  1. They definitely need some better itineraries, especially come the winter time than those 8 Days to PC/Nassau and Freeport. Doesn’t help Bermuda is limited either. But I think she may come a little earlier, she exits Costa service on December 1, and then will head to dry dock sometime after, the other question will be do you think she comes over empty or will they sell a T/A?
  2. Well if Venezia starts to pop up in any Bahamas/Caribbean ports prior to the first Bermuda cruise, we’ll know if she replaces Magic. Magic could just do a small NYC season and head to Norfolk earlier. However, I do agree with the comments that the two should have been kept separate but I don’t think a Dream & Vista Class in NYC would do well either.
  3. Sailed on her in July, middle of the road ship for us, didn’t overly love it but didn’t overly hate it either. Other comments summed it up pretty good, new non-smoking casino. Food was so so. Family has another cruise booked for next year but we are all waiting patiently for the Venezia cruises to be released. However, Ryan Rose should be the cruise director again when the ship comes back to NY and he was fantastic, so you should enjoy him unless he was the one you found boring.
  4. Someone pointed out to me, the rendering still shows the Costa name, so I’m guessing a last minute change or they are preparing to take on more Costa ships.
  5. So it seems the two Costa ships, will now be styled as Carnival Venezia and Carnival Firenze, both featuring the blue bow as well. However they will keep the yellow Costa funnel and will be year round.
  6. I believe Diamond Princess was delayed again and comes back this month or November and Pacific Adventure is the last ships to resume for P&O Aus I believe in the coming days. Costa is the only one with multiple ships.
  7. Well they just cancelled deployment for Fortuna so I’m curious what they’re plans are now, while I think crew is a big issue, seems there’s more to this as well.
  8. Costa Fortuna has deployment cancelled from April 2023 to April 2024, which was due to take over for Costa Venezia in the Eastern Mediterranean. Wonder what the plan is now… https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/28528-costa-cancels-majority-of-fortuna-s-cruises-for-2023-and-2024.html
  9. While I doubt either of those brands will lose anymore ships for the time being, Carnival will probably pick up a few more Costa ships to get them back in service.
  10. Basically whatever Carnival doesn't offload in Miami, is the property of the scrapyard. They usually keep the bell and coin, not sure what else.
  11. Her mechanics are probably pretty worn out and would probably just be a waste to throw more money into it, 30 years old seems to be the stopping point. I don’t see why Spirit wouldn’t sell well, she only holds an extra 100 passengers give or take. Probably a test run, since Mobile moves to being a seasonal homeport for the time being.
  12. Merger into AIDA really wouldn’t make sense, now a merger into Carnival, as they share the same classes between them would and it seems Carnival is laying out the ground work with Costa by Carnival; just create a super fleet.
  13. I have Fantasy’s Guys Burger sign, one of the deck plans from deck 10 (lido) and Inspiration’s Serenity sign.
  14. I wish it was open later than 11pm, need something else besides pizza….
  15. Just glad they are keeping the BLT, makes for a nice late snack.
  16. Its certainly possible, I am curious if that brass was donated to them or they kept it in long term storage, many items donated to Celebration came from Peter Knego (I believe). Yep, just stating it is possible to get items; however it comes down to the owner of the scrap company that bought the ship, some do resell stuff and other keep it for themselves.
  17. Unless they plan on pulling anything else off for Celebration, everything inside will be sold with the ship, minus probably her coin and bell. While they probably won’t auction anything, there was a contact at Aliaga who could get stuff from the Carnival ships, I have a few items from Fantasy and Inspiration, however it wasn’t cheap by any means.
  18. Well according to this article, more options are being considered: “According to a press release, given Costa Cruises' significant presence in Asia, particularly China, which remains closed to cruising, the brand continues to evaluate deployment options and fleet optimization alternatives beyond the previously announced transfers of Costa Luminosa to Carnival Cruise Line as well as Costa Venezia and Costa Firenze to the COSTA by CARNIVAL concept.“ https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/28390-carnival-corporation-reports-2022-q3-earnings-ebitda-turns-positive.html Magica and Serena have no current plans and even though they were transferred to the new China brand, Mediterranea and Atlantica are also still out of service.
  19. I wonder if they will order a few more or come up with something new, once Celebration and Jubilee come out. The sailings are there, but there's only two, one in August and one in September 2023 on the Legend. However, the one rooms that look to be available are interior and for a steep price.
  20. I’ve never seen either of these before, that makes sense if the concept is called or styled as “Choose Carnival, Italian Style”. But whatever it may be I’m ready to book, hope they post the New York sailings soon.
  21. Yes that is also correct but to the few it does cater too, it would keep them in brand.
  22. They are keeping their Costa names; and will remain Costa ships in the entirety, except maybe minor changes, as they are joining the “joint” brand, the point is to get Americans familiar with Costa, which would be pointless if they lost their Costa name. Costa Luminosa will be receiving the Carnival name, as previously mentioned; as it’s joining the Carnival fleet.
  23. You can buy a one day internet pass while onboard only.
