  1. I hate the Lido cabanas on the Eurodam & NA. Doesn’t seem fair that they take up valuable real estate by the Lido pool. Anyway… thank you for all your wonderful posts. Merry Christmas 🤶🎅🎄
  2. I use an iPhone when cruising. First I select “add files” and select all the photos I want to post. Then I “insert” the 1st picture and hit return twice before I insert my next picture. That adds the space without going back to edit. Maybe that will work for you too. I thank you for this blog and your wonderful photos. I know it takes a lot of time.
  3. Oh no, chaotic tendering. Hope they come up with a better plan by th end of January. I love that you have separated the pictures with a space. So much easier to view.
  4. @NorbertsNiece I hope you are well and had a wonderful time in the Falkland Islands and saw many penguins. I look forward to your pictures.
  5. Instead of standing in line at Guest services, I would tell my room stewards and use the “let us know” feature on the Navigator app. You deserve a shower that doesn’t flood the floor. (You also deserve an experience that does not include barking dogs.) I hope you have a Merry Christmas Day.
  6. The Oosterdam has a taco bar. We enjoy it when returning from excursions after the Lido has closed for lunch.
  7. It is an English term for biscuits. Americans call them cookies. Picture looks like she got them at Explorations Central, a coffee bar in the Crows Nest.
  8. Try logging out and then logging back in. Worked for me to get menus for different ship sailing in a different region.
  9. @Haljo1935 So happy to hear you are safely on board. We will be sailing to Hawaii on the Koningsdam in January 2025 so I look forward to your reports. (But before that, I hope we will meet on the Rotterdam in August!)
  10. I was reminded of this wonderful neighborhood by a story on the Today Show this morning. A man strung Christmas lights from his home to his neighbor’s to support her. The whole community followed. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/2021/12/21/baltimore-rodgers-forge-christmas-lights/ I hope this story brings you some joy.
  11. I was not re-fared. Private fare for SA cruise was offered and reserved in March. HIA was added in April. It shows as a purchase on my “financial history” on my booking confirmation in April.
  12. I booked a private fare and was able to add the HIA package for $50 per day ( this was prior to the increase to $55). Although I couldn’t do it online, my PCC was able to add it for me. I had to pay in full at the time of purchase.
  13. I am so happy to hear that you had a wonderful lecturer this morning. I hope she is still onboard for our cruise. It is nice that The Rolling Stones lounge was available for the overflow crowd. I wonder if you could also view from your cabin TV? Or if it was recorded so you could view it at a later time? Glad you enjoyed the Dive In and they had a suitable GF bun for you. Nathan’s hot dogs are famous in the US. Nathan's Famous all beef franks have no added nitrates, no artificial ingredients, fillers or by-products, and no corn syrup, and they're gluten free. Every July 4th in Brooklyn, NY there is a famous hot dog eating contest. The competitors stand on a raised platform behind a long table with drinks and Nathan's Famous hot dogs in buns. The contestant who consumes (and keeps down) the most hot dogs and buns in ten minutes is declared the winner. The defending men's champion is Joey Chestnut, who ate 62 hot dogs in the 2023 contest.
  14. I have had incorrect charges on my account removed using the “let us know” feature of the Navigator App. No need to stand in line at guest services.
  15. You can eat in the MDR but once I experienced the CO dining room, I had no desire to have breakfast or dinner in the MDR. If you would like to experience the MDR, I suggest you have lunch there. You can transfer your reservation to a TA, booking a flight through HAL makes no difference. Aft cabins are my favorite, enjoy your cruise.
  16. Thank you @kazu for getting the Daily started while Rich is cruising. I appreciate all of the regular posters. Today’s complete quote from Henry Wordsworth Longfellow: I do not think the quote is specific to men. Remember, Longfellow wrote in the early 1800s. You could easily substitute “person” for “man” Generally, I find Longfellow poetry to be uplifting. Here are the closing line to one of his most popular poems, The Psalm of Life: Let us, then, be up and doing, With a heart for any fate; Still achieving, still pursuing, Learn to labor and to wait.
  17. I am enjoying reading the Daily in anticipation of my cruise. Is “Ed” your cruise director? If so, I always find the morning Coffee chats enjoyable. I always loved the Culinary demonstrations and am very happy to see them back. I have never seen a Cruise Critic Meet & Greet posted on the Daily. I am anxious to hear your impressions of the “almost a seas day events”. Wishing you a fabulous day!
  18. I’m impressed! You look fantastic. We travel light…carryons only. My DH will have black dress pants, white shirt and 3 ties. I will have a black skirt and 3 dressy tops. We eat in the MDR every night unless we are in a specialty restaurant. My fellow cruises on the 1/29 sailing will be happy to know that we will be using the excellent HAL laundry services.
  19. I love a signature suite in a longer cruise because of the extra space. if a reasonable upsell is offered from our verandah I take it. (I’ve never taken the first or second offer.) These pictures are from the Oosterdam. Dedicated desk with window plus a vanity area I used to do hair/makeup. Full sized couch, there was a glass coffee table in front of it but my DH kept running into it in the middle of the night so we had the steward remove it. Bathroom has tub with jets and shower plus a separate shower stall and two sinks.
  20. I appreciate you posting The Daily. I would be interested in what the Captain has to say about Punta del Estes during his talk on the Main Stage at 10am. Also, I find it odd that the “Up Close” presentation at 2 is on the Panama Canal. I was hoping for presentations from naturalist/ lecturers about the area in which the ship was traveling.
  21. I have an iPhone and have not had a problem with battery life while using the Navigator app. Google “what apps are using my battery life” to investigate more throughly.
