  1. I hope Micheline is feeling better. Good news for you, Amtrak just started it’s Seattle- Vancouver run today, after 2 years. Micheline will also have several days at sea on your way to Hawaii, to really rest up and heal.
  2. Some of the replies you are reading have nothing to do with Royal Caribbean. You would get the same snarky replies on every single cruise line thread. And a lot of these posters cruise on different cruise lines. Posters on here, are a very small percentage of actual cruisers. I think you will have a great time, and try not to judge a whole cruise line, reading a few posts here. There are a lot of great people cruising, and look at that glass half full.
  3. But remember, you will pay onboard price for those 9 days, so do the math and see what would be cheaper. From my experience, onboard has always been $5-6 more a day than purchasing pre cruise. YMMV
  4. Need clarification…do you mean, sit at different tables, or dine elsewhere, like Windjammer or Specialty? You do not need to go to MDR every night, but when you do go, you need to sit at assigned tables. If you want to sit together, have your reservations linked to each other.
  5. I had 9506 on Ovation in May in Alaska, and it was awesome. I loved just sitting by the window and looking out. I was solo, and the cabin was huge. I normally get interiors, but I got a Royal Up bid for an Oceanview. I was originally on deck 3 and didn’t find out they moved me again until I got on board.
  6. You don’t get boarding times, you get check in times. Depending on how close your check in times are to each other, you could still board together, depending on numbers they call when boarding starts.
  7. Welcome to Seattle, and the weather should be great for you.. Loved your “almost” for the Starbucks. 😉 Happy Anniversary!
  8. Being originally from San Diego, and always living on the West coast, I have done Mexican Riviera many times, going back to 1984 on Sitmar, when it was longer and different ports. We are on the same cruise @RCCL Fanand going with my family. I always go to Gordo Lele’s (just a block up from Cabo Waco) in Cabo for authentic, cheap tacos, and Javier is the best. Planning on an independent whale watching this time, while fam goes elsewhere. I have gone zip lining twice with Los Veranos Canopy Tour, and they are awesome. If you want some ideas, check ParoDeeJay vlog on YouTube. They have some good tips on excursions in Mexico.
  9. I will be on the Navigator for New Years with the family, and I am originally from San Diego, and you live in So. Cal., so we can be very spoiled as far as good Mexican food goes. Since you loved it, I’m hoping for the best. 😉 I guess I will find out next month on Wonder, although it could be different on 2 different ships.
  10. Found this….. Royal Caribbean is set to double the amount of Crown and Anchor Society points each cruise solo cruisers recieve. Instead of just one point per night, solo cruisers will recieve two points per night sailed. /sites/default/files/cabin_0.PNGThe change is being made because solo cruisers pay a special solo rate, which is essentially double the normal rate. Therefore, paying double should net you double the points. Cruise Tricks is reporting the change in points will be applied to all cruises in October 2013 and going forward.
  11. The double points for solo didn’t start until 2013 or 2014. Somebody will know exactly when. Were your solo cruises after that time frame?
  12. Or better yet, just board with your luggage after 1-1:30, when cabins are open.
  13. You can find C&A benefits by a simple google. Here are numbers if you need help with reservations. Also, there are many new reps, so be prepared on any answers you are looking for.
  14. Some hair appliances, clocks, fans, may not be dual voltage. If you don’t need to plug any of those things in, then you probably just need an adapter to plug into Euro socket. All that does is allows US type plugs to be plugged in. Most phones, tablets, etc., don’t need a converter. If several of your items have USB plugs, just get something that has 4 or so usb outlets and you can plug that into either the regular US socket, or the one you have adapted to be a US socket. Adapters and Converters are 2 different things.
  15. I always download movies or series on my IPad before I leave home. That way, if I want to watch something, I have it.
  16. They mentioned a lot of sea days, so I’m thinking more to Hawaii and possibly on to Australia. Just a guess.
  17. No packages available at this time, but may come back if there are cancellations.
  18. It was available a day or 2 ago for $350, but it’s gone again. I would check your planner everyday, since some cruisers may be cancelling that have it. I got the 5 night package, back in March for $139.
  19. I wasn’t sure if this was the case for Royal. I have cruised Carnival from Barcelona and was able to bring alcohol on in every port, but wasn’t sure if there were duty free stores at other berths, or Royal may use the same one.
  20. I am leaving from Barcelona next month and the wording for Spain is a bit confusing. I have not had a booster, but thought Spain was still under the 270 rule, and I will need to get a booster before I can enter country. I already know I have to take a proctored test to get on ship.
  21. Same with me, plus theater and sporting events. I haven’t even gotten a booster yet. But I have to by next month to go to Spain. 🙄 The way I see it is if some feel better masking up, then they aren’t hurting anyone. I will continue to live my life as I always have. I prefer to get some germs. Helps with my immunity.
  22. You have to give it at least a week before you start a thread. 😉 And it’s a holiday weekend.
