  1. I have never heard of that facility being available. However, the Compass Rose menu is very extensive with the popular β€œalways available” dishes plus daily specials.
  2. As far as I am aware it is a simple matter of supply & demand. Longer cruises will have more availability. Guests flexibility on dates/times and/or willingness to share will affect what is available to them. With reservations on-line prior to the cruise (one reservation per speciality restaurant per cruise segment) earlier bookings will obviously have more choice available.
  3. 644 is a Concierge E. As with all D, E & F suites on Explorer, Splendor & Grandeur the bathroom is equipped with tub, separate shower, twin hand basin & toilet. It also appears that 644 has an angled balcony which improves visibility forwards. but eats into the deeper balcony floor area slightly. Some suites on deck 6 can experience noise from the winches directly under but it looks like 644 is not positioned above a tender.
  4. Terminal check-in and boarding for all guests normally starts at midday; sometimes earlier from 11:30. If you arrive earlier then you can still hand over your luggage and there is a seating area to wait in the terminal until check-in & boarding commences. Coffee & soft drinks are sometimes provided. During the on-line check-in process, guests choose a terminal arrival time not a boarding time. For those with Regent transfers to the ship then that choice is superfluous.
  5. On the face of it, $5000 cash off your final payment in exchange for $600 loss of benefits sounds like a good deal. If the change was processed by cancelling the old booking and making a new booking at the better price then Regent could theoretically have clawed back the original on-board booking OBC by deduction from the new price. On the other hand, the on board booking comes with the Regent "Best Price Guarantee" which means that the new price should have been applied to the original booking with no loss of the other benefits given when you made the original booking. (Best Price Guarantee applies when another applicable public promotion offers a better price on the cruise guest has selected. Guest will be able to take advantage of this new promotion plus the added benefit of the applicable Onboard Savings by having their travel agent call Regent Seven Seas Cruises to have the new promotion added to their reservation) As regards the shareholder OBC, can you not just re-apply for the NCLH shareholder benefit to be applied to the new booking?
  6. Thanks for all the reports from the new ship. No experience of Grandeur but on Splendor and Explorer we like the excellent lunch menus in both Chartreuse and Prime 7, with a slight preference for the regular offerings in Chartreuse. I believe the lunchtime daily specials are the same in Chartreuse, P7 and La Veranda.
  7. You are certainly entitled to your opinions based on your experience, and I am sorry that the service on board did not meet your expectations ............ but that it is a long stretch to conclude that the Regent product on all ships on all cruises is inferior to what was offered pre pandemic.
  8. Curious to know in what ways you feel the Regent product differs? Better or worse? We have found our Regent cruises in 2022/2023 to be as good as, and sometimes better than, those we took in 2018/2019. Yes, we experienced the occasional glitch (pre & post pandemic) but always corrected after bringing the issue to the attention of the relevant member of staff.
  9. There are sample menus for each of the restaurants on the Regent website
  10. Thanks for the review. Hope you will provide a review of your suite(s) for "SuiteGuru" to help others in the future. We love Mariner. In our opinion it has the best layout of public areas of all the Regent ships. However, care needs to be taken in choosing suites. Those marked with an asterisk on the deck plans are shower only; the bath/shower combo having been taken out and replaced with a large shower cubicle that many guests prefer. Also for us we find the basic suites to be a bit snug (smaller than Navigator & Voyager), so we usually opt for a Penthouse (2 cabin upgrade offers can help) or Horizon suite.
  11. The included valet laundry does an excellent job pressing gents or ladies clothes
  12. Deck 5 is a good location, but trust you realise that those suites only have a window, no balcony. You have to go up to deck 6 starboard for balcony suites (E grade). Suite size is the same.
  13. As we would say in the UK, Navigator is somewhat of a "Marmite*" ship; guests either love her or avoid her. After years of being put off sailing on Navigator by naysayers, we finally tried a cruise a few years ago and found that we love her. She is a unique ship; small & intimate. Only one speciality restaurant (P7) and not as glitzy as the newer ships (Explorer & Splendor). However the basic cabins are spacious and the lounges & bars are very welcoming. Navigator has an excellent show lounge (theatre) where there is a good view of the stage from every seat. No need to be put off by the age of the ship; she has been well maintained with numerous refurbishments over the years. She does suffer some vibration aft so if you are sensitive to this then book a cabin more towards the front. The suite bathrooms are a little dated but shower fittings etc are recent and everything works just fine. Hope this helps with your decision; have a fabulous cruise 😎 * For those confused about "Marmite", the following links might help: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/marmite
  14. Ensure you are connected to the ship's Wi-Fi then try RegentCruiseReview.com and/or visit the on-board Internet Manager for assistance. The survey can only be completed whilst on board.
  15. Moving away from toilet troubles, can I ask who will be the senior officers & staff on board Mariner over Christmas? Captain, GM, F&B, CD?
  16. Two suite reviews for Navigator attached Navigator_Oct 2023.xlsx Thanks for keeping this excellent resource up to date. Sorry we will miss seeing you on Navigator next Spring ☹️
  17. .......... and the decor on Splendor is a lighter palette which we find a great improvement over the dark hues on Explorer. It will be interesting to see any further design improvements on Grandeur and what colour scheme is chosen for the suites & public areas.
  18. No issues that I am aware of during our two day stop in Istanbul recently on Navigator. Entry (for transit passengers) was through automatic access gates in the new cruise terminal using a bar code issued to each passenger in advance
  19. The Future Cruise Certificate does give the β€˜on board’ booking benefits and is refundable if not used after a year. However there are some potential drawbacks: 1. You are not locking in todays prices 2. The money spent on the certificate is not earning interest 3. It is unlikely that you would have charge-back rights with your credit card for the value of the certificate. Better, IMO, to decide on a cruise and use the change option if you later decide on another itinerary.
  20. Page #1 Post#1 has the full spreadsheets for each Regent ship (with tabs for each deck), into which @UUNetBill transcribes all suite feedback: No need to trawl through every post in the thread.
  21. If you are not happy with the offering you could take a credit for the pre/post cruise package and then organise your own hotel, transfers and tours
  22. .................. but the ship is regularly refurbished, the latest refurbishment being in September this year. We just left Navigator on Sunday and she was in very good order. The only criticism is that the suite bathrooms look a little dated ............. but are perfectly functional. All the suites on Navigator are very spacious, with good storage in the walk-in closets. If you are prone to vibration then avoid locations towards the stern.
  23. I am sure you will have a fabulous time on Navigator. You should enjoy good weather in July but remember that you could get all sorts around our islands. (The comic on our cruise was from Philadelphia but has lived in London for some time; he said he loves Britain but feels it could benefit from a roof πŸ˜‚) Also, with four tender ports I hope you have calm seas 🀞 We are on another cruise on Navigator in late August 2024 so try not to drink the ship dry πŸ˜‰
