  1. Laundry is one benefit some other cruise lines offer elites. NCL does give a bag of laundry as a perk. MSC does not offer any laundry perks, either with Diamond status or staying in a Royal Suite. We did not mind spending for 1 laundry package for our cruises in YC. We do not feel like we are getting “nickel and dime” like we do in NCL Haven. We get almost all we request without issue.
  2. , 16001 and 16002 are at end of the hallway. There is a door there and you can access lounge right from the doorway, not needing to go down hallway
  3. We have done Meraviglia, in the YC, 3 times. As JAGR mentioned, the enclave of the YC is forward , top decks of ship. Some YC suites, like the Duplex Suites, are aft. Still receive YC benefits. 2 Royal Suites have a cabana reserved for their use on the YC pool deck. This leaves 1 that can be purchased for daily use. there are only 3 cabanas on board. All cabanas at Ocean Cay must be paid for use, including the Royal Suites. Best drink package, WiFi and spa access still included in YC booking. Meraviglia recently had a refresh so, should be beautiful. As usual😁

  7. Actually, most US airlines do offer free change and cancel. We do it often. Difference goes into our “wallet” with airlines, to be used for future purchases.
  8. We normally book our cruises 1-2 years out. We booked 4 new cruises with MSC right after our Iceland cruise got cancelled due to pandemic. We asked and received refund for that cancellation which included entire payment as it was within 1 month of departure. We realized that MSC offering FCC with 25% bonus would drive up fares. Our cruises booked at very good rates. Since then, MSC changed and altered one reservation and required we pay increase in fare. One cruise changed from 15 day to 7 and 8 day cruises. Increase was $2,000. Another 12 day was cancelled and MSC moved us to different month, itinerary and ship. Became 7 day with increase in fare, again. We requested refund for that deposit and received it. Next one was 15 day which MSC removed from site. One week later , it became a 12 day cruise. We had to call and get our old booking number and cabin reassigned to new cruise. MSC tried to increase our fare on that one but our TA pushed back and kept our “ original” fare. Final payment for this cruise is July 11. This will probably be our last cruise with MSC, for awhile.
  9. It is a relatively new development for MSC. MSC decided to make YC deposits non refundable so people would stop booking “ possible” cruises and then cancel at final payment deadline. MSC felt they could not sell YC suites at such a “ late” time. They do allow a change to another YC cruise. But, only one change. When they cancel the cruise, they should refund the deposit.IMHO
  10. Our last NCL cruise was first week of May. First sailing since 2019. Haven Cabin. Agree with Bird, Food has become sub standard. Haven restaurant was just so-so. Our favorite speciality this trip was LeBistro. Used our entire speciality dining perk for it.
  11. Yes. Just call the Haven Pre concierge number from welcome letter. They will set this up for you along with other preferences you might have. We had pitcher of water and orange juice in fridge when we arrived. No need for water package. Could have saved us $, as we bought it before cruise. Never needed the boxed waters.

For a seamless embarkation process, please make sure to review our health and safety protocols in place in our terminals and to bring: A printed copy of the embarkation form (available in your cruise ticket) A printed copy of the mandatory health questionnaire duly completed and signed within 6 hours prior to the embarkation (available in your cruise ticket) The original test results certificate or vaccination and recovery certificate (paper or electronic format) must indicate that complete vaccination has taken place within the last 9 months (270 days). Those passengers who received the booster vaccine are exempted from the 9 months restriction. A proof of COVID-19 insurance clearly showing the COVID-19 risks coverage. A valid identity document
  13. If you are sailing in the Caribbean, from US port, you do not need Covid insurance.
  14. Bret is a TA , who books quite a bit with MSC. They receive updates before the general public. Cruisers have reported that they received emails before embarkation stating that printed results now required .
  15. MSC does not specify which tele health Covid test labs they accept. Used to be only Binax Now AG Card test from either eMed or Optum. We have done the eMed tests four times now. I know NCL promotes their own contracted lab for doing the same tele monitored Covid test. They require printed test result. Seems like many are getting into the game now,

  17. Also, these are the only cabins that have TWO bathrooms on the Meraviglia. This feature along with hot tub on balcony makes these cabins highly desirable. You will enjoy your YC experience.
  18. Tipping each time is very individual. Our cruise in November was great and we tipped all the amazing staff. Was not on NCL but MSC Yacht Club. Our last cruise on NCL Haven was May 2022. This time I decided to follow Gary’s advice. I wrote a short letter to Butler outlining our preferences and what we would like during ,the week. I also indicated we were celebrating our 45th anniversary. I enclosed a very large tip in the envelope indicating that we appreciate his efforts during our stay. We received amazing service for the first few days. Last 3 days were phoned in. Nothing was ever done to acknowledge our anniversary. Butler was at the end of his contract and already mentally leaving the ship. We wished him well and blessings to his family, however, did not tip anything additional. Each cruise is unique with unique service staff. On this NCL cruise, the Internet Cafe manager was our hero. He did an amazing job, following up with us to see if our issues had been solved. Our day at Glacier Bay, there was no internet at all. He called us to let us know when it was restored and gave us our minutes back for several failed log in issues. You can never predict who will be the amazing person who makes you smile and takes care without expecting anything but a “ Thank you and smile.”

  20. On our last sailing, we got upgraded to Haven from Club Suite within 2 weeks of sailing. Called concierge regarding new luggage tags. Found out that they have outside company do the luggage tags. Any changes or new reservation made within 30 days of sailing….. no new luggage tags issued. Company needs 5 weeks lead time. We had tags for old cabin sent by mail . Printed new cabin number tags at home and used those. Most important info on tags is Deck # and cabin #.

  22. To avoid confusion, pay attention to Cabin Code when looking at reservations. -H is for true Haven. Ship may or may not have Haven restaurant. H suites are all over the ship not just in Haven proper. -S is for Suite. This are also all over the ship. No access to Haven Proper. -M is for Club Balcony Suite No suite perks except what is mentioned in category description.
  23. This is not totally correct. NCL ships have Haven Suites and Non Haven Suites We have been on Pearl , in a suite. Cabin designation is S- Had breakfast and lunch in dedicated restaurant and butler. No access to Haven proper. On the Jewel, we were in Haven Suite. . Cabin designation is H- Breakfast and lunch in dedicated restaurant . Butler, concierge etc. No Haven restaurant . Must use main dining or specialty restaurants. Had access to Haven pool and lounge area. Also note… NCL has changed mini suite to Club balcony Suite. Cabin designation is M- Slightly larger balcony cabin with a nice bathroom. Not a suite - you do not have private area for breakfast and lunch or butler. Does include some special perks , such as laundry, bottle of sparkling wine and bathrobe in cabin.
