  1. Ouch, Jacqui. I was wondering if you were expecting a power outage as it seems to me you posted very early. Prayers that your power remains. I know we had some power outages in the area but I was able to come out unscathed. Underground utilities are a blessing but flooding can also interfere with them. Hope you heal faster than expected and your power stays on. Roy
  2. The fleet is starting to get a bit spaced out. Just one map today: Roy
  3. You might want to reconsider that. If you are referring to February 20 you are the only ship in town that day. Roy
  4. Ah, the radiation. I left home at 11:30, was in the waiting room at 11:45 as requested for my 12:00 visit. I think I was on the table for just under an hour. I think the radiation itself was about 15 minutes but most of the time was devoted to getting me in the exact position needed. The machine has capabilities for both delivering radiation and detailed imaging. The first movements were the techs sliding me an inch or 2 into center line on the table, looking at images, and moving me in ever smaller increments, down to 1/8 inch or so, and they also put marks on my chest and hips to make positioning me next time a bit easier. I think this process was repeated 2 or 3 times. There are 2 spots of concern, one on a rib and the other at my hips and I think they may have radiated the chest and then zeroed in on the hips. I was off the table about 1:15, changed and out of the office about 1:30. The remaining sessions are Wednesday at noon, Friday at 2 (my physical that day is at 8am), Tuesday at 3:30, and Thursday at 1. Based on my radiation experience 2 years ago I do not expect significant side effects. I have no symptoms from the cancer so I do not expect the treatment to make me feel better. The initial concern was the rising PSA which is not a a problem in itself but an indication that the cancer was doing something and the PET scan found the 2 spots that need attention. The next step will be to see what happens to the PSA in a month or so. I see my regular oncologist on the 22nd but don't necessarily expect improvement by then. Roy
  5. Today's sunrise is another from my 2018 Crystal World Cruise. On January 9 Crystal Serenity visited Cartagena Colombia. We were not yet in port but I think the line is the painter for a group of life rafts. Roy

  7. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Ann, and Dixie. Condolences to @Crazy For Cats, I'll celebrate the people responsible for Balloons and Choreographers but no interest in doing either. I enjoy apricots but have not had any recently. I'm not familiar with Connolly but he seems to have quite the sense of humor. As an aside, I may be one of not many dailyites to have cruised to Switzerland, sailing the Crystal Bach from Amsterdam to Basel. Some interesting dates in history; I'm sure many dailyites will celebrate the iPhone. I have not been to Corinto. The meal did sound awfully familiar. My alternative is Classic Caesar Salad, Rustic Lasagna, and Strawberry Sundae as served on MS Prinsendam January 9, 2003: It's too warm to snow here today but the storm will bring HEAVY rain and later strong winds. I would normally be starting my Tuesday grocery run about now but instead was out well before 7 and back home about 8. I generally beat the rain but had a few sprinkles the last mile or so coming home and by the time I was in the house it was still ok but wouldn't want to be out much longer. It's a moderate rain at this point but I am hunkered in for the day. Roy
  8. Back in 2011 I combined 2 of my favorite ships. I sailed Blount's Grand Mariner from New York into Montreal and a couple days later boarded Symphony back to New York. The ships did not exactly meet in Montreal but the Aida Ship in the photo is about the size of the Symphony: Roy
  9. I really wasn't expecting problems today and don't expect any although I was on the table a lot longer than expected. The big question is how much good it will do and that will take some time to find out. I won't say any more for a whie as I am 40 minutes away from 3 meetings, will surely be tired when I get home, and will run my errands tomorrow early to try to stay ahead of the coming storm. The computer ate my finance report so I had to recreate it when I got to the station. Roy
  10. Today's sunrise is from my 2018 Crystal 2-ship World Cruise. January 8 was a sea day from Key West to Cartagena: Roy

  12. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. I'll pass on the days although sometimes it is better for couples in toxic relations to go for a new start on their own. Funny quote by Vegas. Hats off to the Haarlem Newspaper. I'm sure Washington's State of the Union was great. It's nice to be out of debt but not realistic. I own a fair chunk of the National Debt. I visited Napier in 2018 on the Crystal Symphony but bypassed it in 2020 on Crystal Serenity to explore New Zealand's rail system. The meal sounds interesting. My alternative is Papaya, Pineapple, & Orange, Turkey Roast, and Pineapple Crisp as served on MS Prinsendam December 8, 2019. Roy
  13. Well, we ended up with 2 mini-parades, the one most of us saw and another about 5:15 to 6:15. RCI with typical bellows, Princess with standard toots, and Disney with musical tunes. I think I said Disney would be here every Saturday but that's not quite true. Dream is doing short cruises, mostly on a 5-54 cycle but a couple of even shorter cruises until she leaves in thinkearly May. I think their itineraries are pretty limited so as they get more ships their variation is in the form of departure ports. Thanks Leanne, Dave, and fellow addicts. Have a great week. Roy
  14. Awesome toots. I got buffering and reloaded just in time to get them. Roy
  15. We do now, every Saturday since the season began. Roy
  16. Probably Princess next. Love boat toots and Ascent toots. Roy
  17. Yes, obviously I had not had enough coffee when I posted. Roy
  18. We haven't had snow in my area for almost 2 years, and did not get any yesterday although it came fairly close to us. I don't have any travel sunrises for January 7 but found this from 2 years ago today. I noted then that I had cleared off as much snow from my car as I could stand without taking a warmup break inside. Roy

  20. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie, and Debbie. Happy Sunday. Bon Voyage @kochleffel. I haven't seen the Globetrotters in years. I like the quote. I am a terrible typist but even with the typos the results are a lot better than with my handwriting. A great day in Astronomy. I think it's also the 82 Anniversary of the Day that will live in Infamy. I have not been to Tunis. The meal sounds like a nice side dish. My alternative is Classic Caesar Salad, Broiled New York Striploin and Pineapple Crisp as served on MS Prinsendam January 7, 2019: Roy
