  1. We sailed on Wonder for the TA back in April, and our cabin did not have the hooks under the tv, although it was an accessible Family Ocean View Balcony cabin on deck 11 port side (11158). It also had very little storage space in the bathroom, compared to other cabins that we saw onboard. We liked the layout of the Windjammer, and it also helped when it came to change over of meal times, ie breakfast to lunch, because they would close one side (usually right hand side as you walk in), so it was easier to source the food from the side remaining open, and it has all the wash stations as you walk in. We are looking forward to getting back on Wonder for the TA in October. It's a great ship.
  2. We usually buy a package (3 or 5 nights), and we have never been held to using it on the first/second night. Once we're onboard, we normally contact one of the speciality restaurants, and change or cancel our reservation that they make for us and book for a time that suits us better.
  3. I received an update from my TA today, I have called and spoke to RCCL to add the drinks on. They have not yet released the promotional codes on cruises of 14 nights or more which is why we cannot add at the moment. We will try again next week. This explains why we could add to your 12 night and not on this one. This relates to our 15 night TA on Odyssey OTS for October 2023. I hope this helps.
  4. If you decide to book a junior suite, if it's not accessible it would have a bath tub and not a shower cubicle, which might be difficult for Mum & Dad to use. I didn't realise this when we booked a Junior suite a few years ago, although the room was large enough for my scooter, the bath tub caused me issues with my mobility. A normal sized cabin would be too small to keep 2 mobility scooters in, unless as someone else has mentioned, that the cabin steward takes them away overnight, and returns them next day.
  5. That seems a bit strange. I haven't heard from my TA today, but that's maybe because everything seems to have come to a standstill in the UK today.
  6. The leaflet that @little britainhas shown, it states bookings of 7 nights and above!!! Is there any more information about the 'T & C's apply'? Our TA tried to add it to our Symphony TA in March and Odyssey TA in October 2023, they were able to add it to Symphony, but told to call back on Friday to add it to Odyssey, which they thought strange. They have it noted to call back tomorrow. lol
  7. We booked 4 cabins all at once, 3 for friends in Canada, and ourselves from UK. We paid the deposit in GBP for all cabins, when we sailed on Grandeur in February/March this year. We didn't need to get special permission/authorisation, no questions or problems.
  8. Thanks for the info @Coralcand @brilloheadvery much appreciated. I'll save them for our TA in October.
  9. Can I ask, how do you cash out your OBC at the Casino? We are not gamblers and although we are Diamond members we don't even know how to use our credit we get for that. On our last sailing in April (TA on Wonder), we took part in the slot pull, which happened a few days into our cruise, and I asked a few people afterwards how we could use our Diamond credit, and we were told we were too late, it had to be used by Day 2 or 3!!! We are about to sail again at the end of October and we have quite a bit of OBC even after buying dining package, and I don't want to lose it. Any advice appreciated.
  10. Royal Caribbean have sent the email for the testing/vaccination protocols for TA's for October/November 2022, to get onto the ship, and they have issued this information for their cruises since they returned to sailing after Covid. It's up to the individual to check if they are flying into another country, what their protocols are for entering which you would find on your Government Website for your home country. Royal have passengers sailing from all over the world, so entries to various countries will differ, depending on where you are entering from. If you get this initial part wrong, you won't be able to enter the country where the ship is due to sail from (i'e Spain & Italy are being discussed in this thread). We have sailed on a few different ships leaving from different ports and have had to check the protocols of the Country we were flying to, as well as the protocols that RCCL were issuing for our sailing, and on a few occasions they have varied, and have been updated even within a few days of us having to sail. We did a TA from US to Barcelona in April, we had testing to do to enter the US, then RCCL initially had sent us an email stating we had to test 2 days before sailing, then it was reduced to 1 day before sailing, and it eventually went back to 2 days before sailing. It's forever evolving.
  11. We're not back on until October, for the TA, so if you're on before then, would appreciate if it is there. We did mean to have a look in April, but we never got round to it. We also missed the same part on Harmony when we did the TA in October 2016. Too many things to do on these ships. Enjoy your trip @little britain
  12. Thanks for this, most of the entertainers are the same as we had on our Transatlantic in April, apart from Pablo in the Cask & Clipper, he's new. We had a Scots guitarist called Kevin who was great, and we're hoping he's back for the October TA when we get back onboard. @Cruise Gopherwhen we were on the ship in April there was a pianist in the Schooner Bar on Deck 6. @Norwich Cruiserthanks for your updates during you vacation, very much appreciated, 10 weeks from now and we'll be back on the ship. ps Where is the scary glass next to the Glass Ball that was mentioned a few posts back?
  13. The way to try to work out where the bed is in the cabin, is to find the closest connecting cabins (indicted on a deck plan with arrows joining the cabins), and look at the plan as if you are standing outside the doors in the corridor. The door on the right, has the bed beside the balcony, the door on the left has bed beside the bathroom, and all rooms alternate. I normally travel with a mobility scooter, and I asked this on here a few years ago, because I need the bed beside the balcony, if I can't get an accessible cabin.
