  1. I sometimes wonder about VeriFLY -- we cruise on Friday, and under the "Submit negative test results" it gives the following message: Somehow I doubt that taking a test tonight (Monday after 8pm) would satisfy Carnival ! Tom
  2. I saw the double cruise points offer for (select) European sailings and thought it unfortunate that they were not offering similar for Caribbean cruises ! Tom
  3. I recall the first time they gave me that tray of red chips - felt like I was on top of the world, LOL.. Now it takes a tray full of blacks to give me the same "thrill" - - - yikes ! Tom
  4. Right there with you! -- Even from someone who has two BJ tournament trophies to show for my efforts. There's something about the thrill of splitting 10's in those rare tournament circumstances! 😄 Tom
  5. I don't recall with Royal, but is there a fee imposed for wine brought onto the ship, or is that only if you take it to a restaurant to enjoy (corkage)? Tom
  6. Thanks for your help - I'll shoot for a nice Goldilocks (middle of the pack) port or starboard CLS, and avoid those which they'd almost want you to think (1702 for example) have a larger balcony! Tom
  7. So, I shouldn't really go by the deck plans (as far as balcony size goes)? Just looking for one with that little extra bit of space, so that you could walk around the end of the loungers without having to turn sideways ! Tom
  8. Thanks, yes, we're looking at one on the side. We'd much prefer ocean views rather than "activities" views. 🙂 Tom
  9. We're looking at a couple of dates on the Harmony, and for both, the only suites left are the CLS (and Junior, which don't "count"). I'd prefer the Owner's but that's not available. We enjoy a large balcony, and I was curious if any of the CLS are preferred over the others? THANKS
  10. This is one place where Royal Caribbean/Celebrity have it down. I used this online form for the shareholder credit there for our 12/03/21 Independence of the Seas booking, and it went smoothly (can't recall when I heard back). For either Royal or Celebrity, you use the same form. I just submitted today for our August Independence sailing as well as our B2B sailing on the Reflection this November. I'll make note of the response time this go-around. Tom
  11. I will say, if the Glory - or any other Carnival ship - has "Paris" (solo singer/guitar) playing near the casino, she is VERY talented. Don't miss that! She was onboard the Liberty in March and early April, but is no longer there now. Tom
  12. Email sent on 5/1 for our 5/27 sailing. Received confirmation/approval at 6:30 this morning (5/13).
  13. Complete the safety briefing at your muster station. Go enjoy a MDE chicken sandwich!
  14. Interesting. We caught her adult show on the Liberty several weeks ago and she failed to connect with the crowd. Even mentioned to others to skip her if she was on their cruise. Perhaps just an off night!
  15. Well, no matter what they build, it will be an improvement over the Freeport stop! Tom
  16. Same as the Steakhouse - free bottle of wine on first and second evening, or the option of any bottle at 1/2 off. 🙂 Tom
  17. Damn the torpedoes 😉 It's pretty much a given now, step onto a ship, step into a petri dish. Sailing next weekend BTW !! Tom
  18. I am fully aware that any cruise ship we board will bring with it a much higher risk than regular day-to-day activities. I'm good with that. The longer you're onboard, the harder it will be to dodge the ever increasing transmissibility of the variants. For that reason, I'm holding off on my booster until just before our Thanksgiving B2B on the Reflection. It's not a magic bullet, but it's our best shot at being able to enjoy the whole two weeks. Until then, weekenders it will be - safer, but still playing a game of roulette ! Regarding the original topic, yep -- I think that the cruise lines just want to keep their heads down and plow forward to some future time where quarantining will be a thing of the past. Fingers crossed! Tom
  19. I might have missed it, but did you say at what point Mike would be fully cleared of restrictions? Tom
  20. Yep. I agree with another poster here, it's the two pair payout that really gets you (more meat and potatoes than full house/flushes). Ideally it should return 2:1 for two pair rather than even money. Tom
  21. Over $30/day for stream - that's a chunk of change. I was (internally) grumbling with the $14/day that Carnival gets for their top package! Tom
