  1. No library! When we cruised on EDGE, they used a vendor type cart. Only had donated books... not a wide selection, a few mags. There may have been a few books for sale in the liquor store??? Basically, bring your own. You can download books on your tablet if u have one or donate books u bring with you.
  2. we had a daytime excursion.. butchart gardens, and second stop at winery/ chocolate.. it was a great combo
  3. uk bookings have consumer protections that other places lack.. guess its a trade off
  4. great photos..they look better seo..glad it worked to insert! very nice lighthouse and tour
  5. looks like a great time..esp the gardens.. they are very welll done...great photos!
  6. Great start.. we are looking at ECLIPSE..have there been any updates?
  7. photos are beautiful..very sharp. they might show even better if after you post them you hit edit and then add a space and then repost..(does not resolve your concern but might make a difference).. sort of worked!
  8. search feature used to work much better! not user friendly for most of us!
  9. you could close the bifolds.. We are moving to Silhouette ( after apex).. it was moderately updated and has a few good places to eat dinner/ lunch!
  10. kind of puzzling..OP has many cruises and upscale lines in the history..so not sure why the dress code (now much relaxed) is a surprise?? beach and pool wear without a proper cover up were never allowed.. esp in mdr.. Have seen quite a few in speedos, tee and rubber flip flops..asked to leave.!
  11. we've stayed in IVs Aq class, Outdoor Aft Balc in SV and we had a bigger outdoor balc in SS on BEYOND. Each had its pros and cons. Outdoor balc. is a .good space to drip dry bathing suits..closer to sea life, night sky .and sunbathing, and better views approaching ports. But it can be too windy, too sunny or too noisy. We never even went outside on our suite balc.. too busy out and about! The IV on E Class gives more space in the long narrow cabin, away from the elements, much quieter and can open the big window for views and photos..Makes a nice cozy seating area..husb enjoys playing with the tech controls! We are looking forward to a Concierge outdoor balc on Silhouette...been awhile since we had that! if newer ships offered more variety.. there would be less complaining!
  12. great photos. Our friends will board ECLIPSE in Vancouver( I believe)..later today. This port is on their itin.
  13. uh.. under spa cafe and its kitchen noisy at times...
  14. great point.. being in the water blocks outside noise!
  15. it looks big but prices are high! we get med size in the supermarket in NY and Fla for much less...very sweet! Maybe Alaskan Salmon is a better buy in Alaska??
  16. i learned this from you awhile ago . much better presentation. forever grateful!
  17. interesting convo but we are straying from topic of Tranquility! While we enjoy live music, shows a few drinks, & good food, we do not cruise to party...we cruise to relax, away from our phones..and enjoy the sun sea and sky! I spend much of my time in the solarium and spa..(even with rising prices) ..It would be nice to not have these places turn into an extension of the loudness that is now predominant on many of the ships.
  18. Looks like a big hint by Celebrity on Silhouette.. I saw this posted in a recent review.. It's inside the thermal suite area with the loungers, but a good start. Maybe X could have Quiet Time for an hour or two in the Solarium in the mornings.?? At Sandals Bahamas, they actually had a quiet pool area, and a sep party pool with music and fun etc.. It worked well!
  19. Nice review.. ship looks great! We are booked for a short pre holiday cruise in Dec..Have not been on Silho for many yrs...looking forward to it! Trying Concierge Class. We signed up for a Harbor "cruise" in Nassau, and Glass Bottom Boat in Key West. Been to both ports many times so no need to wander much!
  20. still following.. Did that crab leg really cost $ 79 as I think I saw listed on the Crab Place menu? A bit pricey if it was..even for such a nice size.. Your salad looked great...sorry the crab soup was disappointing. Your posts of the food at EDEN will help many decide on whether or not to do the tasting or reg menu. We did the reg menu and were very happy with our choice to go with that.. I tasted my husb crab cake..he liked it, I thought it was too salty! We were so full, we could not even consider dessert!
  21. great photos..nicely spaced out, interesting info..all well done. looks like a very nice trip so far! our friends are flying to Vancouver tonight..sailing to Alaska Sunday .not sure which ship or what excursions they have planned!
