  1. Yes, you'll be fine Richard. David wore shoes like that for years.
  2. Perhaps if they ask well in advance, but in general, I would not count on it. NA wine, probably.
  3. Bring your own binoculars. Worth it to buy a new pair, trust me. We each had our own pair.
  4. Varies by region. French Polynesia is usually great from May to October. We were in Singapore and Thailand in February, great time of year.
  5. I found the specialty restaurants on Riviera all overdone and rather ersatz. And the MDR quite lacking compared to Regent. Then again, La Reserve was exquisite.
  6. Wow, I did not know that about Starlink, thanks. Is it not also true that the satellites were originally deployed to favour the northern latitudes? So perhaps near the equator it's a bit dicey?
  7. So sorry that French Polynesia's Society Islands are mostly a "washout". After all those sea days. Let's hope the weather improves as you sail west.
  8. Sorry, but what did you expect them to do? Seems fair to me although I can't speak about the TA commissions.
  9. I'm not remembering specifics but I believe it was as Tom stated; we didn't see our bag until it was delivered to our suite.
  10. All that info jibes with what we experienced last year at the Biltmore. But we made our own way to the ship. In this case, we had our car, and parked at the port, but would have taken a taxi or uber otherwise--I hate those buses. Regent did, however, take our big luggage so we didn't have to lug it around.
  11. Oh lucky you, sounds like heaven! I would do Nav in FP any time!
  12. Definitely not walkable, as Kahuna implied, although coming back, you can waltz right over to your ship.
  13. As a former, fairly frequent PG cruiser, I'm sorry to hear this, but not surprised. My expectations of Ponant have been low ever since the deposit debacle at the beginning of the pandemic.
  14. Just wondering since I assume it begins this weekend.
  15. Love Ross. Maybe he's home for Xmas.
  16. So sorry, congrats on the aneurysm repair at least, something close to my heart (lost my mum and a dear friend to this.) Best wishes for the cancer treatment, and let's hope you get to cruise in a couple of years.
  17. Similar experiences with ships toilets, many times. Not just Regent. Always has been rectified quickly.
  18. Odd, our accessible cabin 829 definitely had a small closet as well as the cabinet. Obviously no walk-in.
  19. We got ours a few days before. No upgrade surprise, we got an accessible cabin.
  20. If you like snorkeling, take a boat tour out to Little Bonaire. There are several to choose from. Grenada is known for its spices, so there will be a tour that takes you to a spice farm and to see some of the spectacular scenery. On Aruba we did the submarine tour. Took you down to see the reef, great especially if you're not a snorkeler or claustrophobic.
  21. Interesting. Not our experience, so I guess that will vary.
  22. You are welcome! The info is in the spreadsheet, but you wouldn't think to look since it's a different suite, albeit an accessible one.
  23. Yes, I was just talking about the plumbing problem, not changing the refurbishment schedule--just commiserating with the world cruisers who happen to get the ship at the end of its cycle, as it were.
  24. If was booked on this upcoming WC, I'd be freaking out, having paid the final payment months ago. Could they cancel the cruise just before it to fix the plumbing? I know that won't happen, but I would think it might be worthwhile, considering what those poor folks have paid for an un-refurbished ship.
  25. Sure glad I'm not on the 2024 WC. Too bad the badly-needed refit couldn't have happened sooner, including some major plumbing fixes.
