  1. That's nice with no tax or VAT. My son loses his AirPods every few months. He's been saving up for a new pair!
  2. What future cruise deals can you get while on board a Celebrity ship?
  3. The interesting thing is since a travel agent was involved, they didn't offer to book the land portion themselves and make it work.
  4. Yes, I just changed our cabin to a sky suite in the Retreat.
  5. I would ask to speak to a supervisor. If they can't resolve it, message them through Twitter. I've had great luck that way.
  6. If you order a drink from room service, does your drink package cover it?
  7. It really seems to me that it would just feel like a big window that opens. I don't get the appeal.
  8. ah, okay. You said you were really disappointed, so I saw that as a possible option. I did a self-directed land tour, but I wanted to do it, so that would make all the difference. I'm sorry this happened to you.
  9. Same for us. I had booked the Pan Pacific but then snagged a deal on Priceline that was $600 and change for two nights at the Auberge vs. $500 and change for one night at the Pan Pacific. Well worth the switch.
  10. Since kids only get one week, and sometimes one week and a day, such as Easter Monday, for spring break, you won't see many kids on a 10-day cruise. That would require too much time off for school, particularly since there's the requirement of flying in a day or two in advance on top of the time off for the actual cruise. I recently asked this question elsewhere and the consensus for a week-long cruise was that there was anywhere from 200-400 kids on a spring break cruise with a ship of approximately 2,700 passengers.
  11. Congratulations on your first grandson!!!! To apply the OBC, you can do it online on the cc website. You enter your reservation number for the cruise and choose how many points you want to convert to OBC for that cruise.
  12. I looked on the Celebrity app for my cruise on July 7 and saw a menu for Luminae. Is that the same menu that will exist for my Alaskan cruise, or will it change?
  13. I don't understand why you didn't do the land portion on your own and do the cruise portion with Celebrity, rather than cancel your entire vacation.
  14. I'm very familiar with San Gabriel Valley dim sum and how delicious it is, so this is very promising for our own upcoming Vancouver trip!
  15. This sounds wonderful. We will be there the night before a spring break cruise in March next year, and will be having dinner with a dear friend who lives nearby, so there will be four of us. That sounds like a fantastic way to do dinner. I agree that $100 pp for a dinner like that is quite fair. Thank you for sharing your experience.
  16. I had it added this week after I'd already made final payment. At the time, they said they don't normally do it that way, but that as long as you have it added before final payment it's okay. I'd definitely call my TA and ask them to add it. From my understanding, all cruises are eligible for it.
  17. I just called and checked. This particular cruise doesn't offer a discount to military. Bummer.
  18. I booked a cruise last week for spring 2024. My husband is a veteran and we get military discounts on Norwegian and Celebrity. I didn't think to check with Royal Caribbean. Do they offer military discounts and if so, how do I get it applied?
  19. It's $100 per person for the first two people in the cabin if it's a veranda cabin or higher. I was given $200 off this week: Celebrity Cruises offers military members special savings. Savings are per person, for first and second guest, and are based on type of stateroom: $25 – Inside and Ocean View $100 – Veranda, Concierge Class, AquaClass® or The Retreat At least one guest in the stateroom must be an active, retired or veteran member of the United States military. A valid military ID must be presented at the pier to validate eligibility.
  20. They do make it confusing! And then there's my 90-year-old dad who served in an active war zone during the Korean War, and that makes it "easy" to label him as a vet. The ID.me is an easy way to verify. That's what my husband uses, plus now he has the veteran status on his Real ID/driver's license.
  21. Norwegian also gives you 10%. We have it automatically taken off any fare we look at on NCL when checking out cruises. They also offer it to the spouse of a veteran even if the veteran isn't on the actual cruise. It's a wonderful benefit for those who served their country. I put a screenshot of the military benefit below. It's nice because you always know it's there, and it shows up on the final invoice, too, as a line item.
  22. That is a very limited description of a veteran. You don't have to have 20 years in the National Guard to be a veteran. My brother-in-law was in the Army National Guard for eight years and was never called up for active duty, just did his two weeks every summer after basic, and he is a veteran with a DD214. He bought a house four years ago and used his veteran benefits for a VA loan. I went to dig up where that description came from and found this link: https://usveteransmagazine.com/2019/11/qualifies-someone-veteran/ It looks like that is what the Department of Defense uses for some of their purposes. Here is the VA description of a veteran: https://www.va.gov/OSDBU/docs/Determining-Veteran-Status.pdf
  23. I have already booked this same room in anticipation of my spring 2024 cruise. So happy to hear that the Conrad is as good as it seems.
