  1. The remaining 6 workers are now officially presumed dead. Rest in Peace. Roy
  2. A bit of good news, the construction worker reported in serious condition has been discharged from the hospital. Roy
  3. Today's sunrise is sort of from my 2019 Prinsendam Grand South America cruise. The cruise had ended by March 26 but this is from the Fort Lauderdale Amtrak station before boarding the train home: Roy

  5. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. As you can imagine, I've been very distracted and will not comment much on the regular things, but have not been to Saipan. I think I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Chilled Sour Cherry Soup, Spaghetti Amatriciana, and Rhubarb Crisp as served on MS Zaandam March 26, 2017: Thank goodness the ship was able to radio a mayday and alert the highway authorities a bit before hitting the bridge. They think they were able to stop traffic before the collapse. They think now there were a maximum of 8 people on the bridge at the time, a crew repairing potholes. One uninjured, one in a trauma center, and 6 still missing. The situation looks grim but but the cold water may have been a benefit. There's a saying that you aren't dead until you're warm and dead. It's almost 12 hours now so hope is slim but a miracle may still be possible. Roy
  6. Our own @Lady Hudson frequently sails Vision of the Seas out of Baltimore, and she is stationed here year round. Roy
  7. That does not appear to be the case. It apparently was caused by a massive power failure on the ship. Roy
  8. A devastating morning in Baltimore with the collapse of one of our major bridges. A support on the Francis Scott Key Bridge was struck by a freighter about 1:30AM causing the bridge to collapse within seconds. The wreckage will block access to the inner harbor including our cruise terminal. It is believed that about 20 souls were on the bridge at the time and probably lost. Roy
  9. Any improvement with her physical symptoms? I can imagine trying to take her to a doctor would be a nightmare if it became necessary. Roy
  10. @summer slope according to Disney site you should be leaving from Terminal 8, and they give this street address: 9155 Charles M. Rowland Drive Port Canaveral, FL 32920 Roy
  11. Are you willing to divulge what ship you will be sailing? Port Canaveral has 2 different areas and the approach is a bit different. Roy
  12. Delayed arrival after being delayed at HMC would also be a factor, as well as waiting for authorities. Roy
  13. I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise, from my 2018 Crystal World Cruise. March 25 was a sea day on Crystal Symphony from Nuka Hiva to Pitcarin Island. Roy

  15. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. I like the Bed-in-for Peace day idea, wish those a Greek connection a great day, as well as a great holiday for Hindus. It is also Maryland Day. On this day in 1634 the Ark and Dove brought the first European settlers to what is now Maryland, landing near the mouth of the Potomac River. I think the two days in history are both worthy of celebration although I am not into golf. Hamilton quote seems partly true. I visited Cobh just once, in 2011, on my first modern HAL cruise, a Rotterdam 6 transatlantic. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Cantaloupe, Pineapple, and Orange, Turkey Roast with Giblet Gravy, and Cranberry, and Pineapple Crisp as served on MS Zaandam March 25, 2017: A cold start to the day but it should warm up pretty well. I finally got my federal tax return accepted yesterday. Roy
  16. This surprises me. The schedule is now out with 2 Panama Canal Cruises for the Koningsdam. Up to now the two first Pinnacles have been barred from the canal with passengers because the lifeboats stick out and interfere with the view of the pilots. I wonder what has changed. Roy
  17. Today's maps. Fleet nicely spread out. I could almost have also gotten Oosterdam into the Caribbean map. Roy
  18. Today's sunrise is another from my 2015 Grandeur of the Seas B2B out of Baltimore. March 24 was a sea day from Baltimore to Cozumel: Roy
  19. Today's sunrise is another from my 2015 Grandeur of the Seas B2B out of Baltimore. March 24 was a sea day from Baltimore to Cozumel: Roy
  20. Let's hope the hold on BHB toots is off. Thanks Leanne, Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
