It was in one of the many mailings we get from Oceania, and they made it sound like something new. When we booked it was confirmed we get the new Wi-Fi deal, maybe they have made it for both guests in a cabin?
This may answer your questions about the benes of Concierge class. This is a link to their website today.
Concierge Class Cruise Ship Staterooms | Celebrity Cruises
Remember if you move up to Aqua or Retreat you only get the drinks, Wi-Fi, and gratuities package you had at the cabin before move up. You do get the Retreat Lounge, Luminae and sun deck if you move up that far.
We are taking the O plunge and are booked on the Oceania Marina for an 18 day cruise in 2025 from Santiago Chile to Buenos Aries. We booked in a Concierge Verandah class cabin for the same price of the Sky Suite for 14 nights on the Equinox. We get 4 more days and 4 more ports than the Celebrity itinerary.
Your first mistake is calling and not getting something in writing. Mine and many others here, experiences with calling and talking with Celebrity reps is they mostly are wrong in the information they tell you. Unless you have it in writing it is not true or a policy. Prior to Covid we sailed in Concierge and never was there an expanded room service menu for breakfast or other meals that was different than the standard RS menu. See my post #116 to see the actual amenities as currently listed on the Celebrity website for Concierge class bookings. The ONLY reference to room service is "24 Hour room service" with a note at the bottom that it has a $9.95 delivery fee. As I have said before Celebrity is consistent with being inconsistent.
After a couple of cruises in Concierge we decided it was a joke and not worth paying more than a veranda and getting nothing of real value, so we then switched to booking Aqua Class. After Covid we decided to only cruise in suites, but Celebrity is very quickly pricing us out of the suites.
I am the same, our June 4th Equinox cruise has a GC stop and we have been there many times and never to Puerto Plata. Last year our Reflection cruise had several port changes in Croatia/Greece and the changes didn't show up on the X website for weeks after it was announced. It took months to get the shore excursions for the changes to show in the app and the website.
Everything with Celebrity has changed in the last few months. Even if the Mimosa is a no charge, you will still be charged the $9.95 + 18% tip for delivering it to you.
Unless you are in a suite, you will pay for the Mimosas plus a delivery charge and tips. If you have a drinks package, go to nearest open bar and order them to take back to your cabin.
We are also Elite and have seen everything go downhill on X. Last year we did a X cruise on the Reflection is a Sky Suite and had a lot of misses in Luminae. We followed that cruise with one on HAL Oosterdam from Venice and all 4 of us agreed the MDR food overall was better on the Oosterdam than the Reflection Luminae. The 4 of us, DW and sister and BIL are booked on the Marina and looking forward to something better than X. If we hadn't received a really great deal on the 4 upcoming X Retreat cruises, we would have canceled them.
I was surprised with our HAL cruise last year from Venice, we had their standard drinks package and in a nonsuite veranda. A one night when my DW was not feeling good we had the MDR diner delivered to our cabin with a glass of wine from the drink package and we were not charged for the glasses of wine.
No special luncheon but one level of MDR is normally open for lunch on Embarkation Day, it was last year on the Oosterdam from Venice. In 2019 on the Nordam it was open, but it closed abruptly at 1:00pm and we were refused entry at 12:55pm after we boarded. We are 3 stars with HAL but their loyalty program offers very little in amenities.
We have been able to order a cocktail with breakfast in a Sky suite that's included in our PDP, not sure about other non-suite categories. We did this last year on the Reflection in a SS.
I have seen way too many who have sailed in the MSC yacht. club say the same about the food. This is one thing that keeps us from looking at them as an option to Celebrity's retreat. The other is the mega size of their ships with YC, even with the YC separation you still have to put up with 1000's of passengers outside of YC. We did a cruise on the Allure of the Seas with RCL and it was one and done on any mega ship that size.
Where is this stated? The app shows three Room Services, Room Service, Aqua Class room service and Suites room service, not a Concierge class room service listed.
Also nothing about any expanded room service for Concierge on the Celebrity website, see below:
Same here, and I have never had any lobster on a ship worth the price, so we usually avoid the lobster and go for something different like the Scallops.
Yes I can attest to the traffic specially going to Sorento from Pompeii. One lane roads with a lot of tourist buses and European vacationers in their cars in the summer. We were there last August and it was heavy but no problems getting back to the ship on time with our private tour.
My understanding is anything not on the NC continental breakfast menu will incur the RS delivery charge and that would be for drinks like a mimosa and Bloody Marys.
