  1. Good advice for the O-ships. But if you're inclined to PH's on the R-ships, it's not possible. One just needs to look carefully at what's above.
  2. Maybe some folks would like to stroll the decks with an allowed glass of wine while watching sunset before going to the restaurant.
  3. Yes, we all know that O's personal wine policiy largely depends on the honor system, and some folks are less honorable than others. But in this case @Torquer was asking about taking a glass of O provided suite wine to dinner. In that case, it would seem to be OK, but it might look like he was taking a glass from his own stash which was his concern.
  4. Yes No Yes, but in the , Where you need to reserve, the time are, for example, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, etc, but for the MDR anytime. Depending on your cabin level, you can reserve a specific number of reservations online in advance. You can reserve 2 tops, or shared tables at that time you make those reservations, depending on availability. Additional reservations are space available and your butler make the arrangements. In this case, two tops may not be available, but you can ask, usually on the days you would like them.
  5. The cabin sizes you quote include the veranda. If you want to compare "living space," the PH on an O ship is 350 sq ft; on an R ship, it's 260 sq ft (sizes from CruiseMapper). We find that the design of the R ship PHs is significantly better than for the O ships and the R ships feel roomier than one would expect from the raw square footage and quite comfortable, too.
  6. Doesn't the number of sheets depend on the type of sailing ship?
  7. If it's not wine you brought onboard, yes. "If so, how would someone know this is wine that came with the suite versus our personal wine we brought aboard with us." The wine glasses in the stateroom are diffrrent from the wine glaases in the dining venue, but knowing whether it's O wine or your stash, would be difficult, if challenged.
  8. The rules state that any wine or spirits brought onboard should be consumed in your stateroom and not carried by the glass to any public place on the ship. Both wine and liquor can be taken onboard. Do some people violate the rules? Yes, but flaunting the them puts Oceania's liberal rules for bring wine and spirits onboard in jeopardy for everyone.
  9. Don’t know if they adject it, but in our experience the PPG is adjusted. But what has happened in the past is not necessarily a predictor of what happens in the future.
  10. Simply More includes thae basic beverage package: wine (including sparkling) by the glass and beer at lunch and dinner in the dining venues only. There is a menu of wines that are available by the glass. Other wines are by the bottle only and are not included in any package. Water and coffees, and all non alcoholic beverages are include in the cruise fare, except for a few specialty non-alcoholic beers and wines. Maybe someone can post the current list of wines by the glass.
  11. Interesting. We have used malerone several times with no side effects. Our travel physician recommend we avoid doxi because of the side effects. Yes, the ones you highlight are side effects, but except for the dreams and depression (which we didn't experience) they are not in the common category. In any event folks do need to be aware of the possibilities and should discuss the option with a provider, as you suggested.
  12. Might you be referring to doxycyline, which is known to have these side effects? Malarone's common side effects are different. I do agree that consulting a professional is important. https://healthclinics.superdrug.com/malarone-side-effects/#:~:text=Common side effects are side, find that their appetite decreases.
  13. Yes, that was my experience with our Androids when we had VZW as our cell service. Set up WiFi calling on land, then after that you can use it with the phone in airplane mode and WiFi turned on.
  14. Same here, with our Androids. We can leave cellular on with WiFi enabled and let the phones choose which is best...a recipe for disaster on a ship.
  15. Just so folks aren't confused, Oceania doesn’t do assigned seating times in the specialties, but does require reservations. I know you didn’t mean to imply that, but most folks associate assigned times with the old 5:30 pm or 7:30 pm options of other lines. One could read your sentence as implying that.
  16. We used it for mimosas for one of our in-suite breakfasts.
  17. Personally, I consider upfront tipping a form of bribe. We've never experienced anything but top notch service from our butler without it. Besides, they may work harder to earn an extra tip than they would if it were "prepaid." Do note that the automatic gratuity does increase when the stateroom has a butler. That said, for special requests and really exceptional service, many (including ) think it's appropriate to add an additional amount. Just my opinion; others may not agree.
  18. Just trying to see where world crises might be an issue and have a broader understanding of the situations that might have led to the cancellations. Do you have an issue with the port cancellations you describe as " cancelled for non-weather or political/safety reasons?" I understand political/safety reasons, but what are the "non-weather" reasons? One of Oceania's flaws is it's inability to be communicate and be transparent with it passengers, but O doesn't cancel on a whim, but has solid reasons behind its decision. It's tough to figure those reasons out without the detail.
  19. Yes, as Lyn says, if you don't pay when you book, the excursion is not reserved.
  20. It would be helpful if you said where your cancelled cruises were scheduled to sail and be more specific on your cancelled ports (where and when).
  21. My invoices list the final payment date at the top of the first page.
  22. Have you read the existing thread about the refurbishment? The quick answer is that there may not be any remodeling of the bathrooms (post # 37).
  23. It is rumored in at least one book on martinis that Winston Churchill simply opened the bottle of Vermouth and waved it towards France. I don't waste my energy on opening the bottle; I simply wave it eastward.
