  1. If you have OBC to use, then try one of them. I expect you will be disappointed if you spend more than $35 per couple in addition to your cruise fare and not get the meal of your lifetime.
  2. We look forward to the Elite Tea and attend this event. A lot of tea choices and excellent food selection.
  3. As mentioned, there is a wide variety of clothing worn during those nights. Most wear something like "country club casual" but there will be a couple of tuxes and a couple looking like they are heading to a gym workout. Wear something you are comfortable. We used to get really dressed up but we have toned it down. Also, less to pack.
  4. We have had Maine lobster tails on the Solstice in Alaska out of Seattle. That was surprising. Don't expect to get Maine lobster in the Caribbean, even in the uncharge Specialty Restaurants. If you do order lobster, we ask for melted butter instead of the white cream sauce.
  5. We paid $25 per person for a total of $50.
  6. We always cruise in Blu and we do not get the same waiter every night. A lot may depend on the maitre'.
  7. This has been our experience. There is one extra table in the rows by the windows. The servers reach over as there is no room. It is very crowded --but conducive if you wish to converse with those on either side of you. We have found Blu to be busier than Aqua on other S-class ships.
  8. The sauce is bland but makes a good snack if you are hungry. Stay with the salad bar.
  9. There are 2 menus at Murano. That is their way of differentiating them. The $60 menu is the traditional menu. Good choice and enjoy.
  10. I am surprised that people do not read the bill when it is presented. Our bills clearly have stated that an 18% gratuity has been included. Then we add an additional tip based on service that evening. At times, when we prepay, we do not even receive a bill as the server will say "You are all set. Thank you for coming".
  11. I use them when one Celebrity captain is making announcements.
  12. To me, they are fine overall. I don't bring mine from home. . If you are staying in a Suite, then there will be an upgrade in toiletries.
  13. Not all of the rooms have been updated on the Equinox. This is especially true with the Verandas. So check out the room to see if it has been upgraded. Some were in sad shape before the partial ship upgrade. You will also note that the cabin room attendants have more rooms to be responsible for and some do not have an assistant. As for Specialty Restaurants, Murano is our choice for food quality and service. The menu has changed in the Tuscan Grill and we no longer go there for the food. For the views, yes. As mentioned, there has been a change in the attire at dinner time. You will see fewer tuxedos, suits and fancy dresses.
  14. I have used the service in Seattle, Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Worked like a charm. Hoping that it comes back to Florida.
  15. From financial and benefits point of view, I don't think it is worth it. However, if having the status of being Elite is that important to you, that is a consideration. If you do decide to upgrade, I would double check with Celebrity confirming what your TA indicated.
  16. Sorry, no tub in the Aqua Class Suites. Just a shower.
  17. Totally agree with you. However, even with a passenger being air lifted from the ship on the way to Victoria, we arrived a few minutes early. I just wished we could have arrived a few hours sooner. The Butchart Gardens were spectacular. What I noted was the poor quality of Internet service when at sea.
  18. Be careful what you wish for. We got new chairs on Equinox. Foot rests were taken away and the larger table was replaced with a mini table. So if you want to dine in your room, now plan on your bed or sofa.
  19. Commoners are allowed on that deck. Suite passengers have to mingle with them.
  20. There are usually good specials when the ship is in a port. When you arrive on board, there will be demonstrations of massages, etc. by the Spa. Sometimes, they offer additional specials at that time.
  21. We found that the Reflection had a more crowded feel than other S-class ships. It is definitely more noticeable in the Blu restaurant. Also, the size of the Sky Observation Lounge has been reduced to allow for additional rooms on the Reflection.
  22. Wednesday would be the last day to be safe.
  23. The cost was $25 per person. The menu was limited. You had a choice of appetizer, lunch entree, and dessert. It was relaxing with few cruisers having lunch.
  24. Actually, anyone can use this area. I had thought it was reserved for certain classes but apparently not the case. On one of our cruises, it was not relaxing as spa personnel were using the area for sales talks to small groups. As mentioned, it is also used as a waiting area for spa appointments.
  25. Our room was showing signs of age. Tired look and some minor repairs needed. However, the common areas were just fine. Our favorite Specialty restaurant by far was Murano. Outstanding food and service. They also offer a lunch option there on a sea day. We have done both lunch and dinner. Both were excellent.
