Bummer. We are southbound to arrive Aug 15th on the Millennium at Railroad Dock Forward. I'll go to Sitka if we have to. Will miss my zip line excursion there.
October is one of the worse months to cruise in Alaska. Many activities are not running, and the seas tend to get rougher. I can't recommend a ship for kids, as I don't have grandchildren.
Hopefully you don't want bear watching, float plane, or some whale watch tours. These book way in advance. There really isn't a tour company that books all ports. They are individual. As mentioned, we could recommend tours you are not interested in.
My big box TA issued a dining credit. I made reservations for Tuscan Grille for the first night and my Visa was charged. Will Celebrity apply that to my final bill? I don't want to call.
Do they send you a link for zoom? I went ahead and downloaded it to my laptop that runs widows. I think I can do this. Just real nervous, as I have never zoomed or anything like this.
It is so easy to pack now compared to years ago. Men were under dressed in a sport coat, dress shirt and tie! Had to buy that for husband to cruise on Carnival. 😉
I would think not. I went many years ago on the Expedition. It probably comes down to what island/islands your ship is visiting. There was never a worry of not getting on what you wanted. We went in groups of 16.
I want to know if they looked at the expiration date of the government tests. Our box expires in July, but is good 3 months beyond. This is stressing me out that I want to just go and test locally.
I tried the chat with On-Point and left a message for an email from them. My concern was our government sent tests being expired, but ok with the extended 3 months. Never heard back. I feel the same. I think we will pay to get tested here in town.
I suggest this after you saw the lady on the Equinox. After you sit down to eat, use one of those pocket size wrapped antibacterial wipes by Wet Ones. I always travel with them. There is always going to be that one person that acts like they were raised by wolves. I don't get all worked up over this stuff. If I did, I would not do any self-serve. You were right to tell the staff.
I remember Jim's post. I think it took guts to spill the beans about his travel partner. I am sure once the cleaning crew got done, no one knew the difference.
If you are taking the train don't wait to book, especially if you are not spending an extra day in Seward. Very popular. We booked the gold star based on what I read here on CC. I see you are going 2023. Plenty of time!!
