  1. The actual time of your class can’t be chosen until you’re on board. I was really glad, because it gave us time to look over some of the other activities that we were interested in or had booked. For example, what time is the World Wine Tour, and when are Captain’s Club special events scheduled? That let us know which times were not going to work for us.
  2. I’d also like clarification on how the up-charge works for the glass items. I’ll be onboard on the 8th. I can’t make out the prices, but it looks like nothing is under 3 digits.
  3. Those were the days. I’d have chosen to ditch the WiFi, given the choice. Many of us most loyal passengers (aka Captain’s Club members) already receive enough WiFi minutes as a perk of the program.
  4. I caught these, too. I couldn’t believe that she said it was false, there have been absolutely no changes to the main dining menu. Did she say that during cookiegate they actually sold 100 cookies per day? All of that negative press for $200 per day? I find that so amusing. Maybe I heard wrong!
  5. I’m sorry I didn’t answer your wuestion. I would say many have received it a day or 2 before. I follow the MoveUp thread and most often people quote 2 days as when they’re notified. My bids say they can be changed up to 72 hours prior to departure as long as they haven’t already been accepted. That’s a good indicator to me that they’re still giving consideration to all bids and wouldn’t make assumptions until I actually got a rejection notification.
  6. Many people say the first indication of an accepted bid is a notice that they have a charge put on their credit card.
  7. Oh, ok. So still only the 4 concierge cabins dispersed among the suites on deck 6?
  8. Aha! The cabins formerly (and probably forever) known as Sweet 16 cabins will now be Ultra Deluxe Concierge. They wised up about how popular those cabins are.
  9. You do have to watch it. My niece was charged for a nice bottle of champagne during lunch one day.
  10. You just need to decide what you’re willing to pay for your MoveUp. The last time I sailed solo I did not bid. As far as the upper bid amounts - they’re mostly ridiculous. Solo or double occupancy - they’re the same. Here are some of the ranges for an upcoming cruise I have on Reflection. I’m in a Prime Veranda category right now. Sunset Concierge - $350-$1225 pp Aqua Class - $750-$2625 pp Sky Suite - $1400-$7000 pp Sunset Sky Suite - $1500-$7500 pp Aqua Sky Suite - $2000-$10000 pp Celebrity Suite - $2500-$10000 pp Signature Suite - $2500-$12500 pp Royal Suite - $3000-$15000 pp Look at those upper limits! I guess they’re hoping Mr. Moneybags comes along and bids the max after too many drinks one night.
  11. My impression about the 50% off MoveUp worked like this: Maybe the original range for a Concierge cabin was from $100-$450. For whatever reason they reduced the bid range to 50% off…from $50-$225. If you hadn’t placed a bid previously you may not have seen the original bid range. Am I close? It’s all conjecture.
  12. No, there’s not a certain type who book the retreat.
  13. I love the Ensemble lounge. It’s comfortable, there’s entertainment and good bar service, plus there’s a continuous parade of passengers headed to the specialty restaurants and Blu. Hearing those suite passengers would have only added to the entertainment for me.
  14. There was $100 OBC pp. Maybe up to $800 per cabin. Our gang booked cruises that weekend and each cabin got $200 from Celebrity and $200 from our TA.
  15. I’ll definitely be status matching with VV before the end of the year. It’s time to jump ship and see what other lines have to offer.
  16. You got a call? Are they going to use your question? Just me being nosy!
  17. Wow, I’ve been following the current Reflection sailing along with my brother, as we will sail in February, and this is the menu for tonight. Except on Reflection there are no sides and no Irish Stew. Why do some ships offer an extended menu that offers more selection while other menus are sparse?
  18. I just realized that I’ve only been in Aqua on S-class ships: Reflection, Eclipse, Silhouette, Equinox x 3. I loved Blu on all of my sailings.
  19. I wanted to see how the menus in Blu had changed since I was last there in November. They look the same, and I see plenty of choice. Ribeye, osso bucco, duck, branzino, short ribs…lots of favorites. I wouldn’t worry about the menu. I have noticed the need to ask for every darn thing that Aqua cabins are supposed to include. I’m sure that’s cutting costs for X. I hate to have to keep asking. I’m not hard to please, but IMO if you’re doing your job you’d have the promised items in place. I do understand that the sparkling wine isn’t iced upon arrival. It’s not pretty when the bottles sit in the ice bucket and lose their labels.
  20. I’ll be in the Retreat in October on the Equinox. Unfortunately, the Daniel Boulud menu has not changed yet on that ship. That Moroccan Chicken is a stinker of a dish. Everyone knows it. On Millennium in April my son said he was going to order it. I told him about all the poor reviews here, but my nagging only made him more determined to try it. Our waiter brought our entrees out, and within 3 minutes the maitre’d was at our table hovering at my son’s elbow offering to get him another dish of his choosing. This was without any comment from my son. 😂 He refused and said he was fine. Later when I asked how it was, he said “Well, the quinoa was good”. We joked that there was probably panic in the kitchen when word got around that someone had ordered that dish. Throw another steak on the grill, that stinker is going to be sent back!
  21. That’s the kind of phone call I’d like to get one day. Congratulations! One question: how were you able to book that cabin so far in advance for 3 people? When they changed the cabin category from Family Veranda to Ultra Deluxe Veranda did they remove the stipulation that they were reserved for 5 or more and make them bookable from the start? I’ve stayed in one of those cabins and as coveted as they are, I agree that they’re worthy of a suite designation. I’m interested to see the final makeover.
  22. Great prices on some nice cabins. Which one are you unable to modify? Good luck!
  23. Would you post your cruise information and MoveUp offers so others can benefit here?
