  1. This sounds like a great option for those arriving in Southampton earlier pre-cruise… and it’s always a good idea to arrive a day prior to embarkation.
  2. You need to read the description of each tour. Normally there’re more tours beyond just panoramic bus or walking tours that will qualify for OLife. In our experience some tours were quiet good if we chose carefully. It depends on the cruise, though. Some ports of call will have limited offerings to begin with.
  3. To avoid any cancellation fees you would need to cancel the full month prior to the FP day. Otherwise, there’s non refundable administrative fee that will be deducted from your deposit. I believe it’s $250 and should be listed on your invoice.
  4. You don’t have to call just a general line. If you didn’t book with a TA you probably booked your cruise with Oceania travel consultant over the phone. Do you have their extension number? They received some credits for your booking and maybe able to help you with your shorex reservations as well. Also, if you cancel just prior to your FP the nonreturnable administration fee will be applied to your cancellation invoice. I hope you’ll have it all sorted out and will be able to enjoy your cruise.
  5. Hi ORV - Thank you for posting from the “new” Riviera. Great information and photos around the ship. Is it any chance you can find out onboard when the summer 2025 schedule suppose to go on sale. Thanks.
  6. You can try to call Oceania directly. It’s possible that you receive more information about the status of the tour and your position on the waitlist.
  7. I’m picky about my food… and we frequent the finest restaurants on land while traveling and at home. That being said, I wouldn’t call O food offerings mediocre at any dining venue onboard. We keep our expectations realistic though, especially now. Yes, we can understand why on our recent Sirena cruise in December the food in general was a bit different but not by much from what we’ve been used on many O cruises before. Some offerings were not much to our liking, but we still found wonderful choices at every meal, probably just knew what to pick, with most dishes (talk real caviar) being as great as they’ve been on Oceania before. Anyway, we don’t cruise just for food. As you mentioned, the service was wonderful. The same great crew and we met some officers and crew members from our past cruises. Not everything was perfect, internet and entertainment included, but we enjoyed our last cruise as much as any of our cruises in the past. We plan to continue cruising with Oceania if everything stays the same or hopefully even better.
  8. It actually never occurred to me that I need to re-check prices for the excursions that we have booked. We normally take longer cruises, so sometimes have multiple ship excursions booked, even more ship tours now than we used to book before. It would be terrible if I have to monitor not just the cruise prices but the shorex prices as well. My feeling was that the price for particular tour stay the same no matter when we booked it. However it happened to you, so even it’s rare I can’t assume that it never happens now. Still can’t imagine checking shorex prices all the time. Hopefully, while onboard the system will catch the price change like that and it’ll be reflected on the onboard account.
  9. …and only in case your cabin category isn’t sold out.
  10. The only difference is when you activate the WiFi calling on your phone, but you not necessary have to do it as you stated that both you and your daughter have iPhones.
  11. You will be able to send IMessages and call with Face Time and WatsApp.
  12. I believe that your FCC is attached to your Oceania account. You will tell your TA that you have it and they will apply it to your reservation. Just remember that it may not be combinable with some sales. In our experience the two category upgrade sale was excluded.
  13. And this isn’t exactly what I would describe as “having a good time” based on what the OP was asking in their post
  14. If your daughters need a company to entertain themselves, then you are probably looking at the wrong line. There will be none or very few even close to their age. Oceania passengers would love to start conversation with your daughters but I’m not sure this will be something they would be looking for. The small scale shows and very little music attractive to their age they will probably not enjoy either. I’m sorry if it’s not what you wanted to hear. On the other hand, the parents will probably love Oceania after sailing on the other lines that you experienced before.
  15. It maybe because the other staff is off over weekend and the maintenance doesn’t interfere with their normal operation. Weekend maintenance is very common for other businesses as well.
  16. Probably you will be fine, but I’d schedule for a later time just in case. Also, we found that the ambiance on the afternoon cruise in Halong Bay was even better than in the morning.
  17. You can try to contact Bretagne concierge by email. They maybe able to help you with the restaurant reservation.
  18. You repeated this already so many times and seem to be very proud of yourself. OK, we all got it, but no need to shame others who prefer to spend money different way. Not all of them are foolish just to waste their money.
  19. It’s not guaranteed, but on one rare occasion that we booked O air our BA Premium economy flight was cancelled just few days prior to our cruise. O air department was able to rebook us last minute on the alternative flight. We were very satisfied with the outcome.
  20. It’s also important to realize that all of that savings someone is so proud of are mostly available on the less popular cruises that aren’t booked well. I found that almost none of our Oceania cruises were ever included in these sales☹️. The cabins are often sold out way before any sale is available. Our upcoming April 10th Mediterranean cruise has been completely sold out for many months. Obviously wasn’t the part of any recent sales. So, we normally book fast and don’t wait for sales. Like everything in life you get what you paid for.
  21. I believe you won’t be able to add more than one additional reservation number when booking your specialty restaurants online. You would need to call Oceania to find out if you can do it over the phone when reservations for your suite category is open.
  22. We’ve been in Italy many times on the land trips and used the trains often. Please keep in mind that their train system isn’t 100% reliable. Delays and even cancellations due to strikes happen some times. Read the news and give yourself plenty of time to return to the ship.
  23. It looks like you have never been on the Oceania ship. To make it simple, there’s no class system on Oceania. With very few exclusions it’s the same for everyone outside of their accommodation. On the other hand, as it was mentioned above there’re many perks for those who cruise more with this line. Though, separate dining isn’t one of these things. Most of Oceania passengers like it this way.
  24. It’s nothing wrong with ordering couple of appetizers when you want to try more than one. Though, I wouldn’t order two main courses just to send half of it to waste.
