  1. Glad your experience was great. We were on the Beyond last month, our second post COVID cruise and were disappointed in the food. Most of it was very very very salty. A few nights things were good but most nights, not so much. We found things much better on our first cruise back on the Summit last July. Maybe it was just us but we found it lacking and are hoping things are better when we go to Iceland this summer.
  2. I realize that but on our Beyond sailing last month you could not make them in advance, only on the ship. Our sailing was pretty full too and we had no trouble eating when we wanted. You can book specialty dining in advance but not My Time.
  3. That worked, sort of. I went back into the my cruises area and found it and now it shows...funny thing was the original cruise showed the new cabin......Like I said, Celebrity IT strikes again
  4. Last week I canceled our August Iceland cruise out of Bayonne and re-booked/transfer it to the following cruise that starts in Iceland. The timing worked better, the price is way down so that is good. My TA handled it all and once it was sorted I got a bunch of emails from Celebrity showing the cancelation of our My Time Dining bookings and my wifi purchase too. I even got the refunds for the wifi. Looking at the booking on Celebrity's web site it shows the correct cruise, looking at the app, it still shows the original cruise.....so how long do I wait before I call Celebrity?
  5. We had booked the Eclipse out of Bayonne for August 2024 but decided to change to the next sailing that starts in Iceland. When I talked to my TA about the change he did mention the $200 change fee but he also had good news, the price of the new cruise that used to be more than the original cruise had dropped over $2000. Even after paying the change fee and losing some TA OBC I saved a ton of money. Always watch your prices right up to final payment.
  6. We were there in mid January and the show times were 7 and 9pm.
  7. We were able to make reservations by going to each dining room once we were on board. WIth 4 different dining rooms and interchangeable menus it was never a problem.
  8. Our experience on S and M class ships the Captains Club concierge will set up a a meeting place, usually one of the lounges and escort small groups down to the tenders. Check with them once you are onboard because it does vary from ship to ship.
  9. He will be able to attend the events with you but he won't get things like the free bag of laundry and the free wifi minutes/30% wifi package discount.
  10. We were able to order from any menu on the Beyond a few weeks ago. We tried them all bu enjoyed the Cosmo the most.
  11. We stayed at the Hampton Inn FLL/Cruise Port North on Rt 84 last month. We won't go back. Too many problems that no one, including Hilton/Hampton corporate want to address. Great location but a lousy property.
  12. Lyft/Uber was really easy for us last month. Side note, you should really put this on the Florida Departure board.
  13. Pre-COVID was had pretty good success in getting upgraded when prices dropped after final payment. They won't offer it, you have to call and ask and push a little bit. Post COVID we have only been on two cruise and both were pretty full so no price drops.
  14. It is great technology but I think they only use it on a closed loop cruise. One that starts and ends in the US.
  15. IF you are not planning to play during the cruise why not use Ship Sticks? Saves you dragging them to the port, on and off the ship, etc.
  16. Thanks. In my mind customs and immigration is just one big thing....No US ports before Boston. The trip goes around Iceland, to Greenland, one stop in Canada and then Boston. BUT, does anyone know if they have Global Entry at the port?
  17. Looking at a cruise from Iceland to Boston this August and trying to sort out our return flight. I understand the challenges of getting from the port to Logan but I can't find anything about how long it can take to clear customs. Recent trips out of Bayonne and FLL were closed loops and we did nothing more than walk off, get our face scanned to verify we had been on the ship and we were off and running. This trip is not a closed loop so I am left wondering what to expect. We do have Global Entry and we normally just walk off with out luggage. TIA.
  18. We were on this cruise and appreciated her updates and her professionalism. The wind was blowing at 45 knots that morning and the channel into St. Johns Antigua is very narrow. Better to have an unplanned day at sea than a ship stuck on the bottom because someone decided to take the risk. Earlier in the week we ran into her while walking around and she stopped to answer some questions for us. My wife wanted to know how she and her seafaring husband managed rasing kids being a way so much, or do you have kids? The reply, "Not that I know of...." I asked how a lady from Las Vegas which is in the middle of the desert became a cruise ship captain. Turns out she grew up in California and fell in love with cruise ships when her parents took her on a cruise when she was 12....She is a real asset to Celebrity.
  19. Sunrise behind the wake of Celebrity Beyond on the way back to Ft. Lauderale from the southern Caribbean. Sony A6400, Sony 18-200mm lens.
  20. Another vote for Blurb. The software is easy to use and the quality is really good. I like people who make me look good.
  21. Once you are onboard you can reserve your dining times. The staff will always try to keep you with the same team because it benefits them in the long run. I have seen the same thing on the M and S class ships and my time dining. They like to keep you with the same staff as much as possible to you are more likely to add an additional tip at the end of your cruise.
  22. I got to the pool deck a few minutes later....
  23. We were on Beyond two weeks ago in the Caribbean. I got up early one morening to make a sunrise picture and get some early monring light images around the ship. Can anyone say chair hogs? Good luck getting 9 together before 7am
  24. The best deals that I have found are during a Black Friday or July 4 sale when the wifi packages are often cut by 50%. Sadly we cannot get the Elite discount on that sale price most of the time. The 30% off/90 free minutes is an either or deal so I have come to question the real value of the "benefit" since I can often it cheaper during a sale.
  25. We were on the Beyond last week. Looked the MC over and found the seats are nice and comfortable but you are outside and the space is not that big really compared to our old favorites the Sky Lounge and the Rendezvous. Cute idea but I just don't get the big whoop with it. No tender ports so I cant address that issue.
