We only have one cc each. We use it abroad .if I buy a couple of coffees, we may pay cash, or with a card. If it costs an extra 1%, we it's not like we spend a fortune on it. If there's a hold on P&O's bill I have never noticed. A few years ago I phoned the card Company to tell them we were going on a cruise and would be visiting several companies, they didn't have my correct phone number so updated it. Next month I got a text. This month you have earned £7.32 on your cash back credit card. I didn't know I had one, so I recon any foreign transaction charges get offset. Lots of important stuff to worry about, so an extra 27p on 2 coffees gets pretty much ignored.

In the 145 years we have been cruising we have never had any issue regarding this. Are we lucky,or what?. DW overcomes any issue be regeristing my credit card with P&O. Fair doos, I used her PayPal account for £4.99 today.

I'm sure they were brilliant ships with HAL and thousands of folk had very enjoyable cruises...But HAL sold them off.

Thanks. We are on Arvia in a couple of weeks. We gave only been on Iona on a staycation cruise. After being locked down for 2 years, it was heavenly. No rush until we need to decide.

Well Vamps we like RC and are torn between 12 nights on Anthem, or 14 nights on Iona. Iona is a bit cheaper, but Anthem will be a bit better. Every thing is reasonably comparable, until you buy a drink.ouch. A plus is that the Anthem cruise moves us up to diamond which means we get 4 free drinks a day each. Decisions , decisions. 🤔

I'm slightly confused. Am I right that you cancelled 2 P&O cruises and that nearly paid for 1 FO ?.

We have been to that Rome a few times over the years. It has changed completely. They haven't started rebuilding the forum yet, but the circus maximus has been brightened up a bit. The ceiling in the sistine Chapel could be with a luck of paint. Second thoughts. No it's not changed much. Next time we will stay on the ship.

Well that was a surprise. Our Arvia cruise is 3 weeks today. Time for the faff. The photos uploaded OK. Credit cards went on OK. Printed baggage tables. Printer worked, ink hadn't dried up, although I hadn't used it for a few months I remembered how it worked ( new wireless printer). Boarding passes printed 13.30 pm boarding time. That's it till next week when I can book all the restaurants without any issues.

Shock horror folks. Cruise line that charge 3 times the price of P&O provide higher quality.

You could then top it up from the stuff you purchased in Tesco and take it to a restaurant the next night and the next and....not that we would ever Do such a thing.😂

It's good that folk have the choice. We normally pick from P&O ,Celebrity, RC and NCL. What ever has the most attractive itinerary and price coupled with date wins the booking. As we do fly cruises as well, rarely look at FO, or Saga.

We enjoy both. The big ships offer plenty of choices re food and entertainment, but we like the destinations as well. We were speaking to some folk on an RC cruise pre covid. We asked ' what are you doing tomorrow?. We're staying on the ship, we saw Rome a few years ago.😂

Well m'Lud ,we do cater for Vegans and Veggies. We do beans of green and Roast potatoes in geometrical shapes.
