  1. Maybe would look better on a 'Masquerade' evening , not too sure how they would fit in on a cruise it's not a wedding or Ascot . However, this reply is from a Guy who knows nothing at all of what a lady feels comfortable wearing - If it makes you feel good I'm all for it - Go for it , I'm also one for dressing to the nines 👍
  2. See my edited comment above 👍 Plus If there are too many Diamond on your QA trip 'have you been awarded' and additional $35 OBC to cover the disappointment of a complimentary lunch in the Veranda ( as on the maiden)
  3. Ah ! If you have 'Diamond on your Boarding card' you can also show this to the agents standing outside ( they are very accommodating and understand that means a high loyalty ) I have experienced this on one or two occasions ( post pandemic) and it works the same as priority - Do try it ! 😉 Edited to add; You should be directed to the line that has the clear signage - 'Priority - Grills Britannia Club - Diamond & Platinum'. very clear signage at the Mayflower Terminal . 👍
  4. It'll be perfect ! 👍 Says Bell Boy , self appointed fashion police 😉
  5. Interesting, I have just recently disembarked from QM2 , in conversation with a couple of the crew members they just happened to mention there are still some soft furnishing to be completed in one or two venues ( one area the G32 ) Apparently not everything was completed during the last refit ? Not too sure if this has anything to do with it . Edited to add; Come back and let us know the reason when you are finally onboard
  6. This nonsense was supposed to be only for last weeks QA maiden , it's not so much for being able to board early , priority was more about 'Checking-in' and not standing in long lines outside. Cunard need to kick this in the head in the future if they are considering accepting priority only for Grills & Club.
  7. Can I ask do you have 'Priority' across the boarding card you have just printed off .
  8. The person who had a 2.30 arrival time , possibly had 'Priority' across their boarding card and not necessarily a gorilla. The agents in the yellow visors managing the lines outside are accommodating to those with 'Priority' than the actual arrival time . On the maiden last week ( Britannia Club) I had a 2pm arrival time , I totally ignored that as it would have pointless to have been offered Priority and then join the large lines.
  9. For those in 'QG' , you may be interested to hear ( or, you may already know) one of your fellow guests is the well known Cruise influencer & Vlogger , Garry Bembridge / Tips for Travellers . If you come across him you might want to share your QA thoughts with him.
  10. Approximately 21 days before departure. You will usually be advised (via email) that 'Check-in' is now open. The time allocated is the 'Arrival time at the Terminal' not necessarily Boarding/Embarkation time.
  11. My goodness ! the powers that be at shoreside ie those who are responsible for entertainment have certainly changed their tune from last weeks Maiden . Delighted to hear they have now come to their senses and at least a little 'more Ballroom' is now taking place. Believe it or not, ballroom dancers can be quite flexible we don't don't mind the Queens Room for the occasional themed party night - 70s-Motown etc, what we don't want to see almost every evening ( as happened on the maiden ) the Queens Room being used for performers four evening out of seven 🙁 who have already had two performances in the Royal Court theatre early & late) Of course it's the Bar Revenue Annie is trying to encourage , she has even managed to have Bar Stools already fixed at the QR Bar before they have even been fixed in the Commodore . Call me cynical 😉
  12. In addition to the private dance group who are onboard QA there is one (Cunard) professional male from Ukraine. At the moment this gentleman is without his female partner I understand she maybe joining on a later itinerary. I sincerely hope that the entertainment team who are responsible for the (QA) onboard daily programme for this particular itinerary - unlike the maiden , are accommodating towards the above dance group and other guests who choose Cunard and visit the Queens room for an occasional dance in the evening.
  13. Well I've just had to pour my self a glass a Fizz on reading this .👍🍾 Obviously the entertainment department have listened to not only mine, but several other guests comments and constructive feedback on last weeks maiden cruise in relation to the Queens Room. As I understand it the following day after disembarkation from the maiden there was to be a meeting between the dance host and those responsible for the evening programme .
  14. They certainly are ( via the onboard florist -order in advance) However, just be careful you are not mistaken for a Maitre'd/ Head waiter.
  15. If you love Mary ( as I do) I think you might be a little underwhelmed with Anne ( as I was)
  16. I believe I staggered out at around 3.15am and it was still alive on the dance floor dancing to DJ Lilly
  17. Take no 'blooming notice' of these You Tube freeloaders . it was probably all that was left after offering to other guests on the 'surrounding tables' Often happens with the bread rolls or a variety of the cheese biscuits. All she had to do was request for water biscuits etc . Certainly plenty of variety across the restaurants .
  18. Bright Lights Society after the 10pm performance . I have to say this venue was the Highlight of my maiden cruise . Totally underwhelmed with everything else about the ship with the exception of the bathrooms 👌 I'll be sticking to Mary or the Vistas. The Club restaurant ( Q.Vic/QE 95 covers) QA 335- not my idea of an intimate dining room experience. After disembarking Anne had to jump onto the Mary within 48 hrs for a quick Cunard QG booster. Apologies for highjacking the original topic. 😉
  19. Stick with Cunard ! I was also on the same cruise in QG , I believe we were sitting facing you in the 'Embarkation lounge Southampton ' ( holding our Red cards 😅) I occupied a table in the restaurant at the very far end by the rear windows not too far from you and your travel companion. (I was travelling with my cousin) and we often waved to you both . Do stick with Cunard ! and try a Transatlantic crossing crossing which is what the QM2 was really built for . Club dining is a half way house to the grills and is perfectly acceptable too. Keep up with your cruising 👍
  20. After disembarking QA last Friday I'm now on QM2 (QG) I can confirm the last few evenings Canapés including Nuts & Crisps have been offered in the Grills Lounge, however, Canapés will no longer be offered in the QM2 Commodore Bar according to the senior bar tender. It's all Anne's fault 😠
  21. Ah ! a reference to Canapés, I'm intrigued with your observation as the Commodore bar and other evening venues on QA are 'no longer offering Canapés during pre dinner cocktails ( apparently a directive from shoreside ? according to a bar crew member) Can you confirm if the Grills lounge (QA) are offering Canapés .
  22. For those in Grills check out the 'Deck Bar at the Cabana' same level as the Grills deck just through that door. I discovered it whilst staying onboard in Lisbon not a soul there only me, however, after some time I was intrigued to see several Grill guests who had also discovered it and joined me. A super atmosphere during hot weather and serviced by three former Q. Victoria bar crew members - the only time I really felt at home on QA 😅
  23. Yes, charges are only for beverages.
  24. looking forward to the rest of your posts , if I can add my threepence worth having disembarked yesterday I'm afraid I was underwhelmed with some aspects of my experience, especially the Queens Room and the opportunity for evening dancing .
