  1. BTW Greg, did you catch the news about Jacob DeGrom?......Tommy John surgery. For $185 million, wow.
  2. Are they at least showing the NBA Championship or the Stanley Cup? They had them both showing on the Legend last week and even a few MLB games.
  3. Yeah, the pics of the Heroes sports bar are making me reconsider taking the September cruise I have booked.
  4. I'm on the Legend right now and they have Travel and Food networks on the TV.
  5. So, it's 6 chairs at the bar to belly up to watch NFL on a Sunday afternoon. Oooook.....
  6. Greg, I'm booked for September on Venezia. Let us know if they're showing the NBA finals, Stanley Cup, MLB, etc. onboard. I'm assuming anything of that nature will be shown at Heroes. TIA.
  7. I can't remember if you can keep your phone on your regular service while sailing out of the Cruise Maryland terminal down the Chesapeake Bay for the 8-9 hours until the ship passes over the Bay/Bridge tunnel. And if so, is the reception better than the ship's wifi? Anybody have recent experience? TIA.
  8. Tell her the food will still taste the same at dinner. 😉
  9. Is there any place to view sports events? Casino bar?....Brass Anchor Pub? TIA
  10. Actually, as a NJ resident, taking the NJ Transit train directly to NYC Penn Station and then a 10 minute cab to Manhattan Cruise Terminal is much easier than driving the NJTP, driving across the backed up Bayonne bridge and waiting in line to pay $25/day for Cape Liberty terminal parking. But, I still look forward to my RCL cruises too.
  11. From April 2012 to March 2013, Carnival Miracle sailed year-round from New York City, New York to the Bahamas and the Caribbean.[7] I realize that lots of NYC cruisers live closer to port, but why have RCL and NCL sailed year-round without pulling out their ships but Carnival has had it's difficulties?
  12. They had the Miracle there for a few years, and like the Splendor, Carnival had trouble filling the ship during the winter sailings.
  13. Don't know about horse racing, but wouldn't be surprised if they had the Kentucky Derby this Saturday. Never noticed if track has been shown. Carnival used to show more, including on the stateroom TVs. But those offerings have been diminished. Plus, the newer ship builds have much smaller sports viewing venues.
  14. RCL ships with Playmakers sports bar show just about every NFL game on Sunday, which packs the house, to go along with all other nationally televised NFL games. They also show an ample amount of college football as well as most other major sports.
  15. Carnival corp. okayed the premise of sports gambling last June, and Princess was to be the cruise line to first offer it. Apparently, something is causing a delay. Perhaps, they'll have to expand some of the dedicated sports bars if they finally get around to it.
  16. If the space that's lIsted to have Heroes Bar is an indicator, there won't be an adequate area to view the games with such an anticipated volume of people. And from the report I've read on the newly reappointed Luminosa, there's no sports bar whatsoever.
  17. If watching football is a priority, Royal absolutely blows Carnival away with coverage of multiple games.....especially if the RCL ship has a Playmakers bar onboard.
  18. I enjoy spending NFL Sundays at Playmakers and the Crunch Roll w/parmesan fries is my staple there. Ate the Portside BBQ a few times. Try to get there when there's no live music playing. Trying to eat with company and shouting over the amplified guitars and voices was a challenge.
  19. Guess MSC is going to find out real soon as the Meraviglia will arrive in NYC (Brooklyn) in 2 days to start year-round sailings.
