  1. Lot's of kids cartoons on the in cabin TV. However we bring our firestick and for the last several years have been able to watch Netflix, Amazon Prime etc etc. on RCI ships streaming them. This has been very easy to do.
  2. The ice show on Navigator is by far one of the best. Can't wait to board her again Jan 20th.
  3. We've cruised Alaska 5 times with RCI and our very first cruise there we had no excursions. Of course that has changed over the years but the first time there we were just fine with the cruise ... views and just the fact that we were in Alaska.
  4. Take one of the shuttles into town...easy to do and when you're ready to head back to the ship just hail down another shuttle. Should be $5.00pp each way.
  5. Baptiste was just amazing...yes...request him !!!
  6. Very unlikely you will day port at the Pan American pier. We stay at the Old Town Sheraton often pre RCI cruise which is across the street from Old Town and have seen NCL many times day porting there.
  7. You'll be fine....FYI a taxi from the LAX-It to San Pedro will be $70.00 or at least it was for the two of us this past October.
  8. True....but we've never been on an RCI ship that wouldn't allow it...On a Captains "whim" I doubt that very seriously.
  9. We get the GeoBlue Trekker policy...haven't had to use it yet but very happy with what it covers. Also in our mid 70's and found it was the best option...easily purchased it and renew it online.
  10. Our favorite itinerary was the RCI Snowbird from Quebec City to Fort Lauderdale. I wish RCI would offer this particular one again. Just amazing !!!
  11. I would stay at a Fort Lauderdale hotel and use one of the many private shuttle companies offered to POM from there. Try Hyatt Place booking through ValueTrips or as a Hyatt member for rates.
  12. Agree...We've cruised out of San Pedro many times and the only option has been the daily rate for cruise passengers.
  13. Book with Paul McNeil the Halifax Historic Titanic Tour...He's the best !!! Forget making Peggys Cove a priority.. Paul will provide you with the best private tour you'll get in Halifax.
  14. Dublin....our dock was very close to the Trinity College area...easy to walk but our Celebrity ship did offer a shuttle. This was not only our embarking port but we over nighted there before sail out.
  15. No one is going to be checking your medications on a port stop. We've traveled all over the world (ports/airports/domestic/international) and even though I've always had my meds in their original bottle in my carry on no one has ever asked to see them.
  16. Welcome to Cruise Critic: You might reconsider even needing a cruise ship excursion at this port.
  17. WOW...No need to be so RUDE...absolutely unnecessary !!!!!!
  18. On our 8 cruises in 2022 (Navigator, Explorer, Harmony, Jewel & Serenade) we got a total of 10 beach towels and 8 tote bags. I tried to change my selection with the LA on Serenade while in Alaska so I could get something on our Serenade Panama Canal a week later but got more beach towels. The tote bags and beach towels have been on my list for years but could never get them until 2022.
  19. It doesn't seem to matter what you've chosen or what you tell the LA. You'll get whatever they have once onboard. We are completely overwhelmed with all the beach towels and tote bags we got in 2022.
  20. We recently sailed with RCI also out of Amsterdam and out of all the many terminals we've cruised out of, Amsterdam was amazing. As soon as our Taxi pulled up there was a young man there to get them out of the trunk...put them on a cart and walked besides us and loaded them onto the conveyor belt and then walked us to checkin. I almost felt like he was going to cruise with us. Very impressed !!!
  21. It's not what "pleases" us. It's what is easiest for us to personally do. 40+ cruises and counting with RCI and I can say we've never felt we slowed anyone down...just the opposite. We've always been patient with fellow travelers...So "yes" we actually do play along. If you find yourself in line behind us to check in at the terminal you'll be glad you were. Too many posters stress out about luggage tags.....we're not one of them.
  22. "Cars" we're not in a car !! And we have our own pen. Some of you are completely over thinking this. So you do what works best for you and I'll continue to do what's quickest and easiest for us and will certainly not get in your way or slow you down.
  23. We just did the full Panama Canal itinerary (Serenade) and had the Voom Surf/Stream with RCI and had no problems putting our iPhone on airplane mode and wifi calling. We have AT&T and I could call/text my family when I was on the ship...it worked fine. It was never necessary to call or text when in port but I certainly could have using my International day pass plan $10.00 per 24 hour from AT&T if I needed to. The only problem that we had on this itinerary was the ships satellite was at times unavailable.
  24. Sorry I forgot this works also...Glad you figured it out.
