  1. We like AQuaclass generally, but did not care for BLU on EDGE...bad location, no views, loud acoustics..,,( all corrected on BEYOND) We much preferred the 4 mdr plan on EDGE., Unless you are a Thermal Suite person I would not do the bid on EDGE,..
  2. We also stayed at Emb Suite before a cruise on BEYOND in Nov 2022. Had not stayed there in awhile., Sadly it is tired, worn and old..Our room had alot of dust and broken furniture but a good view of our car in the self park lot. They say it will have a complete refurb next year but we will avoid it til we know the project is completed., Breakfast buffet was still very good. Will be following this review... we enjoyed BEYOND..
  3. following this excellent review..thanks for sharing. The Tuscan seafood lunch plate seems a bit skimpy for the price but seafood costs are high....sometimes way more than Prime beef. We had the tiny lobsters in Luminae on BEYOND ... they were surprisingly quite tasty! hope you continue to enjoy!
  4. We will not order rm service. Have done it once or twice per cruise for bkfst but not at that price( plus tip?)! The.charge for delivery of usually cold food and often incomplete orders is just not worth it.. There will be more folks carrying and spilling food and coffee in the elevs...
  5. oceanview is good when you get back late from a port day/ excursiion...or a day when one needs a break from regular dining other than NEVER eating Tilapia, we will manage..Burgers would be nice..
  6. great review with a bright perspective loved all the photos.. thank you!
  7. We won't miss the welcome bubbly, or afternoon canapes... We will manage with reduced menus and buffet items... IF the food quality remains good. It was EXCELLENT in BLU on Beyond..but we found Luminae was over rated!
  8. Hi Charla It was great sailing with you on BEYOND..short cruise but we loved it. We enjoyed our first ever suite (used all our fcc from cancelled cruises) but we did not care for Luminae compared to BLU.. We decided AQ is a better value for us and booked that for ASCENT.. We'll miss the priority on and off perks but will enjoy BLU and the Thermal Suites Looking forward to your comparative review! Hcat and Sal
  9. Sushi ( and much more), if they have it on EDGE. .Its was great on BEYOND... MUCH MORE THAN SUSHI
  10. We could live with that..esp after being in Luminae on Beyond.not much there appealed. Fortunately, the every day Salmon and other choices were very good...Going back to BLU on Ascent
  11. So what's the answer.? Does Cruise Critic know? If they do will they tell?
  12. excellent review..we had cabin 7312 on EDGE and loved it! We did not care for Oasis st all...more for families with kids..very crowded..dining sub par compared to X but the shows and music were good. We just cruised on BEYOND..like it even more than Edge and recently booked AQ Class on Ascent for 2024
  13. A clean bathroom and fresh soft towels are most important to us, and a room that is well vacuumed and dusted, After awhile the rms will be like some dorms..pigsty! Recently stayed at Emb Suite 17th street., .. it has gotten old and creaky, and the lamps and surfaces were layered in dust.. bad for allergues It will be refurbed next yr.. but could use a wrecking ball!
  14. I agree..S Class area PG area is much nicer and has better steam and sauna rms. Salt rm on E ships is a big wasted space..unless u are into that.. and sittuig in a swing chair is a recyled idea....
  15. List is a good start..but perhaos suggest/ ask mods if there can be a STICKY NOTE at top of Celeb page of the creaky cabins to AVOID on BEYOND.. Also a a cabin review with WARNING! Some creaking of ceilings and clacking of hangars is expected but that noise sounded like the construction went bad somewhere...Could not stand even listening to the video..send to LLP Something is really wrong! We were just on the BEYOND....luckily no creaking`... we were In a basic suite and did not hear any creaking. # 9203 was a non creaker! We just booked ASCENT Deck 10 mid.. AQ with an IV, so hoping this does not happen on that ship..

  17. Basic Swedish on X is usually 50 min.. grat is added into pricing. You can say you are not interested in products. There are also special combos of massage and facial..just had that on BEYOND. Also enjoyed the Kerastase treatment. ( E Class) I prefer the sep masage early on and the facial and hair conditiong towards the end of the cruise.. You can look at your cruise planner for pre booking and port special discounts,
  18. good pass price pre cruise if you will use the facility. we enjoy it when booked in AQ Class.. Def prefer S class PG ( light, bright..sea views) to E Class rooms... pet peeves: those who nap and snore on heated loungers , and non spa guests who get into the Relaxation room and chatter away!
  19. We used to prefer 10 to 12 day itins but a week is about the max we would enjoy now...We are no longer interested in long airplane flights, so cruises from east coast US ports are ok for us. We have cut back on the number of cruises we sail per yr since we retired. Less need to get away and we can chill out every day! I think our longest cruise was 15 days RT to Hawaii.. There were many sea days but the time went by quickly with activities, spa and relaxation, easy time zone transitions. Have never tried b2b ...
  20. May be worth a visit even if not extensive. We visited Altun Ha at Costa Mayo which were very interesting. I recall that the.roads getting there were very rough. How far was San Gervasio from the pier? glad you are home safe. an avoided the recent SW Airline meltdown. hoping to fly from TPA to Islip Sunday..fingers crossed flts not cancelled. Happy New Yr
  21. we Only take ship excursions unless we can walk back to the pier.( have done that when no taxis available for return ( St Kitts,,) We have had many nice beach plus lunch trips or visits to beach clubs etc ..etc Nice clean places.. good food...usually considerate trip mates ship will wait if u are delayed ( various ports,)or will send a new van if yours breaks down..(Costa Rica,) or fails to come pick u up ( st Maarten,) not worth the stress over possiibly missing the sailawy!
  22. I will search..it was in my EDGE AQ Review with pics on cc several yrs ago..but may also be on a disc or another computer file..retrieval is always the issue.. Trust me it was at best a peekaboo view ..and they kept the curtains closed almost all the time. Blu itsrlf is bright and light with sparkly decor...you can always step outside for a photo..
  23. View was of window washers or other equip and life boats,( so curtains were kept closed) Not so on BEYOND. The outdoor area was counted for seating allocation.....Has anyone ever sat out there for a meal?
