  1. We’ve never been waitlisted for pre- or post cruise tours, but in our experience Oceania can add additional spaces to the overland tours if it’s a lot of interest. It happened in Egypt for us. Ask your TA to find out how many people and what’s your position on the wait list, and if it’s a chance Oceania can add more spaces. And I agree, it will be easier to read your post if you use bigger font when you post next time.
  2. We generally prefer Oceania but sailed on the Pursuit in May. Booked the Black Sea itinerary that was drastically changed when the war started. The ship looked updated. We didn’t have any problems with the engine and there were now missing ports or any delays at all. Everything worked smoothly and we enjoyed the cruise.
  3. Hopefully, better internet is coming to the NCL ships. https://www.thestreet.com/travel/norwegian-follows-royal-caribbean-in-fixing-passenger-pain-point
  4. You can ask Oceania representative to email you the updated invoice. This email should include several attachments. One of the attachments will be for additional purchases and will include all the excursions that you purchased with the prices you paid for each of them.
  5. On the other hand to answer your original question, assuming that you make it to Myanmar I really believe that Oceania overland to Bagan will never be canceled for luck of participation, any other reason but this. People book because of this particular overland and not too many of Oceania cruisers are actually up for the private tours that involve internal flights. I wish you good luck.
  6. On US Travel Government website Myanmar has Level 4 DO NOT TRAVEL warning. I seriously doubt the cruise ships will visit Myanmar at all in the nearest future. We wanted to visit Myanmar and were booked on the cruise that unfortunately was canceled in the beginning of COVID pretty much at the same time when political unrest in this country escalated. It’s not clear to me why Oceania even allows reservations for the cruises with the extended stay in Rangoon at this point. Anyway we aren’t ready to book it again yet.
  7. We did exactly the same even though we already had two more O cruises booked beyond 2022. But to be honest we really don’t mind the short Caribbean break in November - December.
  8. In South America it’s very easy to pickup some wine at the embarkation and then a bottle or two in many of the ports as you go. In case you don’t mind Chilean and Argentinian wines.
  9. We also dropped the B2B Singapore to Tokyo cruise some months ago and booked the European itinerary instead when the cabins were still available. While O removed Hong Kong and Shanghai there are some other Asian ports on this itinerary that I don’t believe will be ready for the March 1st ship arrival.
  10. I agree - the time has changed. People want to wear relaxed dresses at home and when on vacation as well. But sometimes it goes to the extreme. Years ago we were on Celebrity cruise and some “grownup kids” came in their pajamas for breakfast to the restaurant. We were surprised but still survived the cruise😉. Never returned to the Celebrity ship after that.
  11. Sorry, you aren’t able to review the offerings online. We just received the new brochure with all winter 24-25 cruises in the mail. You’re right, it’s strange that they don’t have it on board. It should be some way for you too see it. We will be on board on November 28 and plan to book a new cruise using onboard booking benefits when reservation is open. Can you please find out and let us know what is the current shipboard credit for booking on board. Thanks in advance.
  12. It’s unfortunate that you missed so many ports. No matter what was the reason for cancellations but it’s always risky when you cruise in this region in October.
  13. As far as routing goes, we used Oceania PE air from Los Angeles to LHR without deviation. First Oceania assigned us the direct flight LAX - LHR. This flight was canceled by British airlines due to the strike two days prior to departure. Oceania was able to rebook us on American Airlines with one stop LAX - SFO and then direct SFO - LHR. Nothing is quarantined though - it’ll depend on the availability for your particular cruise date.
  14. In the past new itineraries were available for viewing online about a week or so prior to the booking start date. Also, some TA were able to distribute the PDF file with new itineraries to their clients. Maybe this will help.
  15. I understand that people have their own different opinions on that matter. But personally we just don’t like the taste of Vero water at all, especially when poured in the aluminum bottle provided by Oceania. In the past we were able to pre-order Evian and San Pellegrino to be stocked in our cabin fridge. If it’s not possible anymore I would plan to buy bottled water ashore to bring on the ship as needed and use my own reusable water bottle of better quality.
  16. Here’s my point of view. There’re different reasons why someone is booking their cruise. We’re also “burning” just $500 of FCC from the cruise that we had canceled during the COVID and before Oceania themselves eventually canceled that sailing. It’s going to be the Caribbean cruise in November. As you might suspect, it wouldn’t be our first choice otherwise, but this doesn’t mean that we aren’t going to enjoy it. Being in the Caribbean again is better than just staying at home. Additionally, this cruise was deeply disconnected by Oceania at the first place, so we’ll get to use our $500 FCC and it won’t make a huge dent in our pockets anyway. And you’re right, it’s an additional loyalty credit at the same time - we’re going to be Gold with Oceania after a couple more cruises. Sure, we’ll have a great time.
  17. Actually, it’s very interesting piece of information all cruise industry related.
  18. Over all the years sailing on Oceania we have never witnessed people dressed that “sloppy” in any of the ship’s restaurants to be discussed so extensively on this board. On rare occasions someone was turned off from entering the dining room, but with very few exceptions Oceania cruisers are dressed nicely enough to never spoil our dining experience. And yes, we understand what the dress code is all about.
  19. Normally, the shore excursion PDF is attached to O guest copy of invoice. Ask your TA to look for it there. Even better ask for O guest copy of invoice to be mailed to you. The attachment should be there.
  20. Thank you. That’s in line with the onboard booking pre-covid. It’s also some OBC increase, used to be $100 in the past. We’re boarding in November and looking forward to booking a new cruise. Always book something onboard the ship. Hopefully, winter 2024-25 schedule will be out by then.
  21. Does it mean they don’t offer onboard booking discount of the cruise fare anymore? Or $300 OBC is additional to the fare discount. Have a safe flight home.
  22. For me the point of your postings looks like the total criticism of the line that you probably haven’t even sailed yet. Oceania like any other cruise line isn’t perfect but it deserves some credits as well in my opinion.
  23. We’ve been sailing with Oceania for years and have a lot of trust in what they are doing. Their often sold out cruises proves that mostly they are doing the right things. Also, I have a feeling that the bathroom layout is not a deal breaker for most of Oceania customers.
