  1. Ask for it as soon as enter terminal I would say. Look for Gray/Grey Lane processing. Look for staff with blue vests and wheelchair logo on them. This isn't about SFO terminal - it's just general advice.
  2. Suppose you remove the post-Covid voyages that were in the "start up" phase and prices were set low to attract back the cruisers and ships were still only half-full or so? Does that increase the post-Covid average much?
  3. Please re-read. We had a NZ voyage from SYD. But this is in the same market zone. And there is no upcoming - this was a 2019 (Feb) voyage. I wouldn't lay a Benjamin on it or anything close, but I don't recall not being able to order water from N.A. using Cruise Personalizer.
  4. Well, let's see. You are from Canada and chances are you book in CAD, so not sure when you state $5K if you mean $5K CAD or USD. And I presume that is the increase for 2 people. I also don't know whether you mean EP on 2/21 or RU on 3/9 as both are doing the Circle voyage, but costs more in Feb. A Standard Fare can be had in Mid-Fwd or Mid-Aft zones for $6,619 CAD, plus Port Taxes. So, that is $13,238 for a couple. Assuming CAD, you paid around $8,238/couple, so indeed that is a hefty increase. Again, assuming you are on Emerald in Feb. So, you paid about $218 USD/night, which seems pretty decent these days for that cabin type. I think the current price of $350 USD/night is nuts for a Balcony cabin - even though the Balcony itself is quite large. You also didn't mention if you booked Standard, Plus or Premier, nor when you booked. If you booked last year, then Plus and Premier where cheaper, so that factors in. Otherwise, if booked after Dec 14, 2022, then those packages are same add-on cost. So, it's hard to figure just what the increase was, but I think your point stands. It pays to book early and watch for any price drops, but expect prices to climb in general as it gets closer to sail date. BTW, what is showing may not be indicative of the real inventory as there can well be GTY's that need to be assigned.
  5. I wouldn't know, but I also imagine it could be the same IT Team (or partially) that worked on both of them.
  6. Must be a change because I order the starter water package ever since it began and don't recall an issue getting it for our NZ voyage (RT from SYD) back in 2019. I would have ordered in Personalizer well before leaving home.
  7. No, you understand correctly and the OP was on about the web version (but we don't know which functional issues there were as things stand). I was just making a general comment that getting into one versus the other can be data-related and not software coding. The OP was silent as to whether the Princess App was working for them.
  8. I've never gone to an airport 3 hrs (!!!) before flight and never had an issue. Especially for that early in the morning when most likely many fewer flights than later in the day. That is very early for Europe to N.A. most certainly.
  9. Thanks. You have clarified that a couple of times. I think most of us are not doubting you, but doubting that this is PCL policy and if actually took the offer if it would work in the System. Will be interesting to read if others can do the same and actually buy the single package.
  10. Agreed, but if waiting until embarkation day, one could ask and see what they are offering. It seems too good to be true.
  11. Just curious and so others may know, how did they accommodate 6 people for UBD at once? A huge Balcony? In a Suite? Side by side cabins with balcony dividers open?
  12. This has been an issue for over a year now. Just ridiculous.
  13. No. There are several threads and just what we needed was a new one on the same issue. It is hard to know what all the issues are. I think a lot are data corruption related between POLAR and Princess Medallion App.
  14. Sure, explain to your TA and they need to go into POLAR and correct the data.
  15. This is the range I have seen posted. We have never utilized the extremities of the time range.
  16. No, it's not the 50's, but I am generally not allowed near the laundry. I cut the grass. So much for the 50's. I do plenty of cooking. But anything I put in the dishwasher gets re-organized and all of a sudden there's a lot more space available. LOL.
  17. Then someone in charge needs to take action and balance the lines out. Why can't a Green Lane agent handle Blue Lane guests until more Green Lane guests arrive? (Q not directed at you). Princess is so stupid sometimes. IDK how that terminal is laid out and where agents locate, but if I think of an airport check-in, the agent or two handling priority check-ins takes the next person in the long line if no priority guest is present waiting. They are not just standing around doing nothing. If Green Lane agents aren't handling more guests, then Princess has really screwed the pooch on this new change and they better wake up and fix it.
  18. What we would have done in your case (kids and wanting a balcony) is book a Balcony and an Inside across the hall for the kids. We would have made sure trip affordable because four of us in one regular cabin a non-starter. ETA: I would rather two Insides and forego the Balcony because the best viewing is going to be around the ship and not just what you see from Balcony (generally one view < 180 degrees).
  19. I am smiling over this thread because I had not entered until today and was wondering how it got on to three pages just to answer a soap question. But it swerved into "unmentionables" and of course that stirred up interest. Not to mention all the recommendations on cleaning products. I'm not complaining - sometimes it's okay or fun to have a topic of posts about nothing much directly to so with problems on the ships or with the App or with the call center reps.
  20. I know and agree. I have heard the term "undies" - perhaps a synonym for "panties". I was having some fun about retailing since essentially the same thing for a woman costs way more than for a man. I mean things like pants, shorts, shirts.
  21. No doubt that is because a store can charge a heck of a lot more for "lingerie" versus "underwear". The former gives image of higher end boutiques and the latter picked up at Walmart or the Big Box (that shall not be named because they sell cruises as well).
  22. I would think a bottle of port is going to appear to be just another bottle of wine and probably wouldn't be detected nor run afoul of the carry-on policy. They may see sherry as a liquor. In any case, if you have it with you, the WORST that can happen is they will keep it to end of voyage. It's not going to be confiscated and enjoyed by the security staff.
