  1. One posts an interpretation under one’s “seems” umbrella statement. Best to wait until a few weeks prior to sailing for a definitive publication of any new dress code protocols and/or contact Cunard for a definitive answer, rather than ask CC.
  2. From personal experience. Booked BC for M329H paying under £5600 pp. Today, being well after final payment date, there is not a BC on offer and Sheltered is over £5400 pp. Therefore, although there are staterooms available, don’t think prices have reduced post payment date. Best to book your required stateroom early to avoid disappointment.
  3. Sorry, one should have clearly stated in one’s post, the critique was based on a peak holiday period, not during a pandemic, with the venue attendance being restricted by ship/crew COVID orders, plus any island vacation protocols and potential visitors declining to travel.

To assist. The port is on the outskirts of Bridgetown. There could be a 6 minute walk (able bodied) from the ship to the cruise terminal if no buggy’s are booked by ship. From the cruise terminal to the bus station is about a 20 minute walk (able bodied person), but the walk is flat all the way. At the bus station, purchase tickets at the kiosk, then go to the bus bay where seats are limited, and one may have to wait (stand) for 10/20 minutes. The steps on to the bus are quite steep and although other passengers may assist in boarding, there are no designated employees. From the bus station to the old town centre is about a 15 minute walk (able bodied), again this is flat, but there roads to cross, traffic is busy, sidewalks are not wide, and some people may not respect one’s disability in a rush to get somewhere. Suggest taking a tour, or a long lunch at a good restaurant. If interested in taking lunch, could one post type of food and if inland or coast are requirements.
  5. A small suggestion. A tradition. On exiting the port, immediately on one’s right and we’ll before the taxi, there was a small rum shop. Stop off and buy a full bottle of gold rum (5 years or younger - about $15), place in bag. When at Turners ask for a coconut to drink, last charge was $5 each. They will cut open next to your chair, also supply a straw, then pour in a very generous serving of rum. Enjoy. Sip rum during the day Any rum remaining at the day, gift to the oldest local on the beach. Opened on the island, stays on the island.
  6. There are also condo/house vacationers on St K, plus Towels from the ship. If one is seeking truly a genteel ambiance, then Marriott. T’erds never arrive, if the did, ejected.
  7. 20 minutes out, add 10 for return (heavy port traffic) https://visitantiguabarbuda.com/destinations/turners-beach-bar-restaurant/ On exiting t(e port into t(e duty free shops area, there will be many taxi captains plying their trade with vigour, just ask for Turners and you’ll be directed to a holding area for the shared minibus. Waits are short…
  8. As a comparison to the ship’s tour. Turners was $8 pp e/w by shared minibus 2 Beds and an umbrella was $20
  9. Do not know exactly 100% in advance. However, one thinks if it’s a larger ship, say over about 2000 pax, then possibly a larger berth at Tourelles will be used. This will be the furthest dock from the town.
  10. Forgot to add. There is also a large Supermarket nearby. Stand in front or inside the covered market facing the ship. Immediately to one’s right is a high white building on the corner, to the left of a road junction. It looks like an entrance to an office block, but this is the way in to the Supermarket.
  11. It has to be https://www.eastislandpr.com/charters/amazing-grace/ Never personally taken it, but a business friend chartered for a wedding reception. Think one should definitely go for the food and drinks option to make it memorable Enjoy
  12. Chairman’s Reserve Distillery has a minimum party rule. So best to take a tour including a visit. Then on the return, ask to be dropped off at the market, which is opposite the cruise terminal and a short walk back to the ship,
  13. It all depends on the cruise terminal, there are two. One is almost in the town, you’ll see it from the ship, being a 5/6 minute walk, while the other is in a working port, then about 20/25 minutes away along a busy main road. There are taxis available. Fort de France is a working French Port/Town, not a traditional Caribbean island market town. The main shopping area is along and around Rue Victor Hugo. The cruise terminals will have duty free stores, selling Rhum at all price points, including La Filbuste, with local and tourist items for sale. Take a tour and see the Island’s highlights.
  14. Sorry. Had a thought about causing confusion. There are two ferry docks, one at the eastern end of Front Street, and the other at mid-town. The store is just past the mid-town one.
  15. One’s suggestion would be on taking La Piazza, look towards the bottom of menu under mains. There you’ll see a special Cunard pasta dish. Take it, as the meal is prepared with seafood on one’s choice and prepared (flambé) table side by the HW. Enjoy…
  16. Plenty of wonderful things to see and do as posted by Princess…..But, this will involve taking a tour or taxi, as these places are beyond a short exercise walk….. Help the economy of this beautiful island and it’s people by spreading dollars, in many places, while you’re there. What goes around………..
  17. Additional. There used to be a shuttle (small boat) service from the cruise terminal to the town, just a short sea hop, for $2 pp e/w thereby missing the cab drivers pleas for business outside the dock gates. Please understand they are trying to make a living to feed their families. Don’t know if it’s still running, but no doubt a person with up to date knowledge will post, probably the Princess.
  18. You could or walk around the covered market stalls opposite the port. Either way be prepared to run the gauntlet of cab drivers desperate for a fare, there and back
  19. Very safe….. Take a shared minibus taxi from the port. They usually drop people off at start of downtown, being eastern end of Front Street…… Walk west… Past the ferry shuttle dock on your left… About 30 yards down on the right is the store. You can not miss it. Could take the shuttle ferry back to the ship, or just hail a minivan taxi, as plenty ply their trade up/down Front Street…
  20. Personally, one (or family/friends) would not use anybody except LGV Limos. Haven’t used them since 2019, but do not think their standards would have dropped. Give them a call to discuss your special day, It’s good to talk. The best alcohol shop for range and styles is http://www.gulmoharsxm.com - There really is not another store to compare, especially if one is seeking rare Malts and Rum.
  21. Snorkelling from beach is very poor. For first visit, take an island tour. There are many available but Annie’s would be a good fit. https://anniescaribbeantours.com Next visit take a Catamaran sail/snorkel to Nevis with lunch and drinks included Then, on subsequent visit spend the day at the botanical Gardens. (Don’t forget the free rum tasting which is hidden away at the back of the “shop”) From then on, take a genteel cruisers day pass at the Marriott. No T’erds But, if wishing a more lively beach vibe, the Discovery Beach Bar. No T’erds.
  22. 12 meter Yacht Race……… Not to be missed
  23. Not on Cunard…… They treat guests as responsible adults……. And there.’s no limit
  24. The tourist board will give definite information Phone: 1-787-710-8280 Written Question: https://cupeles.com/contact/
