  1. We went to a great restaurant there on the X excursion..but not sure if it surivived the last hurricane. it was private, clean, good food and service. Very well organized. Long ride. Glad we took the bus trip. Beach there was very windy! Not a great swimming beach...
  2. Many of the chairs in Eden on EDGE were difficult. Once you are seated, not so easy getting up..esp for those not so limber. What looks good in design may not function well.....an important point!
  3. They give so few veggies on the plates, hardly worth it for 2 asparagus.
  4. Agree..the bid upgrade game is getting out of control. And now buzzers for mdrs on BEYOND. Is this Modern Luxury?
  5. All guests deserve a proper level of service..that used to be the Celebrity mantra. The whole dining rm buzzer thing is a bad trend and it seems that upgrading guests via bids is crowding suite and aqua class dining.. We will be on board BEYOND very soon. I will do a review but it is a short cruise so maybe not the best one to judge by. I did chk our cabin no on deck 9..so far not a creaker!
  6. Pink sand girl Love all your pics.. We have a sky suite ( i think) on side opposite of the Magic Carpet. Hope our bed faces the water view and that we have a big balcony too!
  7. Thank you very much.. dh has shell fish allergies so this will be very helpfil. Looks like no rack of lamb...darn! They did have great soups and other choices on EDGE..
  8. Thanks for your well written short review..Appreciate getting the thread back on track. Did anyone experience "cabin creak"?
  9. Other threads are already discussing this issue.. includes gen ones abt the change and within the live from BEYOND threads..
  10. Those who have used Bayonne port understand the issues. It has been improved but is what it is...Red Hook Brooklyn port area also out of main flow but we found it easier..( QM 2) Were there any other BEYOND issues to report frim the crossing? Now following 2 live from threads....
  11. Has any of the staff, officers etc addressed the " creaking" ? It must be noticeable if folks are mentioning it..
  12. Looking forward to hearing more! Short time in Bermuda..will you just stay at the dock area? Plenty of shops and a few nice places for lunch or a drink .
  13. BRAVO..Well done! On EDGE, Tuscan and Cyprus were our favorites! Normandie had beautiful decor..corner table was private with good service!
  14. We want to eat there on BEYOND but not for the Le Petit Chef.. Will probably have a few lunches if we can't go for a regular dinner
  15. Hope the seasickness abates. Try and get some fresh ginger .. Loving the review...great photos and commentary...some intetesting adventures! Will may book Connie out of Tampa..lots to enjoy in that City. Connie will be like an old friend after we have cruised on EDGE and hopefully soon on BEYOND!
  16. On our Edge cruise those with res lined up at their set time, were checked in and quickly seated. Those without res came when they wanted, also lined up..and were checked in...but the line to be seated was much longer... some restaurants were more efficient than others... Hopefully X has this all worked out. Feedback will be helpful!
  17. We like an earlier time..hope not a long wait and not too crowded..never had a beeper on a ship! Tried to make res at the outdoor venue and Bistro Cafe..not able to right now We did not care for EDEN menu and Fine Cut was a bit too pricey. I am sure things will work out ok once we are on board Learning so much from the live threads..thank you
  18. Each has a few menu items exclusive to that venue unless that has now changed. The ambiance, art collections and sizes vary. Fun to try them all!
  19. Thats what we did for EDGE..picked earliest time at the diff mdrs... 2x for ones we liked best. Worked well because we pre booked. My understanding is that the Issue NOW for those on board or already booked for early and late dining is the surprise "switch"... making res no longer available having been snapped up already. Although we have Luminae, we tried to get the outdoor grille for one night no res are available! Same for Bistro Cafe..unless you want ,Petit chef show ( no thanks) Sounds like it could be a big SNAFU ahead??
  20. Based upon this change, I suggest folks grab mdr res if they can get them.. Lines for ad hoc dining will be winding out the door ...not exactly what many thought they signed up for!
  21. Not a good change in our opinion...lines will be out the door! Does anyone on board now know if The Cafe Bistro still serves Rack of Lamb on Tuesdays? We missed it twIce on EDGE..hope to catch it next tume around
  22. No res for prefered dining times unless folks were lucky enough to get advance res. I see it as a downgrade . Just Wait on line where you think you can get in.. More Modern Luxury!. We will be assigned to Luminae but expect it may be crowded as Retreat is sold out for our upcoming sailing. We may re think Specialty Dining Res for a few nights!
  23. We enjoyed Cyprus and Normandie ( beautiful decor) on EDGE..Cyprus( Greek) is one of the two smaller venues... our fav was Tuscan..( smaller with Fellini decor and ital music..) we had res at 6 each nite...one night our other plans were changed and only place with space for us was Tuscan. Cosmopolitan was where they served breakfast and lunch.( both good).and those with fixed dining, it was more busy and we disliked seating at a long table..many 2s in an attached row... Hope u get to visit them all! On EDGE early arirval was less crowded and great window tables..sunset views.
  24. Thread has morphed...less about BEYOND, more about Bayonne port.maybe conversation should move to Port Board. Port has had many past issues with parking. Cars were routinely spray painted due to proximity of outdoor lot to commercial docks..that I believe has been rectified when things were moved around. Used to be a terrible roadway into the port area and bad outdoor parking surface,..hope by now fixed. Last time there it was not a good traffic flow....long line to drop luggage and another long line circllng back to park.uncontrolled chaos.. To their credit..one time upon return to port, cars and lots were covered with snow..they lent shovels so folks could dig out,
