  1. I don’t know the cost, but I can tell you it’s very likely you’d save money by hiring a private car service to take all of you, and you’d be on your own schedule instead of waiting for 50 other pax. My hubby and I have found that when you have 1 pax, you save money doing the Princess transfer. When you have 2 pax, you pay about the same for a transfer as you would for an Uber or taxi or private car service. If you have 3 or more pax, you typically save money by hiring a private car service.
  2. It’s wonderful you’re trying to reunite the camera with its people! Hope they get it back; vaca memory pics r so special.
  3. I live in Alaska and have done many AK cruises as well as multiple Med cruises and a variety of other Europe cruises. They’re 100% different experiences and both awe inspiring. My travel philosophy is to do the furthest afield first because you just never know what can happen. We are soooo glad we followed that, not only because of the pandemic but also because I now have an ankle injury that is easy to manage in the US but much more challenging on cobblestone streets and historical steps. Alaska is much easier to access, since it’s within our country. That said, if you’re into major adventure activity, Alaska is better done while you can. As a former teacher, I know all about scheduling vacations around the school schedule. We always did our Europe vacations at the beginning of the summer while it was a little less scorching. Would that be a possibility for you? August really is a bad month for going there; it’s when locals take time off to vacation, resulting in way bigger crowds, and the heat is oppressive. If that’s the only time you can go, though, do it. Whichever you choose, you’re going to see amazing sights! Happy planning!
  4. Eat a grill burger and have my first Virgin Strawberry Daquiri! Well technically, it’s disinfecting the stateroom and then going to lunch.
  5. Even on Princess I’ve seen a solid group of teens on Med cruises. They usually find each other and band together for the cruise. Plus, you’re going going going all day every day, so there’s really no time for them to get bored. The Greek Isles are gorgeous and fun, making them more appealing to teens than say day after day of museums.
  6. St. Lucia and St. Kitts have really fun zip lines. You and your kids can enjoy a day of fun at Carlyle Bay Beach with a water playground, great swimming, and a free snorkeling trip to snorkel with the sea turtles.
  7. I love the shopping bag and hope they bring it back!! I’m glad the mini bar is fairly normal. The zippered elite bag sounds great; I hope it becomes consistently given out on all ships.
  8. We will be on our first post-Covid cruise in December. We loved the Medallion before the pandemic, despite its occasional issue. The added features since then sound great, and we’ll see how they play out when onboard. Yeah, the internet is not what it’s marketed as being, and I do realllllly hope they fix that, but other cruise lines’ internet doesn’t seem to be any faster based on the speed test results people post on here. Go on your cruise, and hopefully you’ll have a fabulous time!
  9. Don’t do it! All it takes is experience the Rome airport once, and you’ll have a good laugh that you ever considered it. First, the drive is about 1-1.5 hours to the airport depending on traffic. Then, you can wait in a 1-2 hour line to check in, followed by another hour long at Security. You’re already supposed to be at the airport 3 hours before departure. We arrived at the Rome airport 3 hours before departure and almost missed our flight!
  10. I wouldn’t risk it; European airlines are rather rigid about size and weight of luggage. We bought what’s called a European carry-on, and you can see the size difference when placed next to our regular one.
  11. There are way more kids on Princess over Christmas due to families traveling together over the holidays. Though I’m not privy to actual numbers of course, I’m sure there will be plenty.
  12. This was pre-pandemic, but we did run into this issue. The supervisor ultimately did give us the elite discount when we challenged it.
  13. I’ll say it again; Celebrity’s marketing execs are sure smart to offer this! Look how they went from struggling to fill the Solstice to 11 pages of us all booking offers and some sailings now being unavailable for the casino offer. Sure we aren’t paying for the cruise, but that just means more available for onboard spending!
  14. I’m so glad you received satisfactory resolution! 😀 Have a great cruise!
  15. I’m happy for the crew. At first reading the news, it made me a bit nervous for passengers, but then I remembered that most restaurants have unmasked workers, so it’s not really any different.
  16. I recommend you rent a car from a location in Waikiki and drive around the island yourself the second day. We did that on our Hawaii cruise. Alternatively, there are tons of tour companies that will take you. You’d just need to get to their meeting spot in Waikiki.
  17. The special Christmas meal is at dinner. They, at least Pre-Pandemic, had turkey and ham as well as the usual nice dinner items. For dessert, they offered Christmas desserts from various parts of Europe, which was fun, and then each table would get a plate of Christmas cookies.
  18. Breakfast- Eggs Benedict offered every day instead of only once or twice per cruise Dinner- Chateubriand on every cruise instead of only certain ones, Carbonara consistently offered at dinner at least once a cruise, and steak back on the always available side of the menu. My DH really wishes they offered more regional foods, so you really feel immersed in the culture of the destination as you sail.
  19. You get 2 coffee cards, each entitling you to 15 specialty coffee drinks and unlimited drip coffee. They’re loaded onto your Medallion, so you need to ask to find out how many you have left if you don’t keep track yourself.
  20. Find a place on deck under the stars with no one around, soak in the romantic mood, and do it then. If you want a more public proposal, though, I thought the poster’s idea of in a photo backdrop, so the photographer could capture the moment, and she wouldn’t expect it was creative and cool.