  14. In 2024 it will also be 5 years since Oasis had it's maintenance check done. We were booked to sail on Oasis in 2019, when it was in for Azipod work before the TA and the crane fell onto the back of the ship, and all sailings were cancelled, and it came to Europe with just crew onboard.
  15. I'm not sure about all of the ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet, but we did a Transatlantic on Wonder OTS in April, and there was a parade and parties on the Promenade deck. We even had a New Years Eve Party in April, where they held the first balloon drop on any ship since Covid. I've also seen on social media the cruise director who is on Mariner posting pictures of parties (I think they've had parades onboard too) on the Promenade, and Silent Discos.
  16. Jennifer Singer, seems to have been on the ship since it started sailing back in March. She was on the April TA. Who is the singer in the Cask & Clipper? Do they still have the Beatles tribute band in the Music Hall? They were really good on the April TA And where on the ship is the 'scary glass'? I don't think we found it on the April TA, but I'll look for it on the October TA
  17. The balcony cabins alternate the bed beside the balcony or the bathroom. The general rule is usually to find the closest connecting cabin and imagine you're standing outside the cabin doors, the cabin on your right hand side will have the bed beside the balcony, and the one to the left hand side the bed will be beside the bathroom. I travel with a mobility scooter or a powered wheelchair (which I prefer to take), and if accessible cabins are not available, I can usually fit my scooter in a cabin, but its best if the bed is beside the balcony to allow the scooter to fit into the cabin, and this is the way I was told to work it out. I hope this helps
  18. Can I ask where you had your antigen test done in Barcelona? and also who is the singer in the Cask & Clipper Bar onboard? Thanks
  19. Your reply is relevant to all of the ships mentioned. No one knows which ports the ships will sail until it's published.
  20. i would think Oasis would be back in Europe in 2024, it would be due it's dry dock then, since it was last over for that in 2019, when the crane accident happened in the Bahamas dry dock!!!!
  21. The Transatlantics for 2024 have not been release yet, and we're hearing they probably wont until later in the year. We've done a few: 2014 Liberty OTS (Westbound) 2016 Harmony OTS (inaugural Westbound) 2017 Jewel OTS (Westbound) 2018 Jewel OTS (Eastbound) 2022 Wonder OTS (Eastbound) We also have: 2022 Wonder oTS (Westbound) 2023 Symphony OTS (Eastbound) 2023 Odyssey OTS (Westbound) all booked. We love the sea days, and the chance to explore the ship. We have never been bored on any TA's that we've done, and we've met lots of fellow cruisers and made lots of friends from our trips. We normally buy the DBP because my partner drives all year for their job, so it's time to let their hair down on vacation, and we don't want to worry about the bill at the end of a cruise, or feel we have to watch what we buy in case we go over our limit. We've never seen many children (if any) on our TA's. We've had lots of fun on our Transatlantics and looking forward to having more, and meeting our old and new friends.
  22. You can book either directly with RCI or with a Travel Agent. If you have a particular sailing in mind (dates etc), you could have a look on Royals website and search to see if there are accessible cabins available and if they are Junior Suites or Balcony Cabins. We sailed on Grandeur earlier this year in an Accessible Balcony Cabin (I have mobility issues) and we've also sailed in an Accessible Junior Suite on Jewel OTS, and there wasn't much difference between the size in both rooms, maybe because Grandeur is an older ship, the cabins were a bit bigger in size when the ship was built, compared to newer ships, so it might be worthwhile checking out the room sizes rather than booking a Junior Suite in order to get a bigger room, when that isn't the case.
  23. If you were to use Medicspot it would need to be the Fit to Fly with Observation test. The Antigen test must be video supervised or carried out by a healthcare professional. We've always used Randox for our tests from the UK, and never had any problems with them. Good luck with your testing
  24. I forgot to add, you can request for the Cruise Director during their show to wish happy birthday to your husband. My friends did this for me too, only issue was I never saw or heard it, because we never have the tv on in the cabin unless I'm checking our account, but I was told by others that they saw & heard the shout out!!! lol
  25. Unsure of what kind of thing you're looking for, but you say you'll be on the ship for a few days before his birthday. You could try going to Guest Services to see if they could help to put your plans into action. I think the only things you can pre purchase online are decorations for the cabin, a birthday cake and the chocolate strawberries, but they tend to send these on day one, as someone else stated, I don't know why. We were on Wonder for the TA in April, and it was my birthday, and friends we were travelling with had ordered the decorations and chocolate strawberries for me, but whoever was responsible for decorating my cabin etc, got it wrong and decorated my friends cabin and she got the chocolate strawberries, guest services managed to fix it, on my actual birthday!!! lol
