  1. This is one of my top 10 rules for a Princess cruise - never depart the ship with PCL owing me money.
  2. I am thinking this may happen depending on what browser and O/S people use.
  3. Although cheques still exist here in Canada, I for one hardly ever use one. They gather dust in my desk drawer. Use credit card shopping 99%. Utility bills either auto-post to credit card or auto-debit from bank account. Do 98% of banking online, including bill payments, fund transfers, e-transfers, e-payments. Also use bank's phone app for some of these at times.
  4. This makes sense in principal, but when and how does Princess collect a guest's bank information?
  5. @compozer could check their profile and review what email address they are using for Cruise Critic. Also, within the member profile area, this page (see below) has settings and perhaps they aren't set to receive notices? https://boards.cruisecritic.com/notifications/options/
  6. Seems to me anyone taking this tour has little control over the process and situation and must go with the flow. We are able to and choose to travel on our own. I don't suppose I would enjoy dealing with the restrictions that you seem to have to put up with. I hope you get some more info to give you some peace of mind.
  7. Your last two sentences are true. PCL in North America also does not simply post a credit balance to the CC on file. They process in accounting and then send to a third-party company that cuts and mails cheques/checks to guests. Apparently this saves them money. Presumably this whole process is cheaper per $1 refunded over bank fees for credit cards.
  8. I would think like anywhere else, that aisle seats are going to be gone if you wait until arriving at the airport. IDK from any personal experience with Bob Wood, but passengers check-in at 24hr mark ahead of their flight. Load up the airline app on your smartphone (hope you have one) and use that to check-in and do seat selection. That should be the latest you leave it and the latest you could do it. Perhaps you get an earlier opportunity. Chances are, they are using Qantas - seems hard to believe they won't tell you a thing. They aren't going to operate radically different ferrying around Princess guests versus folks who book directly with them. Why don't you approach them as an interested customer for an escorted tour of Australia and find out your answers that way. Don't mention Princess at all.
  9. Yes, that is what I was attempting to explain. ETA: All Princess cruises are sold with Fare Codes. There can be several active at any time and more than one may apply to you. It is up to guest to elect the Fare Code that suits them. Princess.com only shows you ONE Fare Code, but is supposed to be the best one for you. Princess CVP and outside TA's can see all Fare Codes eligible for you. You can also see these for yourself if you have access to a good 3rd party booking site.
  10. Was your wife the primary name on the booking? I am thinking the primary needs a card before the secondary. And typically - for a couple - the primary simply flags the card as usable by both persons.
  11. You found a better deal and 99.9% it was a different Fare Code (3-alphanumerics) than you originally booked under and what you booked under was no longer available. Although, why would a guest want to simply re-fare by adding $10 to Plus package if the current fare code is much lower, saving money? Generally, when you want to "re-fare", it has to be a cancel/re-book if the original Fare Code is no longer available or guest wants a new Fare Code with the lower price. It can be a pain, but the pain should be easily avoided. First, a FCD can be moved to the new booking as long as it has not expired since making the original booking. Check this first and advise TA or Princess to extend the expiry date before processing the cancellation. You should also be able to have an EZ-Air reservation "lifted and shifted" over to the new booking. I have also had this done with SOBC (Shareholder OBC). You will lose any perks, OBC, that may have come with the original Fare Code, but you will gain anything that comes with the new Fare Code.
  12. Where did you get the idea of $13 for a pizza? A La Carte Pizza is $8.50.
  13. I am going to teach you how to tag other CC Members. The easiest way is if you are replying to one of their messages in the current thread - just use the QUOTE button. For your situation, you need to use this method: 1. Type the "@" symbol. 2. Start typing the Member's CC Handle - like this: @Prin 3. As you do so, a pop-up list of matching Member Handles appears. As you type more letters, the list shrinks in size. 4. Continue to type letters until you see the Handle you want in the list. 5. IMPORTANT STEP: CLICK on the Handle name you want - even if you have typed all of the letters. 6. After you have done so, it should look like this: @Worldtraveler 4727. 7. The Member Handle is completed in your post with a dark blue highlight. This means you have successfully tagged the member and they will receive an email notice that they have been mentioned in a post and a link in the email will take them right to the spot. 8. You can hit spacebar, period, and continue typing your post after the Handle is displayed as above. As for your land tour, I am taking in all the information posted and I think you should do this strategy. Setup a checked large bag (30" or whatever you intend to take). Pack that with things you don't need until on the cruise. Each of you pack a carry-on bag (say ~ 22" as specified or check Qantas current regs). The two carry-ons are for your land trip and will be with you on buses and planes. You don't see the big bag until on the ship - just like the others. You can also take another personal item like a large purse/carry bag or back pack. Qantas is very watchful for over-size carry-on and personal bags and we got caught up at one airport when we did our own land tour all over Australia that included 4 flights (Sydney to Melbourne, Adelaide to Perth, Perth to Uluru, Uluru to Cairns). I think it was Cairns. We had to adjust a lot of stuff to get around restrictions. They are well under what we can do in North America.
  14. You should be one of the many here who must know the Medallion has NOTHING to do with the App.
  15. You should. Sr Mgmt on ships needs to be embarrassed so they will rag on HQ to get their &*(#$!!@#$ act together.
  16. Dec 18 - not 19. Dec 25 (it would have been 24th if possible, but not with a port day ending 5pm and the following two sea days).
  17. You have two bookings. You have two free Casual Dining credits on first segment. I don't see how that would be possible - to defer them to second leg as you will no longer have the benefit available.
  18. For me, I have often said in the past that the stork took a wrong turn over Lake Erie.
  19. I don't think the first line was necessary. Service in Canada can vary and it was quite poor according to reports during and post-Covid. I am not sure how they are doing these days, but our service level is 10-20 days (depending on how application submitted), plus mailing time.
  20. This is a good question. I had correspondence with him over two years ago when Medallion App was released, but not since then directly. I am aware that M. Siebaldi left Princess some time ago.
  21. Usually begins about 4:30pm and runs to about 6:00pm I think. We have not gone in ages. Ends up being close to dinner and don't need more food. ETA: If you qualify, you will receive a card with invitation and the voyage schedule.
  22. It was always CG. I am a huge steak and beef in general fan. But with disappointment in beef quality last Fall, I am not so sure. Things may be better now, but I'd be heading to Catch if it was on my ship because it is new, some new food to try and it has good reviews so far.
