  1. From many of the recent reports this is what it seems to come down to ~ Food vs Everything else. I sincerely hope this is temporary, Celebrity has always been a great cruise option regarding dining imo. Patty
  2. Good to know! Told My DH who is retired Navy that they didn't have Captains nearly as pretty or handsome or FUN as Celebrity! 😊 Patty
  3. They're released randomly, just keep checking in your cruise planner. I have cruises booked that have dining reservations available that are after those that do not. I can't follow the rhyme or reason. My hubby says just book them all then we know for ourselves, where we will or won't book again. He's such a problem solver 😁 Patty
  4. Thank you, I'll give a report in bullet form (not a full review) once I return. I am super excited to get back to cruising, last for me was May 2019 Europe. I am also booked on The Ascent so I'll get to see what Capt. Tasos is all about X2! 😊 Patty
  5. I posted the link of the review that people were asking for. The above quoted members posted that they didn't see reports of this. #1~Asked where it was read and #2~ that there was not one report. I was just providing the review I assumed the OP was referencing. I didn't write the review. Patty
  6. Sad to read of your dining experiences, hope the cruise otherwise was enjoyable. I sail on Beyond Sunday, hoping to give a great report when I return. 🚢 Patty
  7. It's a movie from 1985 I absolutely respect your opinion, we can see things differently. I see a PRO Celebrity Team on here but I also see unkind posts from both sides. I have watched posters for months get attacked when giving a courteous heads-up. Examples: Limited buffet choices, (that poster was in Dec before the Jan 1st changed went in effect) bar service closings in GC and that traditional set dining times were discontinued on E Class. With each of these posts from the get-go, they were told they were wrong and as of today they are still being ridiculed for their first hand reports. I'm pro no club, I am pro cruising and enjoying life but I will always unapologetically look out for the best interest of all. It's just how I'm geared. Calling people whiners and piling on the the laughing face emojis for condescending posts is not kind and that's what I see often. Patty
  8. 100% I call a collective group on here The Breakfast Club. They come from all walks of life but have band together on every post/topic. Sadly being unkind is a hot trend in the world of CC right now. Patty
  9. https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=695679 This is the review I found. Patty
  10. Gotcha sorry! Maybe this option will work for you, for this July we've rented a car r/t anchorage for 3 nights and at drop off are taking the bus to Seaward. This way we were able to use National rewards, car is a Malibu class and I'm paying $93 total plus the bus with ACT cost $69 per person. We have a few tours booked out of Talkeetna and this was the most economical way I found to make it all work and give us the control and freedom we like. I understand this won't get you in a car to Seaward but thought I'd just throw it out there as an idea. I did pay the one way fair once, DH wanted to do the drive since the train had been done. It was quite pricey! Patty
  11. Thank you for sharing your experience! Glad you're enjoying The Beyond! 🚢 I'm in countdown mode ~ One Week To Go! 😊 Patty
  12. In typical posting fashion, no answers to direct questions! Bye Bye! 👋
  13. The only one way car rental option I know of is Hertz and you'll need to call since they don't do online bookings. There is a $200 drop fee on top of car rental price. Patty
  14. Ummm, were you there? Do you have first hand knowledge to contribute? Do you run Celebrity's F&B department? I have no reason to doubt those who gave first hand reports that this situation on the day of post was NOT the same as yesterdays! FWIW, there was a lot more information shared in this thread other than just the original post so from there I feel confident in my response. Why so combative, how does this effect you? Get back to us on that, Patty
  15. This might be because what is now being posted from yesterday is NOT the same experience that prompted this thread in the first place. Patty
  16. Thanks for the info, makes complete sense to me. I am booked on a bus for my transfer but I booked outside of Celebrity so I am not sure what their options will be. Sadly it will take more time to recover than many expected, Patty
  17. Maybe staffing is the issue? I looked in my cruise planner, just to double check and it's not an option for my July sailing. I know the tour options are limited this year as well. As an example, I wanted to get to Tracy Arm Fjord out of Juneau with Celebrity and Allen Marine isn't doing it for my sailing. Patty
  18. You have to call, they do not do bookings online. I believe it is a $200 one way drop fee in addition to the rental cost.
  19. They've told you correctly, Cel doesn't have a train transfer to my knowledge. You can book on your own for the evening train or rent a car or take the bus. I've done all three. Based on what you're planning for your time in Anchorage, I'd suggest the bus. Patty
