  1. another idea is to bring a thermos/ water btl that has a cover if the dronk can be poured into that it would be easier to transport.. The ones we have could easily hold 2 drinks! Hopeful and confident it will work out.ok.
  2. OP sounds like you are easy to please.. not much sounded that great. glad you enjoyed the Cruise.
  3. good for local workers. some of the X ships would need refurb of major systems not just updated furnishings!
  4. apologies for off the suite topic..and my post was cut off! I agree M Class thermal suites are not very exciting..they are interior and just had a heated curved bench We prefer the expansive area on S Class with loungers in the middle and sea views.. ((other than the nappers who snore!). On E Class the rooms are interior..but interesting.. salt rm is good. There no views other than in the lounger area which gets alot of very intense sunshine. We hear there's a door to an outside deck but never looked?? The locker/ shower room is very nice. Because we enjoy BLU and the Thermal suites..we are happy to be in AQ Class.. We suspect we will be priced out of AQ Class soon.(we will be in an SV on APEX)

  6. Hope we still get the small long lasting flowers in vase and the Cap Club Rose! We will try to bring a small bouquet but there is just so much we can carry..( no more flower orders on X website)
  7. we always bring a small tray that we use for coffee abd tea (can also use a lg sized plate from the buffet).. now we will be adding baggies and food containers for general foraging..no more canapes in AQ Class! If we still get the welcome btl of bubbly...we drink that with O J We will also start carrying the permitted wine btls on with us.. we will need a luggage sherpa!
  8. I thought this might pose a logistical issue. We are back in AQ Class next time where we heard the canapes have been emlinated. We plan to bring along the permitted 2 btls of wine/ bubbly and snacks.( and little containers for foraging! ) We will have an inf balc so will meet up for sailaway toast with our roll call M O D E R N L U X U R Y. the Royal Way!
  9. thank you for clearing this up.. we prefer making res for the same early time each night.. we usually switch off between Cyprus and Tuscan with 2 Specialty..and one "night off" at the buffet! sounds boring but we try to stick to our home dinner time!
  10. I thought the same..X presentations used to look much better. They may have to start using smaller plates The chic night pics looked ok. Here is my fav shot...modern luxury!
  11. Seems they all stop at "the" carpet shop. Overly long aggressive hard sell imposed on a captive audience. We did in fact leave as soon as we could escape quietly (we don't owe them a carpet sale...) That was the only down side of this port..we did not come all that way to buy a rug! I would suggest if this is the last stop on anyone's tour..just walk off..do not enter! (unless u actually want an expensive rug plus shipping) Our tour was mostly of Ephesus with a great guide. After we escaped the carpet place, we were able to enjoy a great lunch in what was a former inn for caravans : people and their animals( on the ground floor,) . Great food and sevice, and the historic building had amazing original mosaics. We shopped for awhile in the large bazaar..bought some scarves to bring home as gifts, but the aggressive sales push there was a big turn off. Seems once you have even a short conversation they expect you will buy! Wish we could have stopped at one of the beautiful beaches we glimpsed during the bus rides..A memorable port.
  12. mdr res still acceptable on APEX..?thought res on E Class ships was discontinued????
  13. could you get a drink at the Retreat Bar and some snacks to take back to your suite for sailaway?
  14. seems they can make more money with shorter itins ..casino, shops etc has anyone looked into this?
  15. PS.. The original Solstice shows ...cirque style were cutting edge. But I agree M and S Class shows are not worth a vist but E Class is different!
  16. Sorry but I disagree with you on this topic. We have enjoyed a number of the newer shows on E class ships..Some of the best we have seen over many cruise years. State of art theatre, creative, "stories", excellent costumes, scenery and staging,; and very talented performers. Being from NY..we get to enjoy the real deal on Broadway. We do not need copies on a cruise ..We also get to see top notch ice shows at large arenas with Olympic level stars. On Oasis, we thought the ice show was amateurish..ok for kids. Long wait for not much! The high divers were not very amazing, and had very simple routines.. We had to pre book everything and then also wait on long lines. Very disorganized. Not much fun! We did enjoy the jazz and that they had a reggae/steel drum band l, and also the novelty bar that went up and down. I don't think Royal bests X in this area or dining, and def not shops..Coach had stick that was retired yrs. ago! The Diamond pm get togethers were better on Royal than X..but not enough to tempt us to come back. Celeb is run by Royal and when we switch it will be elsewhere.
