  1. It's not well advertised but you can order dinner off the MDR by call room service during dinner hours. They'll deliver it for free (I do tip them). Also whether dinner or room service, after you order from your stateroom, if you leave the room they will still leave the tray there for you
  2. Some more datapoints...Ran a test on my upcoming sailing, no extra info like bidding metrics therefore its probably only for certain ships and since @otownfins bid we can see it is on the Beyond. May only be for certain ships, perhaps only the Beyond or all the E-Class ships. Here's my sailing Solstice, bid AQ to Sky and bid again form AQ to RS...In both cases I bid, waited 5mins and refreshed the page. No extra bidding metrics nor any "outbid" email after bidding the minimum (I checked spam). RS:
  3. Thanks for sharing your experience, hopefully the connection will improve over time.
  4. It appears those on the Solstice Mex Riv. all now have it on the last night. At least now you can enjoy a first night specialty discount without missing out on the prime rib
  5. They're two different things although free graze usually means they're eating grass. Free graze has more to do with being more humane than its diet. Both Guy and Ramsey add butter to their patties which adds some fat and flavor. I actually love the smash patties but they're somewhat a pain as each patty requires your attention; most people accidently cook them to well done.
  6. Yes and I'm not a huge fan of them especially since they're rather expensive
  7. FYI, if you're on team "don't care about the internet", this thread isn't for you. Reached out to X on twitter and they surprisingly answered quickly. The good news is they did meet their most recently published timeline:
  8. Costco has American Wagyu for $5.69/lb which is about $3 per burger patty with tax. Add some salt and garlic powder (or garlic salt), don't pack them too tight when forming patties and however you cook them, never press on them. The results will be a "99% burger" or a burger that's better than 99% of burgers that you've ever eaten.
  9. With the lawn club, yup, dry age ribeye and prime chunk, it's all about the beef and the buffet/Mast grill isn't using these. I just wish the mast grill was on par with guys.
  10. Wow, it now shows a countdown timer! My last bid was made in August for a late Oct sailing and I never saw any of that. I bid from AQ to Skysuit and received an email that I didn't win a few days before the sailing.
  11. How do you cook yours, Prince Harry style which super-crispy without being overcooked? That's my favorite...Broil until 90% cooked, blot and wrap with paper towels and microwave for 60seconds
  12. Three biggies when it comes to buffets... 1) Dirty hands, did they arrive with clean hands? 2) Touch the food, did they touch the the buffet food (some "sample" before deciding if its worth of their plates real estate and others may pick up something like a bread roll, determine its not soft enough and put it back)? 3) Combo of the two/OCD, they'll pick up say 5 pieces of bacon which are all stuck together, with their bare fingers they'll separate them, now with their greasy fingers they'll at best grab another food items tongs to get more food and at worst, be OCD triggered by how the bacon strips looks on their plate and elect to put some back
  13. Pretty much agree, I will just add the 25% are for those going to sit down dinner while the overall count is less as some will eat in the buffet.
  14. This is cruise CRITIC, what were your top 3 pros and top 3 cons?
  15. To the OP @Definitas Sounds like you only have 3 options... 1) Email the execs, see if they agree with your mindset that this is indeed worrying 2) Research every ports accommodations on your itineraries, have a hotel picked out in case you get forced off the ship 3) Don't cruise until you're satisfied this is no longer a worrying trend
  16. They're a necessarily evil for charcuterie meats, deli meats, bacon and sausage. While it's possible to pay a large premium to avoid these, cruise lines meats will certainly have nitrites
  17. Insert your seapass into a slot machine, do a room charge for your OBC amount you want to exhaust (any casino crew member will be happy to help you do this) and once the room charge is complete, hit the cash out button which will print out a voucher. Bring the voucher to the cashier for cash whenever you want. Two notes, if and when you decide to do this you will be flagged from further gambling on that sailing, you will need to convince a manager that if they remove the flag you won't do that again; so if you want to gamble at all wait for the tail end of the sailing to do the room charge. Certain ships, I believe the reflection, requiring you to do slot room charges at the cashier. It's a similar process of a cashier room charge who gives out a voucher, you insert it into a slot machine then cash out and you'll receive a new voucher you can cashier out.
  18. I take anything the BCC says with a grain of salt yet for the Solstice and Millie offers they casted a much wider net than usual.
  19. I find most waitstaff above average and occasionally exceptional yet other pax usually do as well so there's often a wait for their section and if it's long we'll pass in favor of being seated immediately. Wanted to point out it seems nearly every meal, regardless if it's the same staff or not, seems on some ships that the wait staff asks if we have any allergies (I don't). Always felt that there should be a better automated way but then again, asking every meal reduces the odds of a mistake being made.
  20. Did have a quick question, is the ship time fixed as CST or did you have to change the clocks at all?
