  1. Just sharing some datapoints...So they dangled these Mex-Riv free cruise offers to casino players, myself included, multiple times and often these were the only sailings players could get fully comped. Currently, pricing is a mix of cheap and expensive. There are only two 8-nighters, the Nov 17th one is over Thanksgiving which is far cheaper than the earlier 8-nighter. Current prices for insides: Comped offer:
  2. If this thread gets moved to MSC, start a new thread on here in X and mention Celebrity in the thread title. Something like "Previous Celebrity cruiser just boarded the..."
  3. There is enrollment upon arrival where it's easy to get an appt
  4. Celebrity is doing this because they think they can. If bookings weaken, they'll lower the initial prices
  5. I've done the itinerary four times this past year (one was on Carnival) and have two more X sailings in 2023. I've spoken to many who find the itinerary bland but more or less went for the cruise itself. PV is the best port offered if just want to walk along the boardwalk around the water but its an one and done for most. Cabo isn't the greatest walking around as you're in the marina where there are lots of locals offering you questionable-illegal things; however, during the right season, the area is one of the places on the planet to see humpback whales breach My opinion is I'd love to see do a season from Hawaii to the French Polynesian (Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, etc) and back to Hawaii. That would be a dream come true for many and the best part is you're flying in and out of Hawaii; I'd be shocked if that itinerary didn't sell out
  6. If it was a game, X would be more likely to keep the major title of CEO but for some reason they removed it
  7. Every auction including online like ebay or in person can have fraud With the Apex SV, those are often in demand once people realize the cons of an IV so yes, someone probably bid a very high amount. FYI, on my May Beyond sailing a SV was more than both CC and AQ
  8. Been on her four times since the pandemic, no enforcement
  9. I'm pretty sure this is the beginning of the end to AI. I always felt they implemented this because during the pandemic while cruising was banned, many were going to AI land resorts including those who haven't ever been to them before
  10. They have a few towel racks on the lido/pool deck, there's no attendant, you just take them; no checking the towels' out
  11. They're unfortunately busy calling people like me who were browsing sailings. They call and ask if I need any help booking...My fault for answering yet I hope its an: "your cabin has been upgraded!" call I occasionally receive from Carnival
  12. Actual cruise executives state the exact opposite, that they directly compete with land vacations. We have to remember, globally, half of all sailings go to the Caribbean which also has the highest concentration of AI Resorts. There are many pros and cons to both cruising and land resorts yet most AI Resorts are indeed truly inclusive and often a far better value specifically in the Cancun/Playa Del Carmen area. Another land vacation wildcard is simply renting a beach house for a week or two on a rental site like Airbnb which can be incredibly cheap in rural Florida. Lots of pros and cons there as well
  13. Totally understand. Yes inflation is real, many inflation experts state from 2020-now the rate is around 18%. X, like many other corporations, increase their rates well beyond 18% all while REDUCING the services/product. At many fast food establishments their prices only went up by the rate of inflation
  14. The X way, twice a day stateroom service, evening public restroom attendants with cloth hand towels, no lido/pool towel station and fewer kids. Those are the only positive differences I can think of
  15. Another scenario that can happen that I've seen before. You bid near the minimum of $500 for this example. You check a month later and now the minimum is $1,000. Now there's probably no chance of you winning
  16. You should consider doing this again but as a poll. Also, as it has been pointing out, it isn't the CEO/Presidents change, the drastic cutbacks started in 2023 under LLP's watch
  17. Once they pay off their debt, the prices will decrease? If I could a vegas bet, I'd say there's a 0% chance of that happening. They have strong bookings so decided to get aggressive with increasing the rates and if bookings weaken, they can simply lower the prices the closer they get to the sail date. It's a shame they've introduced ZERO passenger friendly improvements other than Starlink
  18. It's probably nothing more than strong bookings and stock prices. They can change their rates in seconds. All the large cruise lines have occupancy based dynamic pricing which can progressively lower the prices as the sail date nears and they can go to "fire sales" rates close to the sail date if there are lots of vacant rooms. The Mexican Riv and Puerto Rico embarkation cruises typically have difficulty filling their sailings and so they often resort to fire sales
  19. @hcat I do agree E-Class are better than M/S yet I wouldn't pay for them. We occasionally pay for a CA or Vegas musical and we regularly pay to see comedy shows at our local comedy club
  20. Thanks for the laugh, X! So let's just take a look your sister line, RCI. On RCI, you have the main shows which can have branded broadway shows like Cats, Mama Mia, Greece, etc, these are shows you generally have to pay for on land. You have a dedicated comedian lounge, you have ice rink shows, you have the amazing high diving shows, you have the sing-a-long pian bar, etc. I spoken to various people who state after they've gone a certain number of X cruises they stop going to the shows https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/entertainment/shows
  21. Generally speaking you get one night of a comedian, one night of a magician and the rest of the nights are musicals ranging from a concert style to what they call a broadway style show. The shows are fleet wide yet are different on the E-Class. I cannot speak specifically for your sailing and it could change at anytime but will probably have Life, Rock City, Broken Strings, etc
  22. Totally get that yet it is pretty significant that the previous CEO and president leaves and the CEO title is eliminated
