Looks like a crowded line up......we never had more than 2 ships there and the X Capts always made sure they arrived first... On Ascent, in January, we stayed on board, thinking we'd have more space to enjoy on the ship. Many had the same idea and it was crowded anyhow.. After more than a few visits to SJ.. there's not much new to see..esp in the afternoon (unless the drug store is needed). No time to explore any distant places. Plus the long pier walk We were glad we did stay on the ship b/ c it rained like heck....folks who did get off were soaked! Hope you have better luck!

glad you have a new attendant.. hope missing laundry will turn up...paranoid part of me says incompetence or payback?

Jim.. Sorry about this change ...but we all know safety comes first. What is the port you will miss? Hope they enhance on ship activities to keep everyone busy. .Otherwise you can relax, and perhaps post some pics of the ship!

Bad precedent even if it worked out well for you. Must have been VERY slow! I don't think most Maitre Ds would say yes..but no harm in asking.

We had Capt Dimitrios..the older brother.. Have sailed with him before. He is great! Very personable, entertaining and great knowledge of cruise ships etc He seems to enjoy the limelight!

Sorry...No can do. Due to size and space limits, BLU is exclusive to AQ Class guests and suite guests on a space available basis for bkfst & dinner. Lunch is not served. . Have not heard of any exceptions...other than possibly those who are single in an AQ cabin. you can dine together at a Specialty venue, buffet or the mdr . Maybe friends can put in a move up bid???

i know they say that, but in some cases they simply cannot handle so many staterooms.... We have been very lucky so far. Hope things improve for OP and bad service is an exception...

Bridges was ok but had some unflattering portrayals of Bklyn & NY. Guess some folks think like that!

And they no longer have assts.. They get more pay and tips but I think it was better when the attendants had help, and it was a good training tool.

Even where we are in Suffolk..they are building multi story apts if they xan get them approved. Most are out of character and not the original planned density for the suburbs! Still better than NYC! Anyhow..nice to get away to cruise..enjoy!

dh often goes searching for our bags ..esp when they leave them sitting for a long time by the service elevator without any delivery! No issues on ASCENT..

We still have the big duck. out east but I believe it moved to a diff location..and still a huge attraction..Our local ball club is the LI Ducks & the mascot is Quackerjack. of course.a duck! I grew up in Mineola but live in Suffolk since '75. Lots of changes on LI over the years!

In one of our ports..Princess had the newer pier. X passengers had to use an old ramped rickety wooden pier. It was not a highlight!

The rain forest walk looked nice but did not seem to be a strenuous hike..nice photos anyhow..hope not too buggy! Maybe pvt tours are more challenging,,,??? Of course, not everyone is at the same fitness level. Even when I was much younger, I found the walk up to the Brimstone fortress St Kitts, a bit of a challenge...not that sure footed..and fear of heights! But the views were excellent!

if nothing comes CLOSE, why do we sail on EDGE, BEYOND, APEX , ASCENT and soon XL.. Maybe next ship is CLOSE or NOTHING?? Ad is In the same class as "X the Rules" & 'Marco Polo" ad campaigns..or other flops!
