  1. We finally got through a discussion of children on a Celebrity ship and failed to get a comment like. "Celebrity is my 3 year olds favorite cruise line".
  2. The bottle of whites have been from Spain or California and sold around here for about $15-20. I have the last bottle received here and it is Mer Soleil Chardonnay from California. I am not sure where the cabin steward got them. The Spanish wine was pretty good.
  3. In Aqua, you will be given a bottle of sparkling wine. If you don't care for sparkling wine, we have requested and received a bottle of red or white wine. (Actually, the sparkling wine tastes fine to me).
  4. On our upcoming cruise in February, there had been no excursions listed for two of the ports until this week when they appeared in the Planner. Check periodically and they should become available.
  5. Depends on the ship. On our Apex cruise, there were no discounts available. On Equinox, there was a first night discount of 30% and good discounts on port days. Times may not suit you though.
  6. There have been substantial cutbacks in speakers on Celebrity ships. However, there is usually a naturalist on board for the Alaskan cruises. On the Solstice, we had Brett Nixon. He is entertaining. On our cruise, there were plenty of seats. He will answer questions afterwards.
  7. The lamb is actually very good on the ship. This is from the carving station in the buffet and also in Blu. Having it with apple sauce, mashed potatoes and carrots makes a nice lunch at the buffet. As for dinner in the buffet, I have been surprised by the quality of the ribeye. It is grilled to your order. And it is really quiet up there and I can dress very casually. What also brings us to dinner there is the theme nights from various countries. There was a Greek night that was really special.
  8. There were also free movies in public venues. The schedule is posted in the app and daily flier.
  9. Be careful what you wish for. I have stayed away from the beef carving station at the Oceanview as I found it tough. But it is a good workout eating it. 😀 If you want excellent beef, splurge for a Specialty Restaurant.
  10. We had leg of lamb at the Oceanview on our cruise. They even had the mint jelly. I thought the carved turkey was exceptional along with the stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy.
  11. We mostly cruise in S-class. On most of the ships, you were NOT able to order from the MDR menu. The reason was the distance between kitchens and also the staffing issues. The maitre d' also has a say in the policy. We check out the menus and if we want to eat elsewhere, staff will assist in making arrangements.
  12. Much depends on where you are in the world or even in the ship itself. This affects all internet services on the ship. I can recall the first night leaving FLL. Service made dial up look good! Fastest service was usually in port or late evening/early in the morning. On our last cruise on Equinox, basic service was very good from our room for basic internet functions like e-mail and checking weather, flights, etc.
  13. When we first get on board, they have offered 5-10 minutes complimentary neck and shoulder massages. Afterwards, it was a time to make a deal. Of course, they steer to the down times but the savings can be good.
  14. Before taking Paxlovid, it is important to read the possible interactions with medications you are taking. There were two medications that I had to temporarily discontinue using because of potential negative effects. Should not be taken before reading the literature and assessing risk factors.
  15. On one of our cruises, there were 3 groups each using them. All 3 were on the same channel. Very entertaining as people were communicating to others not is their group. But the loud voices trying to overcome the poor reception on board due to the steel construction.
  16. Thank you for picking that up. NOT is the correct word to use.

    Water

You can purchase water on the ship for $3 plus added gratuity which will be charged to your account. You could also bring a case aboard and have it delivered with your luggage to your room.
  18. But if the OP wants to do their laundry and enjoy the cruise, I can suggest a nice laundromat if stopping in San Juan. 🗑️
  19. It is a general procedure that the private tours meet you away from the pier. They are now allowed to meet individuals as they immediately depart the ship. We often book private tours and with the reservation, we are given directions as where to meet up. As mentioned, it is in Celebrity's best interest $$$ to sell as many tour tickets as possible. On a couple of tours, that has not been pleasant for the tour operator or those on the tour. There are some that sell out quickly. What comes to mind are helicopter tours and encounters with dolphins as examples.
  20. Celebrity says to place them on before you leave home. I am not sure that is a good idea. We will continue to place them on the luggage and carry ons prior to getting on the transpiration to the pier.
  21. It is located on the sheet where the luggage tags are located.
  22. There was a crock pot on one table. Where would someone get the ingredients?
  23. I counted about 7 regular irons. a microwave oven, a set of handcuffs and a couple of swords on the tables to be picked up when leaving the ship. Many large knives and scissors were also on display.
  24. There is a recommendation from Celebrity but we put them on before heading over to the cruise port. Celebrity does not operate the airline we fly on.
  25. Rooms were renovated but varied on the ship. Our Aqua Class cabin had re-upholstered furniture, new mattresses, new comforter, new curtains, new carpeting and new but small balcony furniture. I was told that some Veranda rooms did not receive the update. The common areas were in great shape. The showers always had the clear sliding doors.
