  1. On the other hand, when higher category passengers booking with others they reserve 4-6 tops leaving more desirable tables for two for those who are further in line for reservations. Fair enough 😀
  2. Unfortunately, it’s a new “norm” for many airlines now. The other problem is the schedule change. Example… I managed to book award tickets to Kathmandu Nepal and back for September this year first day the schedule was opened. I was notified of the major schedule changes already three times. Fortunately, it still somehow works for our booked tour, but who knows what’s going to happen with these tickets between now and then. Traveling isn’t an easy “job” anymore 🛫🛳🏔
  3. Yes, always log in. I can see more options, but mostly for domestic flights on United. Almost never for international saver awards especially with the partners airlines. But I agree with the prices like that even the standard awards make sense sometimes if I have enough miles.
  4. Did you get the saver awards or just standard? I found the saver awards even harder to find now, United in particular.
  5. I don’t think it’ll be enough demand on Oceania to consider the full dining open till midnight. Sounds that you have found the solution that works for yourself and the issue is not a deal breaker for you. Enjoy your future sailings.
  6. On our recent November 28th cruise on the Sirena we found the GDR opened for breakfast way past the printed hours on the days we went there. The food and the service was even better than we remember from our previous cruises, so we had breakfast there more often. The Terrace was a bit busy on the days we had an early start, longer wait for juice or coffee from the machine. On the other hand, I found the lines for omelets was even shorter than we used to. The experiences are varied for the other cruises, though. I believe it’s also upon the management. Also, the managers and the crew were very friendly on our cruise, especially the ones we were familiar with from pre-Covid times. We didn’t expect much because it was an end of the year cruise funded largely with the FCC holders. Were surprised how it generally exceeded our expectations. There were some problems as well but not enough to ruin our cruise experience in any way.
  7. We asked for slippers on our Sirena cruise in November, as we used to have them on all of our cruises ( pre - COVID). They were delivered promptly, but also there were no other sizes available but large. Slippers were generic - no Oceania logo. We survived 😄.
  8. That wasn’t in our case. And we received the credit that only was visible on the invoice and not on the online account. Definitely, your experience was different. It doesn’t mean that ours isn’t true. That’s why I said “it might be…” and suggested to check the invoice.
  9. I believe that Oceania may not email you back their response to your request. And also you’ll not be able to see this credit on your online account. Ask your TA to email you the guest copy of your Oceania invoice (not their travel agency invoice). It might be that the credit has been already posted on your invoice.
  10. I’m sorry that you got sick, but it seems strange that you commented negatively multiple times on the dinner that you actually didn’t go to. Why not leave it to others who participated and can comment on the real experience. It’s great that you were able to enjoy the other special dining event on the ship.
  11. The same was mentioned on this board before. We also heard about port cancellations from the fellow cruises on board many times. I agree it’s a big disappointment. But for the record, we probably just been very lucky, in the same 12 cruises we have sailed on Oceania we haven’t missed one single port at all. And we have sailed to all continents. Just one time we were very close to miss our port call on the Easter Island. It was very disappointed to everyone, but after the long delay until the early afternoon the captain made a decision to allow the tendering. It was very dramatic process to say the least, but we made it ashore and have a great memories about that visit to the Easter Island. To be fair, I’ve heard about other cruise lines that failed to make it to this port on many occasions.
  12. You better do whatever you can - that penguins are amazing. Wish you best luck. Being able to see the things like that is enough for us to keep cruising even if we’re forced to adjust our expectations.
  13. That’s true. In the reservation it’s just the basic package that was chosen as a OLife perk and was paid for. No other contracts related to it. So it looks like a good will on the Oceania part to offer OP an upgrade without the increase.
  14. It’s great that you’ve found the solution. Even better it’ll not affect the hardworking crew. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  15. I already know that - just like the prices for almost everything else nowadays. What I referred to was particular one person’s gratuities. If you read this topic from the beginning, you will understand.
  16. Hopefully, the gratuities will remain intact.
  17. Once on our cruise our friend misplaced her very valuable ring. The ship security team came to their cabin, turned it upside down and found the ring. Very impressive.
  18. I wonder maybe you can tell us if it’s anything that you like about Oceania cruises. Wishing you Happy New Year and wonderful cruises that you may like!
  19. Very beautiful plate. Enjoy your cruise.
  20. We’ll do it after you reach that loyalty level and then we’ll follow your lead.
  21. It’s very easy to criticise. Remember that he was the richest (second richest now) person in the world. For me it’s an indicator that he’s still fully capable to run all his businesses very well.
  22. This information is from Gate1 tours participants. One person reported that they just flew to Peru to start their tour, spend two days in Lima and were sent back home. Other couple was on the way to airport to fly to Peru when they received the call from Gate1 that their tour was canceled. Very sad reality but even worse for the people in Peru.
  23. That’s kind of unusual way to enjoy your cruise. Obviously no need for you to tip anybody on top of Oceania required gratuities.
  24. Did you mean when you reach the level of included gratuities you won’t worry about the gratuities increase for others anymore? So it’s all about your pocket and not the fairness of Oceania doing their business.
  25. Did you notice that the prices went up for everything everywhere, not just for gratuities? Why not see it the way your cruise will be a bit more expensive. And yes, we always leave some extra to the staff, our cabin crew in particular. I like it if they feel some joy when they’re working hard away from home while I’m on vacation with my family.
