  1. The casino is smoke free. There is smoking on the Port side of Deck 5 and in areas by the Mast Bar and Sunset Bar.
  2. 1.We typically book a Specialty Restaurant on the first night to receive the discount. One reason is that the dining room can be chaotic. If you are considering booking for a discount, do it soon as they can disappear. Murano is our favorite. 2. Celebrity has an older group and the energy level is less than other cruise lines. Should suit you just fine. There are enough activities to keep you occupied. 3. No smoking on balconies. There are designated outdoor areas which are identified for you ship. 4. There is no obligation to tip above and beyond your included package. Many will tip those that provide exceptional service and who have gone above and beyond their responsibilities.
  3. Any particular dishes in Eden? Any special dishes in Eden?
  4. What are the "not to miss" Specialty Restaurants on the Celebrity Beyond? Too many choices for me. Thank you for the assistance.
  5. Yes, there are typically drinks of the day. One is with alcohol and the other does not include alcohol. On some cruises, the same drinks may be on for a couple of days.
  6. If you don't have much that you want to have washed, you can always pay by the article of clothing.
  7. Some of the Aqua Class cabins are not in the best of locations. For Alaska, I would go for the Sunset Veranda Suite. The views would be spectacular.
  8. There are ways to minimize risk. For instance, driving down to Florida is one suggestion. However, in spite of all of the precautions I took at home, I came down with Covid. At least when I was home quarantined, I was able to sit outside and walk about the yard and take a drive. I don't know how I would have done being in a room-- even in my home. If there is a significant worry about being quarantined, then stay home and wait for the conditions to improve.
  9. Your fear is shared by others. When we travel. I try to go for a nonstop or a flight with as few changes as possible. It is important to choose an airline that has an excellent record with their luggage handling. Some will choose an itinerary based on cost but with the more stops, the odds increase in having luggage misplaced.
  10. Glad you had an enjoyable time. You were fortunate with the weather as when we were in Juneau, it was windy and rainy. As for internet, many comments were of the type "I am glad I did not pay for this". There was an investment seminar aboard which was held in the Sky Lounge. The connection was spotty and I felt bad for the presenters.
  11. The problem with the chips by the sandwich area is that people use their hands to try them out and then put them on their plate. And the chips are a low level generic brand in my view. If I want real chips, I will bring my favorites from home.
  12. We have had potato chips on our cruises by the sandwich bar. Not the best and seemed "tired". Bring your own if you really like them. I bring my favorite chocolates on board and make sure I leave them in the refrigerator.
  13. There has always been an 18% gratuity embedded in the cost of dining in a Specialty Restaurant. You paid it with the "cost of admission". What they are doing now is removing the prepaid gratuity and using that 18% to cover increases in food, utilities, etc. Now the former 18% gratuity has been added back on as an additional expense. Confusing but the bottom like is that there is an 18% increase in dining at a Specialty Restaurant any way you look at it.
  14. No, I did not have to pay for the king crab. I was surprised how few people took advantage of the seafood night in the Oceanview. You were able to order what type of fish/seafood you wanted (choices of filets were in front) and the cook grilled it for you. The crab was in a big kettle. That night was also cupcake night with many varieties of cupcakes available.
  15. When you are getting off the ship, there will be several tables of items confiscated. I saw irons, knives, swords, handcuffs, weapons, etc. I would be more worried about those items on a ship. People to smoke weed on the ship but most do it discreetly.
  16. As they say, "talk is cheap ". "Show me the money."
  17. On Solstice, there was a seafood evening in the Oceanview. Fresh seafood was delivered while in Juneau and the choices on the grill were Pacific Cod, salmon, and halibut. King crab was also available.
  18. Never saw a cable lock at the pool. I don't put my iPhone in the safe. Don't worry about those things on a Celebrity cruise.
  19. We place them on our bags after we claim our bags before heading to the taxi to take us to the pier.
  20. The first night is usually very busy and hectic as many people show up early it seems. We tend to avoid Blu the first night and dine in a specialty restaurant with a discount. We have had a couple of unpleasant first nights but things do get worked out after the first night. I personally don't see why people talk about an intimate atmosphere. Unless eating next to other tables of 2 is considered intimate...
  21. We did a short cruise on Celebrity and we both commented that it was not the usual Celebrity clientel. Lots of heavy drinking, loud voices and there were a couple of disturbances. People were smoking on balconies. Most cruisers were younger than the usual crowd. We still had a good time.
  22. In my experience, many of the pier luggage handlers tend to be rude. They are lucky to get any amount from me. So in fear of not getting my luggage on the ship, I tend to give $2 a bag. However, if the bag is huge and heavy, that amount will increase.
  23. Never met or saw a male massager on our cruises.
  24. And if you tip with food from home, make sure the food is within the expiration or "use by" date. 😀 However, on that famous fruit cake, I don't believe there is an expiration date.
  25. Let's not confuse what they serve on a cruise with real lobster.
