I can understand the two-top table closeness. Last cruise on HAL the tables were very close. I found if you exchange a simple smile and nod most people will get the fact that you don't wish to converse. I remember our first cruise in 1983 on Carnival. What, we have to sit with another couple at a 4 top that were strangers. Yikes.

Depending on which cruise line you choose, it can be an older crowd. We were young like you and your wife. I used to cruise to the Caribbean for the sun, beaches, and snorkeling. Alaska is about glaciers, mountains, wildlife, and hot drinks. Choose a cruise that leaves from Vancouver, it usually has better itineraries. If you can see Glacier Bay, that is a treat. Not all lines go there. Alaska is more laid back. Not a lot of party atmosphere. Excursions can be expensive. I am going to say that we have cruised Alaska once and going again soon. We never get a balcony. The ships that sail Alaska are smaller, than the other places. We like to go and mingle on deck and walk around.

Good advise, except the problem with any shirt, cotton is terrible. You end up looking like a wet tee shirt contestant. The fabric gets heavy. The rash guards are poly and dry fast.

Celebrity is offering the Skyglider Gondola to Sky Peak for $39.00 unlimited rides. Anything to do up there besides enjoy the view if you are not riding the zip line?

Glad I am going to Alaska and not some hot humid place in August.

I booked 2 excursions for Alaska. One used my on-board credit and Visa. The second one was Visa. The excursion was canceled. I now have that OBC available. I want that applied to the second one that was all on Visa. Is this something they can do? I don't want to cancel and rebook, as these excursions were on sale.

I love rash guards. I have one short sleeve and one long sleeve. Perfect for snorkeling. So easy to miss a spot when putting on sunscreen. Unfortunately, warmer ocean water and sunscreen are harming the coral reefs to death!! Living in Hawaii for 15 plus years, I saw the decline of the fish and bleaching of the coral. 😞

We have never been on NCL. Sailed Carnival, HAL, Princess and Celebrity. Prefer the smaller ships and don't care about the entertainment. Enjoy decent food. If you like what you are getting, no need to look at others. Just the two of us.

Update........CVM closed through June. Back open and accepting tests starting July 1st.

The CVM testing site at their Canada Convention Ctr. is temporary closed till July 4th or 5th according to posts over on HAL forum.

I was looking at the children's menu on my app for the Apex, next year. It didn't show the filet, only a sirloin.

I agree. You finally have everything figured out, then are thrown a curve ball. We had an appt @ CVM Convention Ctr. in August for flight back to US. Plan B. You could cancel your test with CVM and get a refund. Go somewhere near the pier. We may do that.
