  1. I was wondering because I have read some posts in the past where people indicate Apple having "a mind of its own" in terms of auto-text. I noticed one larger post above where there were some odd word choices and it looked like auto-text and not words you would choose. Not a big deal as I could figure it out. Anyone on a ship taking time out to post should get some leeway as it can take a lot off personal time and effort to do this.
  2. It is the same on both sides of the ship. Looking down is basically the Promenade area. Depending on the ship (Royal Class) and which side, you might see some outdoor tables for a dining venue. Pick the side over the Shops and likely less people. We have been in one of those mid-ship cabins on Emerald Deck a couple of times and never found an issue with the Promenade below.
  3. A lot of the travelling public will consult with a TA about which line to go on and what their ships are like and food and so forth.
  4. At least I make life easy for my TA. I provide all the details for booking a cruise and don't need hand-holding. I do my own airfares. If I have a lot of re-pricing to save dollars, I make sure they are compensated out of my savings. And I wouldn't cancel a booked voyage over these latest changes. I do realize my TA is not always making a lot since I get a generous discount. Hours spent re-faring or re-booking reduces their income while I am saving money. I am only trying to be fair. We don't book tons of voyages, but I know what I did was appreciated and recognized the extra work involved - especially back in 2022 when PCL was more under-staffed and getting through was not easy.
  5. Someone posted a good workaround to this if the total cost is better. One person orders the prix fixe for $15 and the other orders $3 dessert. That is either $18 or $3 if guest has the free meal. Next visit, the other person orders the prix fixe and the other the dessert. If all a couple wants is a pizza each, that is $17.00 if on Standard and paying. Just depends what you want to eat. Also, on another thread it was reported no problem sharing the prix fixe. Could be variations among the ships as this new way launches.
  6. I'm not so sure the new fees and package contents will make an appreciable difference. People are creatures of habit. It Princess stated expectations are near correct, then about 75% of the passenger load is on one of the two packages. That leaves 25% approx with Standard. I imagine a good number of those who were used to Ocean Now will pony up the $15. The load on resources may not change at all - and could even increase from folks who will want to get their $15 worth by ordering more than ever. IDK for sure of course, but it will be interesting to see reports come in if Ocean Now and RS service delivery improves, stays the same or worsens. Poor service is going to result in complaints and guests wanting their $15 refunded.
  7. Nothing at all. It all goes back to what folks deem as value to them.
  8. @Ocean Mouse, the same DR is used for all DR lunches and breakfasts. Lunches are normally only on sea days, with the exception of turnover days.
  9. Yes, most Inside cabins on Coral and Island are accessed using the Starboard passageways. PS - Welcome to CC and the Princess Forum.
  10. Except they cannot use a negative sounding word to name a package. How about "Plus Light"? I see $45 as the max and $40 as the min. How about $42.50? Ha, ha.
  11. The press will always report and have photos and videos of major accidents and aftermath of terrible weather events. We all see this stuff, but I don't keep them in an album or anything. I get the sentiment for the guest needing the airlift and hope they are fine, but I thought there seemed to be an over-reaction to interest in a helicopter hovering over the ship. I wouldn't want to be the first responders in a bad situation - it must be a gut-wrenching job at times.
  12. Sometimes I don't either.
  13. No, it is a Princess ship (appears to be Royal Class, newer). Rotterdam is a reference to a port day which is a typical notation.
  14. I believe this messaging should be held off until we see if it is for real. I am not aware of anyone getting official word from Princess on this. At least one of our active TA's on here would have heard about it ( @AtlantaCruiser72, @ceilidh1). Okay, so it's not working right now, but there is nothing we know to indicate this is permanent and yet you seem to be convinced this is so.
  15. Sorry, this post doesn't make sense with the OBC. How can you put down OBC for a cruise? Do you mean FCC? There is no place to put a remainder of OBC?? If FCC, then the excess FCC will be in your CC Member profile - as long as it didn't expire.
  16. All TA's have access to POLAR, but some are afraid to use it as they don't know it well. Others prefer to have a Princess employee make a change so any screw-up is on them (I don't follow that logic totally because the TA has to have the smarts to make sure the Princess rep doesn't screw up). I prefer a TA that will use POLAR themselves - all things being equal.
  17. No doubt these boiler-plate emails are all queued up to go out automatically with the old text and they have not gotten around to stopping them and creating new ones.
