  1. Thanks sfred, victoria2 and pushpit! All valud points and I value you all. Thanks again.
  2. Thank you so much John! That is just the thing I needed to hear as I am not good on geographical on historical information. That is some experience you offer with you being on QE before the Ukraine war! Thank you again! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me! 🙂
  3. Hi everyone! I just thought I would share our worry about our upcoming cruise on QE Barcelona to Melbourne October 30. I am a worrier and try to try to think ahead a bit. I hope you will bear with me while I try to make some sense of the situation. We are due to begin the cruise in Barcelona, then on to Crete, then the Suez Canal to Egypt. We are getting increasingly nervous about the current events in the world and hoping that things settle, but don't feel too confident. We have not heard anything from Cunard, but I don't expect to at this point. This started us thinking about possible scenarios. We know that QE is working her way to Australia for the Australian season so we've been looking at the wall map and trying to think of possible ideas. I sure hope they don't cancel outright, which I kind doubt they would do. Maybe shorter jaunts around the Western Med, maybe Lisbon, Canary Islands down around the southern coast of Africa and then over to Australia; what do you think? I am trying to prepare myself and hubby for alternatives just in case. Does anyone have experience in these areas of travel or would you be willing to share some ideas? We would just be happy to be on the ship (QE) for travel back home so that is something at least because it has been 4 years since we were last on Cunard and are missing it a lot. Thank you so much for listening and any advice!
  4. Thank you Roy for taking us along and sharing your experiences! Have a great time on the Crystal ship and will have to check out the Crystal boards.
  5. This is always a good reminder especially in this day and time! We used to be able to go one day ahead but with our next cruise we are going a week ahead so we can see Barcelona pre-cruise and just be more relaxed without the worry of flights, missed connections, etc
  6. I am glad to read that the Sailaway Season from Port Everglades is finally near! The timing works for me and I can see the familiar sites 😉
  7. Great thinking to get it in writing that the drinks package is included!
  8. Thank you for your blog and I hope you feel better soon!
  9. Glad I got to see this as I miss most of the sail-ins because I am usually at work by now. Thanks! What is BHB?
  10. I am so glad to hear you are finally on the ship and being taken care of. Thank you for the update!
  11. Thank you, Roy for detailing your experience and what you will be doing! It will be great to follow you as I have enjoyed your trip reports for years! I hope you have a fantastic trip!
  12. This is one of my favorite morning rituals. Wake up and head to my computer, not checking the weather outside, listening to various birds singing and pulling up the sunrise photos from a Cunard ship! How relaxing and enjoyable!
  13. With Runnerbean, was it the free tour and did you and/or others give an amount at the end? Just trying to get an estimate.
  14. When I initially saw this I kind of got excited for our upcoming 34-night cruise. It did not last long though. It still requires both people to book. The price we see for our voyage is $12.75 pp per day or $433.50 pp per voyage! I am the only one who uses the internet so $25.00 per day (for the entire voyage is $850) or $867 per voyage just does not make sense for me, plus you still cannot use your CWC allotment at the moment against a pre-cruise booking. I will just go with the idea to purchase on board using our CWC credit strategically to get the most out of it.
  15. Great capture of the lightning! Amazing.
  16. Thanks for taking us along and showing this picture! We will be embarking in about 6 weeks....
  17. I knew you would get this....but I found it and was remembering one of our first QE cruises.
  18. Thank you, MrsPeel for your review of your first Cunard cruise! It was a wonderful review from your positive outlook and I could feel your excitement throughout your review! You were thorough and included many details that I am sure will help everyone on Cruise Critic. Thank you for sharing your experience!
  19. I hope you get your things back!
