year ago. We had a get together with our Roll Call. I would say 8 out of 10 rooms had noises and this included a high end suite. Luckily, we had a quiet room. Also, the seas were very calm that week. I felt bad for those that could not sleep. On my recent cruise on Ascent, I heard noises one night. It seemed that the chairs on the Veranda were in contact with the walls. When I moved them from the walls, the noise ceased. The seas were also a little rough which may have contributed..
  6. I just came off the Ascent. There is a tailor onboard who does such clothing pairs. We were not charged and we sailed with the commoners. No suite.
  7. You may be disappointed at the nightlife on Celebrity. There is a performance in the theater nightly and there will be one theme night by the pool. Nothing like Royal Caribbean or NCL in terms of energy on the ship.
  8. You may want to consider giving some of the money to deserving employees. We had a good amount left in our account last week. I went to Guest Relations and they gave me a form to complete. I got the employees names and they filled in their identification numbers. Then I wrote in the amounts for each and returned it. I did get a confirmation of the transaction.
  9. They get 15% off the cost of dining before the 20% gratuity fee is added.
  10. All MDRs on Beyond are Anytime. You show up when you want to eat. No need for reservations.
  11. The big production shows occurred on days 3,5, and 7. at 7:30 and 9:30. Get there early as these are new shows on a new ship.
  12. I had spent a good amount of time booking times for a couple of the MDR's on Beyond and Ascent. When on board, we were told it was Anytime Dining. As long as you get there before 6, there will be a short line. Note that the early birds start lining up at 5:15 pm. People will get there early on nights in which the production shows take place at 7:30. Enjoy!
  13. There were 3 production shows in the Main Theater. They were Bridges, Awaken and Residency. These featured the singers, dancers, acrobats and the Celebrity Orchestra. There was a comedian, a tribute singer to Elton John, and a female singing songs from Broadway. All were very talented. There was also a couple of theater groups who performed out of Eden in the evening. These shows were in the evening with some being late night.. I must say the entertainment was excellent and there was plenty of live music everywhere on the ship. Enjoy!
  14. We had our first guest lecturer last week in over 10 years in the Caribbean. He was excellent and did 4 presentations. Much depends on the itinerary. Alaska will usually have a naturalist who point out what is happening outside of the ship i.e. whales, eagles, glaciers, etc. Don't expect a lecturer in the Caribbean.
  15. In the Persian Gardens, there are 16 heated chairs and I never had to wait for one. No sauna outside of that area. The Activities Team was outstanding. They seemed to be working nonstop. They did a great job on the late night Shine Night by the pool. Real big turnout.
  16. Just got off Ascent today. We were up there at around 10 pm each night. As mentioned, a pasta station, waffle/crepe station, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, and food from the nightly theme. Indian, Greek and Philippine item available.
  17. No fee for gelato. However, there were very few flavors to choose from each day. The ice cream was creamy and I never had any ice crystals; I did not mention that the OceanView had a chilled fruit soup each day for lunch. Pear, apricot, banana, and peach.
  18. Just back from a 7 day cruise on the Ascent. Would be happy to answer any questions if I can. We sailed in Aqua Class as we typically do. Overall, it was an exceptional cruise. Highlights - our cruise director, Luigi, was outstanding. Tops in our opinion. High energy and approachable. Great dance instructor as his classes were popular and fun. - Ascent is a beautiful and very clean ship - food and service in Blu was exceptional. Outstanding and friendly management team and staff. - entertainment (music and shows) was excellent - very short waits for bar service - loved our Captain (Dimitrios Kafetzis) as he did no self-promoting and gave accolades to the crew - we had great meals at Eden Specialty, Rooftop Garden and Le Grand Bistro. - very good lunches at Eden - live music took place at several locations at the same time around the ship - we had a Beyond the Podium speaker (space expert Kelly Beatty) who was excellent. Besides the 4 lectures, he set up his telescope to view the sun and moon.. - the show at the martini bar is not to be missed - excellent Guest Relations team. Issues were quickly resolved. Lowlights - lunch at the OceanView open boarding and sea days was a zoo. Think Animal House. People cutting in line, refusing to share tables, using fingers to take food. Servers told me that the last time they saw people behaving like this was in December. Average to good quality foods with plenty of variety. Seating very difficult to locate on these days. Surprises - The burgers in the Mast Grill were surprisingly good as were the hot dogs. The staff working there were upbeat and smiling unlike my experiences on the Beyond. - no fee for gelato - staff in Blu and our stateroom attendant addressed us by name after day 1 - the common areas in the ship were cool. I wish I had brought some long sleeved clothing. An excellent cruise with a great crew.
  19. On our cruise on Beyond, there were no reservations for the MDRs. Everything was Anytime Dining.
  20. I need the answers. Will someone please provide them so I can get my point! 🤠 Thanks.
  21. . It really depends on the week. We have not had one in many years.
  22. Blu will be your assigned dining room. If you want to have a meal in the MDR, speak to the maitre d' and arrangements will be made for that evening.
  23. First, the water is excellent on the ship. Second, on our cruise, you had to bring your beverages with you onto the ship. No longer could you just put a tag on it and have the porters send it through to your room. But it does help strengthen your arms and legs.
  24. I did not lose the $150 OBC. I even kept it when I changed dates. However, I had a refundable rate.
