  1. That black attachment does come off, you kind of have to pull/twist it to get it off though. I use a diffuser too and bring my own hair dryer. I've looked at many different diffusers to see if any of them would fit and determined that they wouldn't. Linda R.
  2. Dave and I aren't going on the WC this year....but will be following along with great envy (at least on my part). I enjoyed your blog from this trip and look forward to the next! Safe trip home and hope you can pop back on just to let us all know you're back home. Linda R.
  3. We just got off the Eurodam yesterday; we were in a lowly verandah cabin and our stewards came in twice a day. Linda R.
  4. Looking forward to Wednesday when we board the Eurodam! Love listening to those toots while actually onboard. Yay! Linda R.
  5. Free coffee/cappuchino at the coffee bar (was outside the Wajang Theater on the Amsterdam in 2001). Also, free coffee with liquor after dinner and free chocolates in the Explorers Lounge. Playing there were the Rosario Strings; we saw them on both the Amsterdam and Prinsendam a number of times. We had a blast with those guys! Pasta dishes being cooked in the main dining room; flaming deserts too. Remember the tray they used to bring around to show you the desserts so you could actually see what you were getting? More "recently" ( as in a few years before Covid), the tiny, little sandwiches they had at the coffee bar. On the world cruise, they used to bring down the stuff left over from the afternoon tea and set that out at the coffee bar. The one thing that has never changed? The CREW! They have always been the absolute best we've ever experienced. Linda R.
  6. @WCB How nice that you ran into Sarah! In wondered what happened with her after she left HAL. Glad you saw her. Linda R.
  7. Oh, boy!!! Looking forward to this trip with you guys! We love the Tales of the Pacific cruises too; so beautiful and peaceful there. Stay (reasonably) warm and dry for the AK part, first though! Linda from various WC's and "Ganville".
  8. At one time they did; I've no idea if they still do it. A very expensive flight down there but if the weather is bad, it is swapped for a different tour. I wouldn't want to pay for Antarctica and end up in a different spot nowhere near there. It's a crapshoot. Linda R.
  9. I wonder if they are thinking of closing this up? The smoke from the casino drifts down to the next deck and can be pretty unpleasant. Would probably be an expensive proposition though. Linda R. PS:, Marty, how many blankets have you crocheted so far? 😎
  10. I'm hoping that they are gong to resume better quality food with these price increases. We've noted that the quality of the steaks and pork chop have declined quite a bit since Covid. Linda R.
  11. This is where you find it in Navigator. First you click on "Connect" which you see highlighted at the bottom of my screenshot. Then you click on "let us know". There you can fill out the information that you want. Once I got used to using it, I used it much more than I ever did the paper card. I enjoyed following your trip; thanks so much for sharing! Linda R.
  12. The reason Bora Bora was canceled was because they limit the number of people ashore now. If we were still on the Amsterdam, we’d be going there. Don’t quote me but I think the limit is around 1,200 people. Or, it could be ships at or under that number. I’m not positive which it is exactly, I only know this ship is too big. We’ll miss our usual hours long soak at Matira beach, that’s for sure. 😢
  13. Dave and I ate in the Pinnacle tonight so saw your group there. Henk came by and told us what was going on. We’ll be looking forward to our turn. I’m wondering what the menu was but Tina said it may change. I know they are very accommodating about dietary issues. I think you must be in our hallway as we’ve seen the “please wear masks when entering” also.
  14. Onboard people are saying that there will be around 1,400 passengers on the WC. It was sold out but apparently, a lot of people dropped out or moved over to another cruise. It will be interesting to see how it goes after being spoiled on the Amsterdam all those years. But, it will be great to be back on the WC! It's been too long! Linda R.
  15. Thanks for the info and the blog link. I'll see what else they wrote about for west Africa although I did look at the next entry....I did hear from others that Abidjan was rather odiferous! Linda R.
  16. I will be! https://lindavesadventures.com/
  17. This is the typical way of doing this. If you call, cancel and rebook right then you should be fine. If you have a TA, have them do it. I've done it with mine and actually just did it a couple days ago for a cruise next fall. Linda R.
  18. Did anyone go on the Bandia Wildlife Preserve tour with HAL in Dakar? I've got it booked for the world cruise but want to know how it was. Thank you! Linda R.
  19. All the products available in the cabin (dispensers on the wall and in the shower) are nothing like they used to be. I used to love them but now they all smell like bug spray to me. I bring all my own stuff with me (lot of stuff for the 4 1/2 month world cruise!) now. I just can't stand the smell of the stuff. Even if you ask for an actual bar of soap, it smells like everything else does. Hopefully the stuff that you can get in the spa is the original stuff. Linda R.
  20. Since we are 1) Not disembarking in S.A and 2) Not going to those countries you listed until after S.A. I don't think having an exemption document is an issue. Now, maybe if people are disembarking, that may be a different story.
  21. This should clarify the yellow fever vaccination/exemption. You CAN enter with an exemption letter. https://www.westerncape.gov.za/service/yellow-fever-certificates
  22. Oh, sorry! If you got in right at Noon you should be good to go for 2PM at the spa. Linda R.
  23. Pinnacle lunch is from Noon until 1PM. Linda R.
