  1. Per your signature, the last tie you were on Royal Caribbean was eight years ago. With all the changes in cruising, there is no guarantee that they would do that for you now either. I also see that you posted last December about your kid's dietary needs, and the Special Needs department was recommended to you back then. Did you contact them at the time?
  2. The Pride is my favorite ship, and it just got out of dry dock. I don't need bells and whistles, I like lots of space per passenger, and Pride is one of the highest in that regard.
  3. Well, of course, but it's a way better situation than having a nonrefundable fare, or one with a big change fee, and being stuck with a flight you wish you hadn't booked. Prices can also come down, and when booking that far out, they often do.
  4. If you booked Southwest, you can always switch your flight without penalty.
  5. I always keep my playing cards for this reason., I have never had an issue, but worst case scenariol they can look up your card number.
  6. A new upgrade announced by John Heald: https://www.facebook.com/100044337464408/posts/809345903886651/?mibextid=SDPelY
  7. While I agree that in general, Carnival appears to be less expensive than RCL, it really isn't fair to compare your two cruises price-wise unless they were very similar in length, itinerary, dates traveled, and type and age of ship. It would be like saying, "Marriott is cheaper than Hilton because I paid less for my 7 days in an old Marriott in Detroit in January than I did for my 5 days in the brand new Hilton near Disney World in June".
  8. I live in Las Vegas and I can confirm. Even the locals places are higher than they used to be. I just read an article last night that in 2022, visitor count was down from 2019, but waging dollars were up 25%.
  9. How did you get to Key Largo and then to the cruise Port?
  10. How much was the OBC? I generally have no problems spending it all.
  11. Then you ask, just like you would at any other venue. I always hated standing in line at the Mongolian Wok on Lido. I love being able to sit down and be served at Jijis during lunch.
  12. Posting on Cruise Critic must be lucky in and of itself because I have never seen anyone on this board say that they lost more in the casino than their cruise comp was worth.
  13. Sometimes they offer spa deals during port days or towards the end of the cruise. In my experience it has not been consistent from cruise to cruise.
  14. I have never been on a Carnival ship where those sales announcements are more than 2 or 3 over the course of 18 hours. If it motivates people to spend more money, and in effect subsidize my cruise, I am all for it. And the reason the cruise director makes an announcement in your cabin on debarkation morning is because you are required to be out of your cabin very very shortly. If you are still asleep by the time that announcement is made, you are probably going to be scrambling to leave your cabin in time.
  15. It shouldn't affect your cruise at all. This is an additional ship, not a replacement.
  16. Out of how many hundreds of thousands of cruisers who have visited Jamaica in the last year? I know way more people who have been robbed at gunpoint in the U.S. than in a port of call. If you don't want to get off the boat in Jamaica (or even choose a cruise that has Jamaican ports), that's your call. Bur if Carnival only visited ports that had zero crime, the would not be able to stop anywhere but Catalina Island in California.
  17. The point is that you shoudn't wait until you get aboard to fix this problem. The earlier you address it, the better the chances are that they will be able to fix things for you.
  18. They have more than enough capacity to store food for a 12-day cruise. Now will you be able to get a good banana after the first ten days or so? Probably not.
  19. I certainly hope Carnival sticks to its guns and doesn't pay anything out for this type of event. If people start successfully suing for things that are completely out of the cruise lines' control, it will be the end of reasonably-priced cruising.
