  1. Not everybody gets Covid (or at least some are unaware). I have been on 4 cruises since the restart (last one in May), gone to theater and wedding, and have not gotten sick (that I’m aware of). And I have not gotten a booster yet either. I also don’t run to test if my nose is running or my throat is scratchy.
  2. What number are you calling? There may be a long wait time, but there should be a wait recording.
  3. Be prepared for your cruise. There will be cases on board and people will not be staying in their cabins.
  4. The selections are limited, and the bottles are 375ml. Its at the very bottom of the cruise planner page..Shop Royal Gifts. Then pull down menu and select wine and liquor.
  5. If the cruise is a closed loop cruise, leaving and returning from the same port, they are correct.
  6. I would just experiment until it’s to your liking. I never measure anything. Since coconut syrup is sweet, go light on that. Like a splash and then a dash of bitters. The alcohol would be to your taste. I would start with 3oz, but I like strong drinks. If to strong, add a little more syrup.
  7. I was on the Ovation in May (first cruise) and mine was fine. You must have gotten bad batch.
  8. There have been lots of threads on this, and for most, at least on Cruise Critic, like this change. 4, 5, or 6 vouchers, depending on loyalty level, used at any bar, any time of the day, and any choice of alcohol, up to $13, which covers pretty much all drinks.
  9. If you have any vouchers left, you can always grab something to take to your cabin, like bottled water, soda’s, Truly’s or beer. Just ask them not to open them.
  10. I put in for it on 2 cruises this year, and it was applied the same day. So I guess it all depends on how many they are doing.
  11. Unfortunately, I had 3 solo cruises from Sydney cancelled for a couple of years. They have now been moved to 2023, out of the double points promo window. That’s 148 points. In my hopeful, but realistic mind, I’m still hoping they honor that promo in 2023. They were all cancelled by Royal and were all L&S. I will still get 74, but 148 would have been nice.
  12. The cameras are outside and when it’s dark, you can’t see a thing. They may just turn the cameras off at night. You can still see the rail across.
  13. Nice to see someone from Stockton. I graduated from Stagg, a year at Delta, and then I hightailed it back to San Diego (went to elementary there). Then I came to the PNW in 1985. @SummerBeee I did a Seattle RT Pacific Coastal on the Explorer 2017. My stops were Astoria, overnight in San Francisco, and Victoria. I really enjoyed the overnight in San Francisco (The City). I would definitely book one again, and I think you will enjoy it.
  14. The only goal I have is to reach 340 for the solo discount. I could care less about Pinnacle. I’m not a foodie, and don’t even eat in the MDR, so wouldn’t eat in CK either. Plus I don’t like attention drawn to me, so I would never wear the pin. Most cruises involve flights for me, and at this stage in my life, I’m spreading out certain itineraries over different cruise lines, to visit ports I’ve never been too. Also, I’m pretty frugal where I spend my money, so going to the same ports over and over to reach a certain loyalty status doesn’t really appeal to me.
  15. The screen is usually on, but at night, it will be dark, and the room steward (with a D) will close the curtains over it.
  16. Just stated that, because not everyone has gotten a booster 😉
  17. On Carnival specific, the 3 day test was only for those that had boosters. It was still 2 days for those without boosters.
  18. Yes, the ship changed time. AKDT. All ports in Alaska are 1 hr. earlier than Pacific time. You will only change back once going, and once forward coming back. You will get notification in your cabin.
  19. Sounds familiar. I still haven’t been on Northstar. Cancelled twice last Oct. and once in May on Ovation. I’m hoping my B3B on the Ovation in March, will bring better luck.
  20. You can ask for paper. I’m 71 and have no issue with the app, but sometimes it just takes getting used to. It’s like finding your way around other cruise line websites, if you have only ever cruised one cruise line. Like all new things, there’s a learning curve. I like the app much better, once on the ship.
  21. So I’m interested to know how Royal treats bringing alcohol on in ports in Europe. I was on the Mariner in 2011 for a TA, and didn’t bother, but Carnival in 2016, and you could bring on alcohol in every port. Has anybody tried this? I am on the Wonder TA in Oct., and could care less, but those that buy the drink package may want to know.
  22. I do believe that others have been quarantined in their own cabin for Noro, but from what I’ve heard about that, is you don’t want to be to far from a bathroom anyway, or feel like moving. 🤢
  23. I just won a lottery for $10 tickets to see Hamilton. The theater is masks required, and you better be sure for $10 tickets, I will wear a mask. I have waited to long to see this play. 🤣🤣🤣
