  1. I received this email from Celebrity. The dates are Nov 10-Dec10. It applies to money spent with Celebrity or Royal, excluding purchases made while on board. Disclaimer: Some are prompt to say there are better travel cards for rewards. I can’t argue, but for those who have signed up for the card and are looking to earn onboard credit (not as easy to earn as it once was), this is the time to make a payment on your cruise.
  2. High numbers? Not compared to my offers on the Reflection! We’re in a veranda cabin (V1) and our 8 night had a minimum bid of $750 pp for Aqua class, $2K pp for Aqua Sky Suite! The Reflection is an older ship and doesn’t even have a retreat sun deck. Congratulations, I personally think you got a bargain!
  3. I’m in the minority. I didn’t think this was worth the cost at all. Yes, it was interesting, I always like learning new things. If I had it to do over I’d spend my sea day relaxing rather than meeting at X o’clock and waiting 30-40 minutes for everyone on the tour to show up, sign waivers, and use the restrooms before beginning the tour. That may be contributing to my opinion. I’m less patient the older I get, and I’m always early. The rest of the world always seems to be late. Editing to add: I only paid $89 and I felt even that was too much.
  4. Things get changed out. Later in the day you might see carrot cake, coconut cake, cupcakes etc.
  5. I’d prefer the aft cabin. At 21 days out, you’re obviously not trying to take the cabin from someone who may need it. I’ve been in an accessible when my husband and I didn’t need it (upgraded from Aqua to Sky Suite shortly before cruise when the only available Sky Suites were the 3 accessible cabins on deck 9) and I’ve been in an accessible when my husband did need it. There were no forms to fill out either time. So you could book the cabin now or someone will receive it on a Move Up bid.
  6. One of your names as in you or your spouse? It’s sounding like I don’t want to get involved in helping my sister with her booking. She can shop for a TA that will offer her OBC.
  7. That’s correct. A possible workaround - put my sister and I on the booking and then later remove my name and add her husband? That way maybe I could book the sailing and suite that she’s after.
  8. Was it tough love she used to cure you? (aka going to bed hungry)
  9. I would hesitate to purchase this in my name and transfer it to someone else and get a new booking number. I would expect the OBC to disappear at that point.
  10. My sister sailed on the Equinox with me last month and would like to book next year for her and her husband. Now, I’ve booked for others before, but we were booking a cabin for ourselves, too. So question one is: can this still be done if I come prepared with all of their information as far as deposit payment? I won’t board the Reflection until the 25th, the day after the Black Friday promotion ends. As far as I’m concerned, it’s still Black Friday weekend, followed by Cyber Monday. Do you think there might be similar pricing or any added benefit at that time? She is itching to book, so I’m not even sure if I can talk her into waiting a few more weeks, but OBC might get her to hold off. Thanks for any insight you may have. I know some on CC are travel agent professionals and may know more.
  11. Because anyone can use the app to see them. And I’m pretty sure they’ll change around. For example, the chocolate sphere dessert was on the menu within the first several days, and I thought that was usually placed on much longer cruises. The MDR changes weren’t as noticeable.
  12. My Nov 25 Reflection cruise is showing updated Luminae menus. They look great! I’m not currently in the Retreat though. I have my fingers crossed for a Move Up.
  13. I got this survey and also mentioned the length of the cruises and unappealing itineraries. I also mentioned that I’m really dismayed that AI is no longer AI even with the grossly inflated Retreat prices. I said I’m searching for an all inclusive cruise.
  14. OBC seems to have disappeared completely. Last year we got $200 OBC when we booked an 8 night and re-fared another 8-night.
  15. I love the fog-free mirrors in Aqua cabins!
  16. I’ve never looked at pen or pencil and pad of paper as anything other than a way to leave messages or requests for our room attendant. It didn’t occur to me to bring them home. For that reason, as long as the pencil works it’s fine with me.
  17. I’m not a fan of the Celebrity Suites on S-class ships. The bedroom and bathroom make me feel claustrophobic. The midship locations are a plus, though.
  18. What are the details of your bids? Ship, sail date, current cabin, minimum bids, etc.?
  19. If you placed a bid you’d have received a confirmation email. In that email there should be a link for if you want to change or cancel your bid. Click on that to see where your bid(s) stand.
  20. I can’t sign in using my iPhone when using a normal tab. I can in Private mode though.
  21. I think they’re a new designation. The concierge cabins on M class that are interspersed with the suites, perhaps. I would also choose Aqua.
