  1. We’re on the Nova right now, and unless the gangway is level, or close to level with the dock, it has stairs . Be aware that you may be level with the dock when you leave on a tour, but the tide may change the location on return.
  2. We’ve been on the Silver Nova for almost a week now. The majority ( self included) wear a jacket without tie . I wore a suit on formal night , and most of the women have been dressed nicely too. Those that didn’t care to wear a jacket looked just fine.
  3. We were originally on the Moon for a b2b in late January/ early February going to Luxor twice through the suez and eventually ending In Mumbai. Luxor was dropped from the itinerary several months ago, and we booked the Nova instead and are now onboard for 32 days. This was the 3rd time on 3 different cruise lines that Egypt was canceled and the reason we booked. As much as we love the Middle East, we wouldn’t want to be going there now.
  4. We used out platinum card at that hotel last year, and I believe we got upgraded to that same room! Courtyard family room, and same issue with hairdryer ! It is a nice hotel though, and we even had a nice dinner there one night.
  5. Considering it’s a Trans Atlantic, and you may spend more time than usual in your room, I’d go for it.
  6. On other thing you might want to check on, is how close to departure does the airline close the flight for check in. International flights usually close out early. Remember, aside from you going through security, all baggage gets scanned too. Good luck !
  7. True, but as FedEx told me when a package I was expecting was “ lost”. “ It’s not lost, simply misplaced somewhere “ I eventually got it though. I give them a tip, same as at the airport. BTW, the porters in NYC are actually longshoremen
  8. They are separate. This was a topic of discussion awhile back, and was verified they are indeed separate.
  9. Mr Luxury, you took the words right out of my mouth. A barista once told me that they appreciated people that had manners, treated them with respect and a smile. All things my mother taught me, and it’s a trait understood universally.
  10. Welcome back home to Fla-ra-da ! Now relax, and get ready for the Nova
  11. I was at Palm Beach airport , and quite a few canceled flights from JFK, LGA, EWR o delta and jet blue. Oddly enough my wife came in from Islip ( Long Island) on Southwest right on time as scheduled. BTW, we’re flying out to Lisbon next month to catch the Nova. Silversea air booked us on Air Canada from Orlando through Montreal to Lisbon. Hopefully Montreal will be less of a problem that JFK seems to be
  12. That has been my experience too, Tucson
  13. Back in April on the Ovation TA from Miami to Dover, the reservations disappeared .
  14. Get the locator number, pull up the reservation and you’ll know. Might want to choose your seats too.
  15. Shhhh ! One of the better kept secrets at the Centurion Lounge !
  16. Do they have afternoon tea on the Nova. I don’t believe they did on the Moon and Dawn. DW misses that.
  17. I was just thinking the same thing . Maybe someone will want to trade.
  18. We didn’t know about the veranda suite with shower and tub, and are stuck with one for our 33 day sailing in October. We tried to change it, but couldn’t. However, we were informed that as the floor plan shows, the shower and tub are separated.
  19. We booked a cruise on Silversea for March 2025, from Capetown to Doha. Stops in Madagascar and the Seychelles among other stops. Maybe that’ll work for you.
  20. Yes, with accompanying higher price like before. Before it was either the small standard veranda,or upgrade to a PH. Now it’s either the same small standard veranda, or upgrade to whatever they now call a bigger suite. After sailing on SS , and new Regent ships, we’d never go back to Crystal. Then again, that’s life. As my mom used to say, “ to each his own “
  21. Just finished reading that book. A lot of insight into why todays world is the way it is, at least in the U.S.
  22. Never mind plastic ducks, some people have service ducks. Google service ducks, and you’ll see a few on airplanes
